One of the most underrated characters in the entire show. At first, we thought he was just as bad as Odalia, but then we realized, he was a nice guy who got caught up in her goals , but returned to the light thanks to Luz and Amity. And eventually, came in clutch during the Day of Unity. Long live Aladarius.

In The Owl House we had a lot, A LOT, of bad first impressions, Amity, Lilith, Edric and Emira, Hunter, Matt Tholomule, Bump. It goes to show that the first impression shouldn't be the one that stays.

Really wish we got more of Alador with the Twins. It was clear him and Odalia played favorites to Amity as gifted. But I feel Alador’s whole journey of trying to be a better Dad should’ve also included connecting with Edric and Emira, his first born children. otherwise, his whole arc feels incomplete.
Then again, that is basically how Owl House ended: Incomplete

Did we get Caleb and Evelyn’s Full Story? Or The Past Golden Guards/Grimwalkers? Odalia’s fate? Where the portal case came from? Hooty’s origins and connection to the Titan? Bat Queen’s owner? Therapy for the HexSquad (especially Hunter)?
If we got none of that, then I’d say it was incomplete.
I think we got as much as they could put in? In his conversation with King he said he wanted to connect more with his kids, plural, and then in the epilogue you see him with Emira for a shot. It's not much, but it's there, which says something for how little time they had.

he was also a victim of odalia’s abuse. he made mistakes and neglected his children but they are united in safely removing that narcissist from their lives. now he and his children have been able to heal together and grow as their own.

I really like Aladors character he went from being a taken advantage husband to a committed father. I don't even know how he and Odalia got married, but man, I hope he finds a new wife because she never redeemed herself
I think she saw his potential and gave him the space to be creative., but also focused. Maybe he fell in love with that but over time, her ambition and quest fpr power ruined it

They were happy for a time for sure. Cuz in that episode where Amity wants to do the brawl in Aladors past pic Odalia is cheering for him.
They may have loved each other or greatly cared for one another in the beginning, but ppl morph and change and fuck up their marriages
If i had a nickel for every time a sleep deprived character went from hated to beloved in their second appearence around Luz, i would have two nickles, wich, isin't a lot, but its weird that it happened twice

I'm really glad Alador saw the light of day and became a much better father for his children.
I remember being sad when Amity shook his hand instead of returning his hug, despite completely understanding why she did that and it being perfectly justified.
Alador was clearly tired and overworked, and he'd obviously given up trying to argue with Odalia a long time ago, to the point that he was just a compliant, apathetic automaton.
When he finally stood up to carry out his role as a father during the Bonesborough Brawl, he was using Odalia's "parenting" style. But unlike his wife, he actually listened to Amity when she stood up to him. And it finally dawned on him that burying himself in his work (despite it being all he COULD do thanks to Odalia overworking him) caused him to emotionally distance himself from his own kids.
Odalia wanted their family to be on top, but Alador realized that it would be an unhappy family. Glad his kids gave him a reason to stand up to her.
Amity: Yup, that’s my dad.
Luz: And my dad-in-law.
Amity: Oh yeah, you’re gonna marry me soon.
Luz: Yup. 😉

I love alador's character development, I think he's shows if a parent really wants to be a better person to their child, starts to ask their kid how they are feeling about certain things they feel about, I could see why Dana said she really liked writing his character and said it's was a fun experience (plus he's my favorite character- I love his goofy ass sm- and him and Darius NEED to kiss)

First time we see him I thought he was just as bad as odelia but when we see him later he's a cool dude. What changed between here and later?
Well we only first saw him on how Amity remembered him from her childhood memories which aren’t exactly the most reliable memories

His silhouette was standing behind hers, which I feel perfectly represented his role as a father. Seems like up until after the events of Reaching Out, he was his wife's shadow, just being like "do as your mother says, now I gotta get back to work before she threatens to kill another one of my staff members".
Seems like he was both a victim and an (unintentional) abuser. His wife always pushed him on what and what not to do, whether it be a slight nudge or a rough shove in whatever direction she wanted him to go. He gave up trying to stand his ground a while ago (probly cuz he was just too tired to care anymore), and that fight in him didn't reawaken until he realized how his apathetic compliance was negatively affecting his children.
If you're talking about Amity's memories from season 1 then these memories may be unreliable.

Yep. Not gonna lie, but Alador is the most underrated characters in this show.😌A man who we thought was bad and turn to the dark side like Odalia, but it turns out he was a nice guy and is a good father to her daughter Amity. And he can be a funny guy sometimes.

I don't think Alador actually said those things in the episode where they go to Willowss mind and it was just Amity's memories filling in because he never really had a say or control over what was happening around and since him and Amity never got to spend too much time together before she must have thought he was like Odalia

If they had more time, I would have definitely liked to see what Odalia, Alador, and Darius were like as kids. We got a brief glimpse of them goofing around, but what happened to Odalia? Was she always this person secretly and just slowly got more and more bold? Does Darius is the gay? What happened to make them essentially estranged from each other? He also calls Alador a hack, so there was clearly something that happened.
So many unanswered questions ugh
