That's an amazing puppet! It looks real. I love how they made motions of the horse breathing and other simple things to give a more realistic appearance.
You can see that Jeffrey is curious about the puppet. His ears are forward and he is smelling it, but he isn't overly anxious by the puppet otherwise the ears would've been flat back and snapping his teeth.
Jeffery was sniffing at Joey's nose to smell the air he's exhausting. This is a common greeting for horses. Similar to canines sniffing butts as a 'How are you?'.
The fact the horse is trying to communicate and understand Joey is so cool. Which shows how good they had their movements down as the real horse was mimicking head positions even ears lol so freaking cool

Just marveling at the notion that a horse- a herd animal- would need a fake, human operated horse to learn how to socialize. Lol. That horse does not think that is another horse.
