The music's dominant feel.......solemn......
"You did it! You survived!" is the usual tone you would expect when you finish a game
But if you were Isaac at the moment, still lost.....still confused. He didn't know what or why this happened to him and even after everything was done, he's still confused. I could paint a picture in my head him contemplating on his whole journey. Yes he lived, but the things he has seen can never erased from his mind.......he even defeated his mom. That's trauma
If you get the Chest ending, you resist locking yourself in the chest, note the photo that has him crying into his hands outside the chest. If you go to the cathedral you battle your insecurity and in the chest you fight your own death wish. You end up resisting the will to die, but Isaac has to live, somehow.
I think you figured it out. But the ending that accompanied this made me cry.
Ryan Phil And in the Sheol ending, Isaac is compelled to enter the chest and asphyxiate.

this song, it's rather sad, but underneath the surface, it seems almost... hopeful, as if hinting at a great tragedy nearing it's end.
man isn't that true with the Final Ending in Afterbirth Cross... or plus take your pick.

Isaac escaped his box, his escape from reality. And thus, he locked away all of his evil memories and thoughts within the box, the chest, the submerge of reality, along with his own death wish. Isaac ascended from the box, and unbound his mind. He was alive. And so was his mother. But she wasn't insane, like he thought.

This is my favorite song on the entire Isaac/WOTL ost. I love finding libraries just so I can sit in there and listen to this, take the edge off of dodging and fighting for a bit then get out there and kick ass.

And it also has the feeling of "what now?". I mean, sure, he survived, props to that, but to what end? His mother's (presumably) dead, and by his hand, which makes it even worse, his father's nowhere to be seen, so what now? How's he going to survive now? What is he going to do? Was it even worth it to kill his own mother?
ya, without his mom there's nobody to take care of him. he's stuck in a room forever. and what's the point of going home? as I said, his mom is dead, there's nobody there, all of is family died, his dad died in a car crash after he left, he killed his mom, his sister died in the basement secretly, and his cat died from severed limbs. and he can't practice self care bc there's no teachers, he's also just a four year old. and what's next? his mom hid all his belongings, and when she dies, Isaac can never find them. so all he can do if he is at home is use all his items until they are all gone and worn out, sleep on the floor until he dies from starvation, all there is left is a chest and you can't go back to the previous floor. so all he can do is just.... take out all the photos, see the memories, and die....

It does play in the library, but it also plays during ending 13.
