Notice how everything Sal says makes sense from either perspective. He framed his statements so they made sense in either reality. Theoretically Sal could keep this dual reality charade up for months--maybe years. And none of the girls would recognize they've been infiltrated.

I think the first two girls assumed the two girls who came later invited him. The two girls who came later probably thought one of the first two girls invited him so none of them wanted to question it and seem rude. This is one of Sal's legendary bits.

Sal literally convinced two different groups that he was there for a dinner that the other had invited him to. Those improv skills and acting skills are insane.
He didn't. The first group knows he doesn't know them but they're letting him stay. The second group doesn't know.

You'd be surprised how much trust you can gain from confidence. I was the "smart" guy in school, and there was one social studies class where he would give us all the questions and possible (multiple choice answers) before the test, and we could look them up. Some were very obscure and hard to find, and sometimes one or two or three questions out of 40 or 50 or so were so obscure I'd just give up looking for them. I always got an A, so sometimes people would ask me for answers. I'd say 19/20 times I knew the answer, the 1/20 I'd just give them the answer I thought it was, and they'd believe me every time.

At one point u see them looking at each other which is them confirming none of them invited him so then they assume one of the other 2 girls invited him. Thats the hard part the easy part was when the other 2 came he was already sitting there and he greeted them so of course they were gonna think he was already invited since at that point the 2 first girls had already accepted it.
This is by far sal's finest hour.

I would say this is the single best set in impractical jokers. Up until I saw this Sal was my least favorite in the crew because I didn’t like how whiny he was with gross things + cats + birds etc. Didnt see what he brought to the table. But this changed my perspective entirely, dude is a master at disarming people.

Social skills aside, its smart too. Sal chose a table with two empty chairs, which meant other people might be joining them. Also, he joined them when pizza just arrived. That meant, the new ones might be joining very soon. He could confuse both at the same time. Really smart choice and execution by Sal.

I think the reason why this worked so well is because this might have been a friends introductory dinner where they meet up to introduce themselves I got that from where one of the women was introducing herself to the other and she said “nice to meet you” and like other comments stated they just assumed he was with the other party so it was the perfect storm of events and sal knows how to talk

They've stated that they do multiple takes of each turn so each joker actually "wins" and "loses" several times in a challenge and then they edit it down to whatever's funnier. It's not exactly fake or staged but it is set up to get the best product possible because of course it is. It's television.

People say Sal altered reality, but to be fair, I think reality altered the situation for Sal. The timing of the two new arrivals just as the girl with the girlfriend was starting to get mad, was just insane. Sal is usually the soft one throughout the years, but this is his best performance yet, to the point that the 3 guys forgot to tell him what to say because they were just not expecting anyone to pull through this challenge.
