As sad as Nicks's death was, his final line to Helen was a supremely satisfying deconstruction of her ego
Nah it was cocky as hell. Cutter knew his wife was a smart woman and a scientist. He knew that she has seen the apocalyptic future. Hell he even knew she wasn’t bullshitting about the predators. Yet he still acted, they all acted as she was just some kind of lunatic. THEY were arrogant and ignorant, not Helen. Helen has seen hell, she presented evidence, yet nobody bothered to listen to her.
It should never, EVER be forgotten that Cutter died going back to save Helen. After everything she'd done, abandoned him, cheated on him, caused the death of so many people, and had completely lost her mind, he STILL went back to save her. Because Cutter was a hero. And he didn't leave people to die.
"You're not as smart as I thought you were."
In homer of Cutter, I will use that quote when ever I can.
Still to this day this scene almost makes me cry. Cutter's character was just amazing!

Nope best character was Connor and Lester. I was getting tried of Cutter being the main focus on. I glad he left the show. Along with Stephen too. I never liked Stephen and I don’t know why people like him.

I don't know why, but for some reason I actually prefer Cutter in season 3 than any other. He's a lot more pensive, and the last few episodes of his character really showed the man the anomalies made him. He didn't have to be an action hero, but the fact he died simply going back to save Helen simply because it was the right thing to do is incredible.
I really like Danny Quinn, but Nick, Conor and Abby chasing Helen through the anomalies in episode 10 with nick facing Helen and watching her die before getting marooned would have been amazing
Yeah but it make it better with Danny because to me when I watch it it felt more to me was a revenge mission and seeing how Danny is gonna help us do it.
That was actually the original idea by the creator's but sadly Douglas henshaw wanted to leave as.he didn't like how season 2 went so they had to drastically change thing's

Has anyone else noticed that Claudia and Jenny always know when something critical is going to happen... I don't know whether it's because of what happened to her character which gave her sense of time but she said a similar thing before nick went into the past in series one and wiped her from time, its eary really

Err No. Ever since Cutter die, the show was still the same idiot. People only say that because he was the first main character since series 1. I glad he left the show. I was getting sick of him being the main character getting focus on. It was time he left so other characters can be focus on and anyway Danny was better than him so yeah the show was still the same when he left and it was way better without him so shut up.
And it never took any huge turn what are you talking about. It was still about creatures coming through the anomalies so yeah it was still the same
His death hit me so hard as a kid, I always waited that he would return some how after that episode :(
We can't say it will ever be the same, but a 10th Anniversary Special we are currently producing named Primeval X does have an impersonator (Oliver Pajak) playing Nick Cutter as the special is set during Series 2!
me to i always had to believe it was the clone that died and nick escaped somehow. no idea why but i had to believe it.

I would have loved to seen the real plan they had for series 3 if Nicks actor stay on.
Wish the writers would release it it's not going to do them harm and it would be interesting to know. So many unanswered questions like what actually happened to Claudia, how was the artifact created and then they could track the anomalies before they even opened. Or the anomaly opening device which isn't even acknowledged after this which is crazy cos it would've completely changed the whole show

Jenny's dialogue was clearly on purpose: the exact same final words Claudia said to Cutter before they never saw each other again.
When I first watched this when I was quite young, I was so upset that I said I will never watch this episode again... I wonder how that turned out :)

This scene drived me crazy and il never watch it ever again I’ll try to think that cutter quit and didn’t die
When I was a child and I saw that chapter I cried a lot and did not stop until I fell asleep, now when I saw it again I took a tear and almost cried when I was a kid

I own the DVD collection so I have seen this episode quite often. To me it is strange that Cutter just stands around there and let his astranged wife take tha shot at him.
The scene comes over like an execution. To me Cutter´s motvation for this almost suicide like act is missing.

Series 3 would have been different if Nicks actor stay to till the end of the series. We would have lost Cutter anyway because he would have been stranded in the past after a final encounter with Helen instead of Danny being there and that would have been the end of Nick there.
Series 3 would have been incredible if Nick had stayed for all of season 3 or until episode 5 at least we would have seen him until halfway through the season

It's not, the clone died in the explosion.
The writers said he’s dead and if they ever brought the show back he would stay dead because they said it would ruin the ending of this episode
