I have 12' on the way and this Mark's my number 2 from PSI CAR AUDIO. Yes I blew my VIBE B12 when I was coming home from car show 9 years ago and to get it rebuilt I had to ship the entire thing to UK...$800 and that's not including shipping back cost and repairs. So thanks to PSI CAR AUDIO I didnt have to worry shipping to UK. They did amazing job on my Space B12 subwoofer I call it PSI rebuild SPACE B12. Oh it hits way harder then original...so if you need speakers rebuild PSI CAR AUDIO i highly recommend. But sorry bout the blah blah blah. I worked backwords. My first system was 2 Kicker L7's on an Orion XT1500. My now system is 2 Audiopipe BD4 12's on a Audiopipe APCL 1500. Honestly I love the look on peoples faces when I say its just 2 budget 12's.

Theres a new contender. Soundstream bass extreme bxw124. 60$ claims 800 rms. Weighs a good 14lbs. Ive been abusing mine with a taramps bass400 in a ported box i made for it tuned to 35hz. Ive never been more impressed for the money. I dont have a bigger amp or other equipment to test it tho. Be cool to find out results
The American bass subwoofer in this video weighs more than 27lbs....maybe for 60$ that soundstream subwoofer is decent but it's a far ways away from the subwoofer in this video.

I wish I could've had equipment like that when I first started out! The sub looks really good for the money, but that amp, I have had personal experience with! I had TWO of them strapped to TWO JL Audio 12w7's and lemme tell ya, it was BANANNAS! As with any high powered amplifier, get your big boy electrical! Great video though, thumbs up!
Yes, very impressive esp for the price! I remember getting my first big time sub, an Audiopulse Axis quad 1 ohm voice coil 12". Got on sale from parts Express for like $450 shipped to my door. Think it weighs about 52lbs and she's still rocking like 13 years later! Got that and a TC Sounds 15" Tropo I got lightly used for $75! Running them both off my Orion 2500 Watt after watching Big D's test of that amp at .8 ohms and even though the 12" Axis is in a crappy prefab box that's ported a bit high for my like the 15" TC Sounds is in a better box ported a good bit lower so it is really impressive for what it is. I'm probably starting from scratch since I left that system in the Xterra I sold to a good Buddy, aside from a few things I kept for the next system I'm building. Found a DC Audio stage 4 12" in a nice custom box I'm hoping to pick up in the next couple of days for about $160, and the Orion amp will go to that for the moment, and hopefully picking up a package deal on a Dual 12" loaded box, with 2 or 3 decent mids/highs amps along with some other miscellaneous speakers and stuff. So hoping that the lower end dual 12" subs and box will add a little to the DC Audio sub, and probably some good 6x9's in boxes plus decent speakers in the stock locations on this first generation Grand Cherokee should have me with something to fill the void till I can add to the system a little bit here and there.. I had the Americanbass bass XFL and now the HD series. Those subs are amazing. But I have custom boxes built for both. Sounded so much better in the correct box. Not a prefab box. Perfab did have the same range.

If the E series is as good as the XD series, that's a good price. I have the XD-1244 in a 2.66 cuft box tuned to 33hz on an mtx Terminator 1000.1 (first gen). I have a crack in my dashboard that "talks" at 27hz. So yeah, helluva sub for the price.
@@frankmaggio4328 that's a helluva deal! I paid 40 for a used one that wasn't even broken in yet. Now that it is, it's easily hitting 139-140 on about 670 watts at the terminals.
I had 2 of the fat surround with the corny dx cone 12s doing 143.4 in a prefab ona kicker 1500.1 and it took 1 year to blow 1. Thats damn good for a cheap single coil sub. Im not sure how good the newer dx is but ive got the newer black double claw basket tnt 15s and id easily put 1400 real watt per sub and be comfortable doing it ever day. I used them with a ab vfl4480.1 but didnt get to meter that set up but i could tell it was definetely closer to 144.5 or so. Updated alt would of made a difference too cause it drained pretty good even with a dry cell in the back a yellow stinger. Probably could of gotten 145 or 146 with that amp with good alt.

Skars has their SDR 12’s up for months for only $100 and they slam . i blew them a while back because my box was too small but they definitely can flex with ease and shake your entire car . even the front windshield if you tune the hz down as well . all in all amazing sub
I have (1) Skar 10” SVR DVC2 on the Down4Sound’s JP8 and it’s one of my favorites and I’ve had every brand imaginable since the 80’s. In my 20’ Honda Civic I started with Skar’s 10” Bass package with (1) 10” SDR DVC2 and the RP800 amp and then I upgraded my amp to the JP8 and upgraded my (1) 10” SDR DVC2 to their 10” SVR DVC2 with AMAZING results! I recently bought a 15 inch american bass. Dual 2 ohm bridge to 1ohm. Amp I got 1000rms to 1ohm. No distortion. Also at full volume, I don't smell the speaker cooking. 😃 15" ported box fits my Honda Accord.
Not just gettinging everything ready door speakers just came in ct sounds 6.5 2 pairs and have the new hifonic 1200 watts amp for the 8in. Just order the ct sound amp for the 6.5 speakers 75 watts 4 channel. Also putting alarm install also.
Fairly solid sub, you can get some SunDowns for around the same price that will get really low. Spend a little more you can get Dayton Audio HO reference series that are intended for accurate reproduction.

Dual two ohm is my fav for a one sub application. Wire it to 4. Bridge it. Safe 2ohm stable load. And if you wanna go real hard. Wire it 2 bridged is 1. #facts

I have a soundqubed hds3.1 12 which is the exact same sub as that other than the ribbed surround, Ive had it over a year now and its insane for 1 12, yeah man u need a custom box for that!

I just blew my 2 12 inch Audiopipe TXX BD2-12's powered by a pioneer GM-D9601. after looking at your video I'm thinking if getting the American Bass subs. Would these be a good upgrade? I can't believe I blew those speakers.
The elites or XFLs would be great options. That being said, if your others blew it could have been due to some clipping. Best way to avoid that is if you start to smell them turn it down a little

The ribbed sorround is on the newer model. I misspoke in the video. The ribs might bake the surround stronger but no I don’t think it really does anything in a practical sense

only 10 secs at full blast that is volts drop under 11 and I dont wanna hurt the amp .... half ohm draws way to many amps.. but honestly it's hard to tolerate it all the way up for more then 10 secs anyways
I got a dual 12-inch MTX Terminator subwoofer setup. very low power subs. not much excursion even at their rated power of about 100 to 250 watts RMS I dont know if the box is too small or what. but it is a ported/vented enclosure. each sub is 4 ohms. they reach thermal limit before they reach mechanical limit even when free air at 20hz. I think the coils are just undersized with undersized coil wire awg making them have poor power handling. they still get very loud though! using a 2x250W RMS amplifier to power them each at 4 ohms. amp is bridged from 4 channel down to 2 channel to power each sub individually I dont know why they dont move much between 30 and 60hz. i can put my hand on them and my hand doesnt move much they only start moving at 25hz and below really. at 14 and 18hz they move quite a bit
What's the lowest you can wire them down to can they be wired to 1 ohm if so u will get the full amount of power out of them because at 4ohms ur not getting full power if ur Subs are 250w each and ur amp is 500w it has to be ran down to 1ohm to get the 500w if not ur probably only maybe 125w on each sub u can look it up how to run ur amp at a lower ohm it's really easy once u look up the manual but just make sure that your amp is stable at one of them if not you might have to run it at 2 ohms but you'll still get more power and ur Subs will move a lot more than they are now. hopefully i helped o and one more thing u don't really have to but it would probably be better it u got a monoblock amp (✌🏼💪🏼🔈💪🏼🔉💪🏼🔊)
They are both single-coil 4 ohm subs. My amp can only handle two 4-ohm subs when bridged. it has 4 channels. can be bridged down to 2 channels. it outputs 250W RMS at 4 ohms bridged to each subwoofer. each subwoofer is hooked seperately to the two bridged channels. its stable at 2 ohms in all 4 channels unbridged. or 2x 4 ohms bridged to 2 channels. with 2x 250W RMS
What brand of amp is it? Some companies just straight up lie about the power they put out. If you get a monoblock or 2 channel amp they generally handle subs better. The 4 channels generally handle the mids and highs so they dont need TONS of power. But like Frank Rivera said, your probably only getting closer to 125 watts each sub. You say they get loud so I wouldn't do anything 👍👉😝👈
The big boy sub the American bass godfather 18 inch subwoofer is huge and really powerful from what I heard and will set you back a couple hundred dollars because The Godfather series are really expensive

I've had my eyes on the elites for a while. I've watched some of your videos on budget subs and I purchased the audio pipe bdc2. Which is an awesome sub it takes power well. It smells a lot during break in but that's expected. I have a amazing 800 watt amp that pushes this well. Though I believe I have maxed them out or it can be the 2 cubic feet box that I have them in. Nevertheless I need something bigger and more bass. I love a single sub setup and I don't want to change. Even though my amp is 1 ohm stable it still pushes 2 with relative ease. Now I have a question, could I buy an American Bass 4 ohm bringing it down to two ohms of course? Will it sound better than audio pipe in your opinion? Clearly the elites take 12 continuous and 2400 peak with audio pipe at 750 and 1500 max. Now that I'm writing this it is becoming more self explanatory. Rather my question should be do I just search for a budget 2 o sub that can take the power. Your opinion is greatly valued!

In high school I ran an American Bass amp that was 500+ rms @ 2ohms pushing 2 12’ Super Blues in a port slotted box. It was in a 93 Eclipse and it got really loud 🔊! Man I would play Bass Mekanic v2.0 Cd on my Alpine Head-unit.... you couldn’t tell me shit back then. 😂
My Dual 12 is on 300 watts rms just a SVC but trust me I made a custom box tuned to 32 HZ and it prolly slams just as hard as that sub a Built box will make a difference man should get one for that sub

I need to ask u an important question. So a monoblock is one channel right? And it’s only powering the sub right? So it’s not powering the door speakers so my stock ones won’t blow up right?
Not a bad sub for the money tho. But the only time you would upgrade your 4 gauge power wire is if you were upgradeing your amp then youd go 0 gauge because theres more power comeing from that amp if you upgraded.
SaltTomaten they really are! Have had very good luck with American Bass. Will be reviewing an XFL soon. I think these elites went up to around 130-140 after this video but still a good deal in my opinion

What is the cut out diameter on the XR 12 ? It’s not 10.7 like it says on amazon or from audio savings or even the manual. I am having a custom box built which is not local to me and the paperwork says 10.7 inches I barely got it to fit in my sundown sa12 box which I had to sand it down to get it to lay flat if anybody has an exact answer please let me know so I can let my builder know thanks

I have 12' on the way and this Mark's my number 2 from PSI CAR AUDIO. Yes I blew my VIBE B12 when I was coming home from car show 9 years ago and to get it rebuilt I had to ship the entire thing to UK...$800 and that's not including shipping back cost and repairs. So thanks to PSI CAR AUDIO I didnt have to worry shipping to UK. They did amazing job on my Space B12 subwoofer I call it PSI rebuild SPACE B12. Oh it hits way harder then original...so if you need speakers rebuild PSI CAR AUDIO i highly recommend. But sorry bout the blah blah blah. But keep up the work and agree negative comments should not hurt you, build and become stronger off the negatives comments. You have my support. Good job! :)
You're right, my first system was my cousins hand me downs for my 16th birthday in 1999. An old Phoenix Gold amp and two Fosgate P3s
I worked backwords. My first system was 2 Kicker L7's on an Orion XT1500. My now system is 2 Audiopipe BD4 12's on a Audiopipe APCL 1500. Honestly I love the look on peoples faces when I say its just 2 budget 12's.
For you guys that know and has experience come up together and help me with this.. so am riding in a dodge 03 hemi 5.7 liter. 1500 so the speaker box what would I need to get it to thumb. Ive been abusing mine with a taramps bass400 in a ported box i made for it tuned to 35hz.
Ive never been more impressed for the money. I dont have a bigger amp or other equipment to test it tho. Be cool to find out results
The American bass subwoofer in this video weighs more than 27lbs....maybe for 60$ that soundstream subwoofer is decent but it's a far ways away from the subwoofer in this video.

I had TWO of them strapped to TWO JL Audio 12w7's and lemme tell ya, it was BANANNAS! As with any high powered amplifier, get your big boy electrical! Great video though, thumbs up!

I remember getting my first big time sub, an Audiopulse Axis quad 1 ohm voice coil 12". Got on sale from parts Express for like $450 shipped to my door. Think it weighs about 52lbs and she's still rocking like 13 years later! Got that and a TC Sounds 15" Tropo I got lightly used for $75!
Running them both off my Orion 2500 Watt after watching Big D's test of that amp at .8 ohms and even though the 12" Axis is in a crappy prefab box that's ported a bit high for my like the 15" TC Sounds is in a better box ported a good bit lower so it is really impressive for what it is.
I'm probably starting from scratch since I left that system in the Xterra I sold to a good Buddy, aside from a few things I kept for the next system I'm building.
Found a DC Audio stage 4 12" in a nice custom box I'm hoping to pick up in the next couple of days for about $160, and the Orion amp will go to that for the moment, and hopefully picking up a package deal on a Dual 12" loaded box, with 2 or 3 decent mids/highs amps along with some other miscellaneous speakers and stuff. So hoping that the lower end dual 12" subs and box will add a little to the DC Audio sub, and probably some good 6x9's in boxes plus decent speakers in the stock locations on this first generation Grand Cherokee should have me with something to fill the void till I can add to the system a little bit here and there..

I had the Americanbass bass XFL and now the HD series. Those subs are amazing. But I have custom boxes built for both. Sounded so much better in the correct box. Not a prefab box. Perfab did have the same range.

The best budget amp on the market is the Taramps hd3000 for $179 and it puts out clamping power at 14.4 volts 2676 Watts at 2 ohm
PPI 7000 does 3850 and 0.5 ohm stable with warranty @ half ohm. Plus 2 cooling fans. Its $249 though but well worth it for dropping (4) subs in.

I have the XD-1244 in a 2.66 cuft box tuned to 33hz on an mtx Terminator 1000.1 (first gen).
I have a crack in my dashboard that "talks" at 27hz.
So yeah, helluva sub for the price.
I bought 2 XD 12's for $50. never did get a chance to use them. They looked impressive.

I had 2 of the fat surround with the corny dx cone 12s doing 143.4 in a prefab ona kicker 1500.1 and it took 1 year to blow 1.

Im not sure how good the newer dx is but ive got the newer black double claw basket tnt 15s and id easily put 1400 real watt per sub and be comfortable doing it ever day.
I used them with a ab vfl4480.1 but didnt get to meter that set up but i could tell it was definetely closer to 144.5 or so.
Updated alt would of made a difference too cause it drained pretty good even with a dry cell in the back a yellow stinger.
Probably could of gotten 145 or 146 with that amp with good alt.

Skars has their SDR 12’s up for months for only $100 and they slam . i blew them a while back because my box was too small but they definitely can flex with ease and shake your entire car . even the front windshield if you tune the hz down as well . all in all amazing sub
I have an sdr12 and I promise you that this sub is far better than the SDR, likely in every metric other than price.
I have (1) Skar 10” SVR DVC2 on the Down4Sound’s JP8 and it’s one of my favorites and I’ve had every brand imaginable since the 80’s. In my 20’ Honda Civic I started with Skar’s 10” Bass package with (1) 10” SDR DVC2 and the RP800 amp and then I upgraded my amp to the JP8 and upgraded my (1) 10” SDR DVC2 to their 10” SVR DVC2 with AMAZING results! Funny how now-days there is so much competition compared to back then you had the big 3 brands for the most part and you can get amazing stuff as I have for decent prices!#🔊❤️@Caleb Skunza

I recently bought a 15 inch american bass. Dual 2 ohm bridge to 1ohm. Amp I got 1000rms to 1ohm. No distortion. Also at full volume, I don't smell the speaker cooking. 😃 15" ported box fits my Honda Accord.

Not just gettinging everything ready door speakers just came in ct sounds 6.5 2 pairs and have the new hifonic 1200 watts amp for the 8in. Just order the ct sound amp for the 6.5 speakers 75 watts 4 channel. Also putting alarm install also.
Fairly solid sub, you can get some SunDowns for around the same price that will get really low. Spend a little more you can get Dayton Audio HO reference series that are intended for accurate reproduction.

Dual two ohm is my fav for a one sub application. Wire it to 4. Bridge it. Safe 2ohm stable load. And if you wanna go real hard. Wire it 2 bridged is 1. #facts

I just blew my 2 12 inch Audiopipe TXX BD2-12's powered by a pioneer GM-D9601. after looking at your video I'm thinking if getting the American Bass subs. Would these be a good upgrade? I can't believe I blew those speakers.
The elites or XFLs would be great options. That being said, if your others blew it could have been due to some clipping.
Best way to avoid that is if you start to smell them turn it down a little

Set gains right and there will be no more blown subs lol, if you have access to a DD-1, it will save you alot of money in the long run

only 10 secs at full blast that is volts drop under 11 and I dont wanna hurt the amp .... half ohm draws way to many amps.. but honestly it's hard to tolerate it all the way up for more then 10 secs anyways

I got a dual 12-inch MTX Terminator subwoofer setup.
very low power subs. not much excursion even at their rated power of about 100 to 250 watts RMS
I dont know if the box is too small or what. but it is a ported/vented enclosure.
each sub is 4 ohms.
they reach thermal limit before they reach mechanical limit even when free air at 20hz. I think the coils are just undersized with undersized coil wire awg making them have poor power handling.
they still get very loud though! using a 2x250W RMS amplifier to power them each at 4 ohms. amp is bridged from 4 channel down to 2 channel to power each sub individually
I dont know why they dont move much between 30 and 60hz. i can put my hand on them and my hand doesnt move much
they only start moving at 25hz and below really. at 14 and 18hz they move quite a bit
What's the lowest you can wire them down to can they be wired to 1 ohm if so u will get the full amount of power out of them because at 4ohms ur not getting full power if ur Subs are 250w each and ur amp is 500w it has to be ran down to 1ohm to get the 500w if not ur probably only maybe 125w on each sub u can look it up how to run ur amp at a lower ohm it's really easy once u look up the manual but just make sure that your amp is stable at one of them if not you might have to run it at 2 ohms but you'll still get more power and ur Subs will move a lot more than they are now. hopefully i helped o and one more thing u don't really have to but it would probably be better it u got a monoblock amp (✌🏼💪🏼🔈💪🏼🔉💪🏼🔊)
They are both single-coil 4 ohm subs.
My amp can only handle two 4-ohm subs when bridged. it has 4 channels. can be bridged down to 2 channels.
it outputs 250W RMS at 4 ohms bridged to each subwoofer. each subwoofer is hooked seperately to the two bridged channels.
its stable at 2 ohms in all 4 channels unbridged.
or 2x 4 ohms bridged to 2 channels. with 2x 250W RMS
What brand of amp is it? Some companies just straight up lie about the power they put out. If you get a monoblock or 2 channel amp they generally handle subs better. The 4 channels generally handle the mids and highs so they dont need TONS of power. But like Frank Rivera said, your probably only getting closer to 125 watts each sub. You say they get loud so I wouldn't do anything 👍👉😝👈

The big boy sub the American bass godfather 18 inch subwoofer is huge and really powerful from what I heard and will set you back a couple hundred dollars because The Godfather series are really expensive

I've had my eyes on the elites for a while. I've watched some of your videos on budget subs and I purchased the audio pipe bdc2. Which is an awesome sub it takes power well. It smells a lot during break in but that's expected. I have a amazing 800 watt amp that pushes this well. Though I believe I have maxed them out or it can be the 2 cubic feet box that I have them in. Nevertheless I need something bigger and more bass. I love a single sub setup and I don't want to change. Even though my amp is 1 ohm stable it still pushes 2 with relative ease. Now I have a question, could I buy an American Bass 4 ohm bringing it down to two ohms of course? Will it sound better than audio pipe in your opinion? Clearly the elites take 12 continuous and 2400 peak with audio pipe at 750 and 1500 max. Now that I'm writing this it is becoming more self explanatory. Rather my question should be do I just search for a budget 2 o sub that can take the power. Your opinion is greatly valued!

And they would all be 3000 watt monoblock they would say but putting out like 500 watts a piece, LOL the RMS on the twelves were like 200-500 if you were crazy. And I just seen one speaker fucking blow my homeboys Blazers hopefully depart from high school just now on this video. That's hilarious. And also if that's a cheap speaker where the fuck are the expensive ones and what the hell's the difference. It's hard to hear on the video, but I'm sure technology has changed but bases bass. I know the frequencies and tones changed but after so much, isn't it all the same? ? I'm not being a dick or trolling. I'm just curious because I had a buddy that did have a truck that hit really hard and it's fucking took my breath away and shit. I didn't like that. But he did like inventions and shit. I don't know what he was running either but it was ridiculous. He had sponsors and all that. But the videos are awesome. I seen a thumbnail of you said what do we have here or something? And I, don't know it but I don't know what video it was. It was the fucking I think it was frozen my phone glitched. I think it said Genesis on the back. @@ParkerTheBasshead I can. DC Audio level 1. Its a slighly smaller magnet, but thats really the only diff. At that point it comes down to personal preference. I prefer DC Audio over American Bass. That's why I have four DC's

In high school I ran an American Bass amp that was 500+ rms @ 2ohms pushing 2 12’ Super Blues in a port slotted box. It was in a 93 Eclipse and it got really loud 🔊! Man I would play Bass Mekanic v2.0 Cd on my Alpine Head-unit.... you couldn’t tell me shit back then. 😂

My Dual 12 is on 300 watts rms just a SVC but trust me I made a custom box tuned to 32 HZ and it prolly slams just as hard as that sub a Built box will make a difference man should get one for that sub

Got the same subs but 15s tho. Have them for my home theater and they rock. Running them at 8ohms for the plate amplifier connected to.

I need to ask u an important question. So a monoblock is one channel right? And it’s only powering the sub right? So it’s not powering the door speakers so my stock ones won’t blow up right?
Yes a mono block amp is meant for one channel and usually only meant for subs. It can only blow up your door speakers if it is hooked up to them

Not a bad sub for the money tho. But the only time you would upgrade your 4 gauge power wire is if you were upgradeing your amp then youd go 0 gauge because theres more power comeing from that amp if you upgraded.
The plan is to run two of those amps this summer. And upgrading the wire would make a good video and certainly can’t hurt anything

What is the cut out diameter on the XR 12 ? It’s not 10.7 like it says on amazon or from audio savings or even the manual. I am having a custom box built which is not local to me and the paperwork says 10.7 inches I barely got it to fit in my sundown sa12 box which I had to sand it down to get it to lay flat if anybody has an exact answer please let me know so I can let my builder know thanks
