Sleeping on two separate twin mattresses pushed together is so underrated!!!!!! You get lots of space because its the same width as a king sized bed, and when you roll around, your partner doesn't feel the movement! Twin beds are shorter than kings, so if you're tall it might not work. My bf and I aren't, so it works for us bc it saves us space in our small bedroom :) And like you said, its soo much easier to move when the time comes. No need to rent a U haul and so easy if you're moving up some stairs or around odd corners!
Twin XL mattresses are the same length as a king bed, and two of them will fit on a king bed frame together. That’s what my spouse and I use so we can pick our own mattress firmness and replace them separately as needed over the years.
Just wanna say I really appreciate your content. People have started to believe that they need a 3-storey, 2500 sq. ft. house in order to have enough space, and with high inflation, I think it's important for people to get more out of less and make the most out of their homes. Your videos always show new creative ways to make use of a small space, and I appreciate how practical and affordable your suggestions are. You deserve to be much more popular!
Thank you for walking us through your space and really going into detail. I am awed by your family's pragmatism. You have really maximised the function of the space that you do have. My partner and I are about to move in to a 55sqm unit, and we definitely took notes while watching your video.
I love how this apartment has everything without having too many things that make the place feel cluttered. Some great solutions as well for the different challenges that come with a small space. ❤ I bring my desk close to my bed as well for movies and tv shows 😂 So its good to see someones else doing this too, although you do it in a much cleaner way😂
Thank you for that, Daniel. Your videos consistently inspire me as I navigate my new surroundings - from a 3 bedroomed family home, I moved into a 1 bedroomed bungalow. I have been decluttering for more than a year as I unpack, and the solutions you come up with in your videos show me what can be done with limited space. It's a comfort to know that you'll have found a solution to most of the issues that irritate me about it, so I am a very happy subscriber!
I’d love to see a tour of all the intentionally selected infant/toddler items and item upgrades. I spied a couple in this one - the stroller, clip on high chair, rolling crib, etc. I’m curious about compact, multifunctional, and moveable baby/kid gear in small apartments and intentionally designing around that!
Hah! Maybe too personal but I would love to see a video on how you met your wife and more about your relationship since it seems you two are so aligned. 😊
I really enjoyed how realistic your tour was! We are also renters who don’t want to invest in a Murphy bed on a space that is not our forever home. I advise you see the frame tv in person at the Samsung store. In comparison for the price and the frame is not included we decided to get a regular Samsung. The blacks just aren’t rich enough on the frame and you don’t really fool anyone long term. You are incredibly handy, Daniel so I feel you’re better off making your own frame for any tv you want. Unless you really like the stand option.
I always wonder about solutions for laundry. Where I live I need to handle laundry inside the apartment, which means at least the washer, but then I need either space for a dryer or a dry rack. Where do you fit drying laundry?
I know that some people put the drying rack in the bathtub or if it's a large shower in there. You can get retractable clothes lines that might work as well, again I would probably put it in the bathroom.
Vancouver living can be challenging without great design. You've inspired my layout for my place in the Olympic Village. Are you still doing the submission videos?
Hi Daniel, I just came across your channel and watched three videos in a row, your channel is very helpful for Raincouver tenants like us, keep the good styles going!
Really interesting minimalist solutions! I've enjoyed your content ever since I saw your minimalist desk setup (from Ergonofis I believe) and it inspired me to create my own similar standing desk and home office setup with similar pieces from IKEA since we don't have a whole lot of space here in the NYC area. By the way the views from your apartment look incredible, I love out it there in Vancouver!
Daniel, very true to you and your daily experience. I look forward to seeing how you address the absence or art and embellishment…. As an art collector who started young with modest means, may I suggest the following strategy: only put original works on your walls. May they be daycare productions or museum grade, as long as they are non reproductions or mass produced.
Awesome apartment tour and so inspirational so see a small space like that turned into a functional and cozy solution in the city like Vancouver! thank you for the work!
Your appartment looks great. If I were you, instead of buying new art pieces for the walls, I would hang my road-bike on the wall because I consider it to be a true piece of art :)
That daybed is exactly what I’m looking for in my daughters room so that she can sleep on it in single mode and then when we have guests we can pull it out into a full bed. Thanks for sharing!
Great tour of your lovely condo. Bonkers Vancouver market though that you all have to cram into such a tiny space......the price we pay I guess for living here . (Im lucky to have moved here from UK in 2010 and bought before market went crazy.) Love that you use the word 'gubbins' to describe stuff...... its a word my Dad used hahahahaha. Have been following you for a while now and really appreciate your content. Missing the architect transforms series . Hope you have more of those planned
I'm in a bungalow with about 6oo sq ft, but the garden is the same again & I planted Leylandii among other vegetation. The trees, now abt 30 ft high, do 'extend' the property (vertically!) & my general environment quite a bit, attract birds, provide selective privacy, cover from wind, a mild micro-environment, & there's a wee kitchen garden & shed squeezed in. Must say I do prefer being a groundling - though there's not the far-view that city towers have! (Although being in the Scottish Highlands there are distant hills etc.) £75 pw.
Very practical, keeps everything neat. I wish you'd zoomed in on your nightstand, I saw some kind of stand that lets you store your laptop vertically. Tell us more about that set-up!
Everything is full of thought. You’ve minimized the less attractive functions of your space and found a way to multi-purpose your baby’s room in a way that leaves a child their own space most of the time. I think a tri-fold would work great when they’re a toddler and older. I use one (Milliard) for car camping and it’s comfortable for a 62-year old side sleeper with hip pain. Highly recommend. For decorating when they’re older, a ceiling-hung tent could fill the space with color, be a great plaything, and easy to fold away in the closet when you’re in dining room mode.
Coming from you EDC 2024 video, I wouldn't have thought, in a million years, that this was filmed on an iPhone. Only because of the motion tracking I thought it was the amazing DJI osmo 3 or something like that.
Having a beautiful view is very underrated. People in houses, whose only view is of the neighbouring houses, don't realise what they are missing out on.
Hi there! New to your channel and loving all your videos! I’m living in a 1 bedroom apartment in Vancouver with my boyfriend and daughter and I’m always looking for new tips & tricks for small spaces! Question - we have really high ceilings in our place and are eventually contemplating a loft bed to be able to stay in our small space longer. Do you have a videos or advice on loft beds in small spaces?
Nice cosy contemporary minimal apartment there. Thanks for sharing a tour around. Of all the things, my partner will be anxious with the studio/ master bedroom setup. All these cameras naught to be accidentally capture some naught ;) 🎉😅
This is a great explainer of your thought process in planning use of space and multi functionality. Thanks so much! So curious about the one stool I couldn’t find a link for in the description. The squarish bamboo? Seat/stool/sidetable. So curious!
You were watching LOKI ;) At the end, it's not the space what matters, it's what you do with it. I love everything you did, and your recomendations. Thank you
Where did you get the daybed? I’m downsizing from house to apartment and I’ve been looking for that very thing! Great videos! Love the simple multi purpose solutions.
Amazing video! Your apartment is stunning. Can't wait to see you decorate it with some art. But bro: where are your greens? Not a single flower or plant? You deserve it!
Hi sir, great video as always. Totally inspired by the design inside your apartment. Btw I'm interested at your kitchen island. May I know the sizing? Might want to custom like yours. Thanks
Holy rent, Batman! OUCH :/ Lovely use of space. Efficient and still calm. Have you considered a wall-mount for your guitar? Lots of creative solutions. Neat and tidy, but if it were mine, I would want more decorative touches.
Hi Daniel, How many years do you plan to live in this size of apartment? My wife and I just remodelled a 54 sqm apartment here in Copenhagen. From a two bedroom to a three bedroom, and adding a folding wall to be able to include master bedroom in the living space. So about 30 sqm living room when it's open. I've gotten a lot of inspiration from your videos - so thanks a lot 👌 We hope to be able to live here for about 10 years with our daughter, but let's see how it works out :) Curious to hear your thoughts on when you feel the space will be too small for your little family :) High five MC
Awesome video! I'm really curious about that rolling kitchen counter on wheels, but I couldn't find a link in the description. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks! 🙏🏽
Every rental is different, so it depends if your place is ok with you making holes in the walls. Walls are surprisingly easy to patch, so if you're allowed - don't be scared! (just watch out for wires and pipes)
I just looked up the day bed and it says it turns into a double but you mention how its King size. There only seems to be twin size for these day beds.

I love the vibe of the video… independently from the set up of your apartment the best moment was when you were watching your daughter’s photo
I envy you sir. My wife would divorce me if she had to sleep on a day bed next to computer.
She loves it, I promise 😂
It's the only room I'm not keen on because it doesn't look comfy at all - which is just fine because I don't live there! 😂
I have a similar setup with my desk next to my bed and I can swivel my monitor to lie in bed and watch movies it's fantastic.
Hah! Maybe too personal but I would love to see a video on how you met your wife and more about your relationship since it seems you two are so aligned. 😊
@@wilmaknickersfitI agree. Needs more textures and lighting and cozy stuff to be a bedroom
it's so nice to have an apartment tour with lots of wide shots, it really gives me a sense of what it's like
A quality home layout like this is really inspiring and can lift up the mood of your entire family. 💖💖
The little hacks, such as having a magnet to hold open the door is the secrets to having a VERY functional life in an apartment.
I really enjoyed how realistic your tour was! We are also renters who don’t want to invest in a Murphy bed on a space that is not our forever home.

Fantastic and innovative ideas - I'll be incorporating some of these ideas for our family of 4 in a 2BR Toronto condo!
That clip on high chair is very cool!
Awesome apartment tour and so inspirational so see a small space like that turned into a functional and cozy solution in the city like Vancouver! thank you for the work!
That's a pretty good deal for rent in such a nice place in Vancouver city. Eventhough is small but the view worth it. And you designed it perfectly.
Great Video! Could you make a video for cable organisation? The Desk looks really neat.
impressed with how organised this looks, never too small vibes for sure
Your appartment looks great. If I were you, instead of buying new art pieces for the walls, I would hang my road-bike on the wall because I consider it to be a true piece of art :)
Thanks for the helpful tips. Helps me rethink some of the decisions in my place. Also, your b-roll is so clean.
Thanks for the tip for a caster wheel replacement! Just ordered some

Everything on wheels seems like a theme here, and I love it
great inspo thank you, were just getting our small kitchen done atm - stealing the magnetic shelves on the fridge idea!
I love how relatable this tour is!
Finding a 2 BR at that price in metro Vancouver nowadays is impossible to find. I am 💯 with you on space optimization.👍
Well done! Very impressed with your setup. My family of 4 lives in less than 900 sq ft in central Vancouver, renting as well. Taking inspiration 😊

I love your space. It’s so practical and in good taste.

I found it fascinating to learn about the practical and very clever solutions that you found for making your small apartment comfortable. 👍

Exactly! They don't really need pictures on the walls. The view is spectacular!
You don't need art work with those views ,love it x

Congrats. Very cute and very practical condo..... and amazing views👏👏

Absolutely loved seeing your solutions to all these small-space issues we all face - brilliant! Many thanks and best wishes for the artwork project.
This is a great explainer of your thought process in planning use of space and multi functionality. Thanks so much! So curious about the one stool I couldn’t find a link for in the description. The squarish bamboo? Seat/stool/sidetable. So curious!
You have a lovely home, thanks for sharing it with us.
You were watching LOKI ;)
At the end, it's not the space what matters, it's what you do with it. I love everything you did, and your recomendations. Thank you
Definitely share the smoothie recipes! Lovely video as always!
Your road bike could double as artwork with the right mounting equipment, and as a bonus it will encourage you to clean and maintain it perfectly :)
Thanks for the amazing video, Daniel!
Have a great week ahead!
Cheers from Brazil!
Awesome setup! Can you share the details of the bench under which you have placed your projector? Where did you get that from?
Absolutely love the entire place! Miss you guys lots, hope to come visit one day! 😍
You are guys very minimalistic - I should say! Considering that you have a kid. :)
Giant Revolt - great choice!
Hi sir, great video as always. Totally inspired by the design inside your apartment. Btw I'm interested at your kitchen island. May I know the sizing? Might want to custom like yours. Thanks
Your home is lovely! 💖 and stylish.
Your video gave me good ideas for my place. Awesome!
Where did you get the front door mirror though?
Holy rent, Batman! OUCH :/
Lovely use of space. Efficient and still calm.
Have you considered a wall-mount for your guitar?
Lots of creative solutions. Neat and tidy, but if it were mine, I would want more decorative touches.
There are cheaper cities in Canada. BC used to stand for British Columbia, now it means BRING CASH

Thank you Daniel.
Hey Daniel, do u have any inputs on windowless bathroom and how can we play with the lighting to make it more comfortably bright?
Hi Daniel, may I know where you got the coffee table? I love it!
Hi Daniel,
How many years do you plan to live in this size of apartment? My wife and I just remodelled a 54 sqm apartment here in Copenhagen. From a two bedroom to a three bedroom, and adding a folding wall to be able to include master bedroom in the living space. So about 30 sqm living room when it's open.
I've gotten a lot of inspiration from your videos - so thanks a lot 👌
We hope to be able to live here for about 10 years with our daughter, but let's see how it works out :)
Curious to hear your thoughts on when you feel the space will be too small for your little family :)
High five
MC
That sounds really interesting.
Loved the tour!
You should put wheels on the desk and chairs and get a rug. And I would go up to at least a 32 inch monitor.
Awesome video! I'm really curious about that rolling kitchen counter on wheels, but I couldn't find a link in the description. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks! 🙏🏽
8:58 plz plz tell me where you found those chair glides. I can't find any for ikea chairs
So clever and functional. And a same time its homy.
Hey Dan. Looking at using a shoe organizer in the closet as well but most are long and hung over the door. What did you use in there.Looked shorter.
Do you have to have the standing desk? What about your old flip down table set up you had before IF this doesn't work out for you?
Thanks for sharing, noticed you are not big on plants
This is the second channel with the bench you have in the living room (with the cushion on top). Where did you get it? Thanks!
11:08 it's what you do with it that counts 😉
How do you deal with mounting the shoe cabinet/entry console and bathroom shelving in a renter's friendly way?
Every rental is different, so it depends if your place is ok with you making holes in the walls. Walls are surprisingly easy to patch, so if you're allowed - don't be scared! (just watch out for wires and pipes)
Can you please tell me where you bought the floor protectors for the Ikea chair legs and what is they names?
Well done! Gives me so many ideas. Thanks!
Great apartment ! Works for now, I always say 😊
The view is absolutely amazing, which area is that? Downtown Vancouver?
Hello Daniel, do you follow the Vastu while decorating the rooms?
Hi Daniel, what matress did you use for the daybed? Is it comfortable? Any backache issue?
Man, the sound quality of your video is so good! How did you do it?
Hi. Where is the kitchen table/storage unit on casters?
I loved the tour! The only thing that would have made it better would be if you had included your wife's opinion on the daybed situation.
She had discussed it in the daybed video itself.
Alot of Favorites in here!
A clip-on baby seat!!! WOW
Wow what a view!
excellent video and wow your audio is so crisp! do you mind sharing what your set up is?
What is the music playing at 6:57?
I just looked up the day bed and it says it turns into a double but you mention how its King size. There only seems to be twin size for these day beds.
Looking fwd with curiosity at what you folks choose for artwork 😊
Yoooo I did not expect you to casually drop that you make the Super Veggie and Nutty Pudding 😂
I absolutely love everything about the apartment, except the fact that you have to set the bed every night
Cute place! I like neutral color pallet
