"you're not alone" (in my singing voice) LOL At the beginning of this video I thought "is she nuts, changing a beautiful door to that?" but after all was done, much respect and kudos to her amazing transformation! And while I love the 1st one, I like both so much that I am doing the same update to my front door! ;)
The original door was so very rich and beautiful. But what I think isn’t important. What you love at your home is what’s important. Amazed at all you can do!!
That is a sure sign that your grandfather is with you while you are doing your projects. He is there for sure. I’m a true believer in the afterlife. Our relatives that have passed have ways to send signs and signals (in many forms including the “look a like”) onto our paths as a way to say hello. They want to communicate with us and usually do...however most times we are so busy we don’t notice the signs they send. You are truly blessed and deep down you know he was saying hello because it made you emotional. Much love to you.
That door looks amazing! Your Grandpa was with you for this one for sure. I love that you shared that part with us and didn't keep it out of the video. I love your channel.
I adored your story about the man who resembled your grandpa and even shed a tear with you. I am so excited about trying something similar with my front door. Thank you for sharing your heart + skills! 💓
I hope you take a moment to be proud of yourself. Even when the job is out of your comfort zone you still go for it. It looks amazing. You're an inspiration x
I updated some beat up, old closet doors in my abnb, money was tight couldn’t afford new ones. Used peel and stick wood looking tile, it turned out very nice. It’s been a year and they still look good. I ended up getting a whole box of wood looking tiles for about $30 dollars. Really brightened up the room. If anyone wants a pic, will be happy to share.
Its definitely no coincidence you found the right screws at a place you saw someone who looked like your grandfather. He made sure that man was there looking like him to remind you he's there with you! 💜💚 and man that door turned out amazing! I can't get over how talented you are girl! You're amazing at what you do!!
I believe that was 100% your grandpa's way of showing you he is seeing all your amazing projects and still has a hand in helping you become the awesome DIYer that you are!
Good morning Kylie: I have a couple of questions. But firstly and more importantly, congratulations on turning an outdated front door into a beautiful contemporary/eclectic and welcoming entry into your lovely warm home environment. It makes a huge statement of class and sophistication. Further, because LVP is manufactured to look like the real thing (wood in this case), I believe the style and design is timeless and blends well with any type of existing interior or exterior decor. And it appears you have wood plank flooring inside your home, so the door in fact accentuates a beautiful and existing feature. It’s absolutely brilliant and I’m grateful for your excellent instructions and sharing your knowledge with us. I also applaud you for thinking outside the box in order to accomplish your vision. In my opinion, someone who tackles these types of projects have to have at least a modicum of independent thinking because it seems something always requires tweaking and every job and job site is different. Before I post my queries, I want to offer my 2 cents on the peep hole. If you don’t have a camera/video doorbell or some other type of device which allows you and your family to see who’s at the door, in my opinion, definitely continue with the installation. Yes you have sidelites, but the point of a peephole is to covertly see who is there. Looking out a window doesn’t qualify as covertly. And don’t forget, your visitors may be looking into your home. The door in the house I recently bought didn’t have a peephole, but did have one clear sidelite. People would come over, ring my doorbell then peer through the narrow window….always. Of course if they saw me, I had no choice but to answer. So I had the sidelite frosted with light-penetrating film (doesn’t reveal interior shadows either), then I installed the peephole (honestly, that was one of the only projects I’ve ever done that is actually quick and easy). I LOVE the privacy I’m now afforded by seeing who is at my door without them seeing me seeing them. Actually it’s kinda like caller ID on a phone, isn’t it. That feature allows us a see who’s calling us and then we can decide if we want to engage in a conversation with them or not. The peephole is the same concept except the interaction with the person(s) on the other side is physically waiting out there. The peephole and frosted glass allows you to make the decision whether to open your door or not! And the peephole or the frosted glass certainly is not unpleasant to look at or in anyway distracting from the beautiful door. Ok a couple questions…..1) are you at liberty to share the specifics of the LVP you used. In other words, brand and color. 2) the backing you removed is that considered a sound or moisture barrier and is it on to of a form layer? I ask because I want to know what to look for when I shop for LVP for my door. Yes. You and your project definitely inspired me. Let’s hope the HOA in my community will okay something than a traditionally painted door. 3) to clarify, you chose the design of the material so the spacing of the individual LVP planks will be obvious and the door doesn’t look like one slab of wood (of course, the pattern would assure it wasn’t a slab but I think it’d look hinky). So those are my questions and my thoughts on you and your excellent design choices and ability. You’re a joy to watch and from whom to learn. Thank you. Take care! Ciao
GORGEOUS door make-up! You made me cry when you finally found the right screws and the man looked like your Grandpa. Then the Judds song popped into my head.
My goodness! The door turned out lovely and then you got me all up in my feels. I’m glad that Grandpa showed himself in some form after you thought of him that morning. Seems like it was a blessing! God Bless 💝
Oh my goodness!!! Never in a million years did I ever think about putting flooring on a door. Kylie, you blew it out of the park. what a creative way to transform your door. 🤯 mind blown. Way to go!! 💜 what a sweet memory of your grandpa.
Great job. It's beautiful! The grandfather moment broke me down . He is proud of you and he is always with you. And to share that side of yourself with your tears makes you even more beautiful than you already are.
The door turned out amazing. I know the feeling when you want to just call someone and show them something you have done and they have passed on. I have always been told that everyone has a twin in the world. I never believed it till my Grandpa passed away and it was almost a year later that I was at Walmart and just happen to glance over at a man and I thought I was going to pass out because he looked so much like my Grandpa. All the color in my face must of went out because he came up to me and asked if I was okay. I explained to him what was going on. My Grandpa wore bib overalls all the time and this man even had the bib overalls on. I was my Grandpa's sidekick growing up so to see this man just floored me. This nice man that I had never met before came up to me as I was leaving and gave me a tight hug and told me that maybe my Grandpa sent him to let me know how proud of me he was and the tears started rolling down my face. Grandpa's are very special and nobody could ever replace them but that man that day sure knew what to say to make me feel like my Grandpa was still here. 💕
I went to a botanical garden with plants from all around the world and I was thinking the whole time how much my grandpa who passed away 6 years ago would have loved it (he was a botonist). Then I spotted an older man with the exact same build and profile as my grandpa in what could have been his clothes. It made me feel like he was watching over me. I'm sure your grandpa was doing the same. ❤️
Oh my gosh Kylie.... That door is GORGEOUS!!! You did an absolute FANTASTIC job on that door! The hardware and black trim looks perfect!!! Actually, your front porch gives me the vibe of an "Oriental Modern Look" If you were to replace the two plants on the side of your door, on the front porch with two huge bonsai trees, it would look real nice? (But, that's just me only because I love Oriental Decor) It looks so beautiful now the way you have it as well. Everything you do turns out so NICE!!! 👍👍👍👍👍 5 Thumbs up for a GREAT JOB!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍❤️❤️❤️
I have had a stack of oak planks and stain sitting around to do the exact same thing with, but honestly, I think I'll do vinyl now after seeing this. I bet it will hold up to weather better and be easier to work with. Looks great!
KYLIE !! You knocked it out the park !! I love it and you're so right, it matches the exterior so much better now. Thank you for including your emotional "wink" from your Grandpa.
I wanted to cry…. I know exactly what you felt. One day driving to work, there was a man walking on the side of the road that was a spitting image of my grandpa. Like how he was dressed, the hat he wore… and since then, i see him from time to time in the grocery store. I believe my grandpa visits me in those moments 💕😊
Just… Wow! It looks fantastic! The part about your Grandpa was so touching. That was definitely his way of letting you know he’s been right there with you in all of the challenging projects you have taken on and nailed. 💕
Thank you for sharing this journey of succes, emotion and joy. The door is a pearl on your DIY crown. Your grandpa look a like should be adopted by you. And now you can enjoy your door every day. It is really up to you if you want to have a spy eye to check who is on your doorstep. Be proud of yourself, great job! Sending compliments and much love 🥰
Callie your talent amazes me every time. The door just completely transformed right before our eyes. Definitely a better look. And honey I know exactly where you are coming from with seeing someone that resembled your Grandpa. I had a similar experience at my work one time. And it shook me to my core. I was beside myself. Hugs! 🥰🥰
OMG, the door came out beautiful !! You're right, no need for the peep hole on the outside. 🥰 Sending you hugs in memory of your Grandpa. In his own way, he visited you that day. 💖
I wish I have your strong body. Because I am still processing to get recovered from hip replacement surgery and staying at home....so peace from the nightmare rehab center. They kept waking me up all night like checking my pressure, draining my blood for tests, and all....for several days. I wanted to come home and be alone...so I can sleep long...I like watching you doing this to your cute home...:)
Aw Kylie! I know how you feel! I lost my Grampa 10 years agonthis past June. And what I would give to just have one more talk with him!🥺 He was a carpenter as well, I have been doing a lot of projects that I wish I could just call him over to look at!! I miss him so incredibly much. Thanks for your videos, you have really gave me some amazing ideas. I absolutely love all of your work! I'm still waiting in NC😂have a Blessed weekend💜Lots of Love from NC🤗✌🏼
I looked that door on pottery barn and there are several different pics of it advertising different wreaths you can buy there. Even pics with your new hardware! U knocked this project out of the park! In fact, yours looks better than theirs!!!
Kylie I love the door makeover it does look soooo modern I just love it! I think your grandpa was with you during this makeover. I think he would be so proud of you! Thank you for leaving that part in your video!
You are a true visionary!! As many projects as i take on I was weary when I saw this one. But you championed this! It looks amazingly beautiful! IMO You don't need a peep hole. Yes, you need a more stream and straight lines table. OAN...love your video! you're so sensitive, and inspiration...such great vibe, I am a new fan!
I think I love it as much as you do! Also, think you made the right choice not bringing the peep hole all the way through. I was surprised that adding depth to the front of the door didn’t cause a problem with closing it.
WOW! JUST WOW! That turned out Awesome! I'm watching and in the beginning I was thinking, Kylie, you have the tools and the skills just custom make it. But this was easier and less expensive. And just beautiful! You are so talented, you amaze me with every project you do. This is my favorite by far of all your projects. God bless you! Enjoy your new front door!
Kylie your work is just amazing i love everything you do love watching your channel but you had me in tears talking about your grandpa i,ve been thinking about my mum all day its her anniversary of her passing next week i always get emotional the week before lol but love your door it looks amazing xxx
Need the hole in the exterior...... When you open the door and walk outside and look back at it, the edge with the hinges shows and looks odd (brown). If you tape trim around the hinges you could paint that edge black and it wouldn't look so weird. It's beautiful. What a dramatic change!
Oh my gosh, I hardly ever comment, but this video had me crying so had I don't ever hardly ever cry with a video but this one really got me, first about your grandpa cuz I've been there before and then you cry so sad then to see the door and see how happy it made you I cried again silly I know anyway I just love watching your videos you do amazing work just thought I'd comment today love watching your videos Sarah from Helena Montana
This is why I can’t watch your new videos….. Project starting tomorrow on my front door! I absolutely love this! We have an old mobile home where we can’t just go to the store and buy a door cause they don’t fit. I don’t plan on reframing my whole home to have proper doors and all, so that being said! I absolutely love this. You really did kill it as always!!! Ahhh. It’s absolutely beautiful and definitely know I can do it too! Thank you for posting this. Wow! ❤
You have those nice windows on each side of the door. You don’t need a peephole. I never use the peephole on our door. I use the window next to the door. Love that look!
That door looks amazing, I wonder do you think that could be done with a metal door with out nails just glueing, just amazing. Love the color. Your so very talented
If you drill through the door for the peephole, you paint it black so it matches and goes with the rest of the hardware on the door. I do LOVE the change though...it's awesome! :)
Loved the traditional, but Love love the new and improved door. Would like to borrow you for a month or come visit you for a year of apprenticeship and soak in everything I can from you. Love DIY projects, but need someone to teach me how to use tools. Love everything you do but mostly love your tender heart for your family.
The door looks so incredible Kylie. You are so creative and talented! I love it! I have never seen that before. At the moment, I too prefer no peep hole at front, but if times continue to get worse than at least we know you're skilled enough to do it! Congrats on another amazing outcome! 😍😎
Ok so before we even get started on watching the whole video I'm gonna need you to take that blue KitchenAid mixer and wrap it up in bubble wrap and go ahead and ship it out to me 😂😂😂. I have always always wanted one and that's my fav color. I'm definitely an adult considering I'm having KitchenAid mixer envy lmao
Lots of hard work, it looks great! The black trim is perfect especially on the outside because the garage window is trimmed in Black! What does Mark think? I wish you would have gotten his reaction!💕⚘
IMO I believe your grandfather and God heard you that morning and you were blessed enough to see him at the store Maybe, that was his way of telling you he's ALWAYS with you.
Kylie it’s beautiful yes you needed the black. You need to paint you planters at the door outside black too they clash a bit with the warmth of the door or if you have extra flooring you should recover them to match your door. leave the eye hole off you don’t need it really how often did you use it?
Don't be embarrassed the Love you have for your Grandfather would never go away and it is so special for you and the entire is gorgeous I love it just wondering how your husband is sleeping while you are working 😂 he does mind which is wonderful you are so talented love it
Kylie you did an Amazing job 🖤 Love the new door and all the black frame🖤 it looks beautiful.. Kylie all your projects are always Amazing, keep doing what you love to do.. Love watching you do Amazing projects 🖤🖤
Stunning, now if you decide to ever hang a wreath use that command hook hack on back of door where the ribbon goes over the top and NO holes on front of door.
I love the sleek look. No peep hole as would break up the look. Sorry you got upset. Things like that happen to us at the strangest times. Im sure he is so proud of you and rightly so. You are a star x
Am I the only one who loves both doors esthetically but is in LOVE with the before ❤
"you're not alone" (in my singing voice) LOL At the beginning of this video I thought "is she nuts, changing a beautiful door to that?" but after all was done, much respect and kudos to her amazing transformation! you're not alone. The before was so beautiful and has so much character. both doors bring different vibes though

Shelly, that white embossed fabric is beautiful!! You should use it somewhere in your house!!!!
The door is amazing!! But the real reason I watch your blogs is you. I love your light and positivity. Makes my day better. ❤️
My goodness! The door turned out lovely and then you got me all up in my feels. I’m glad that Grandpa showed himself in some form after you thought of him that morning. Seems like it was a blessing! God Bless 💝

Is it just me? Or is this crafty Scar-Jo? GREAT DIY!

Be proud of yourself, great job! Sending compliments and much love 🥰
Awesome endeavor and enjoyed being taken to the stores for the fun but also frustrations. Thanks for sharing and positive attitude.

I love this project. What was Mark’s reaction? And as others have said, Grandpa was with you. It is evident that he guided that man.
It looks so good and so much brighter. Beautiful.
Early!!! Just came from watching Anaveah’s birthday vlog
Fantastic! Just get a ring doorbell with video screen then you don’t need a peep. Love the modern look!
You have those nice windows on each side of the door. You don’t need a peephole. I never use the peephole on our door. I use the window next to the door. Love that look!
What a marvelous upgrade to your door!! Super beautiful, super chic, super curb appeal- JUST AWESOME !🎉🎉
Would love seeing Marks reaction.
I love your new door. 🎉 for doing it.
I absolutely love this!!! It changes your whole vibe on your front porch.
That door looks absolutely amazing. I might have to re-do all of our inside doors with that technique.
This has been my favorite so far! I love your heart....and the door. God bless. 🙂
Your Grandpa would be extremely proud of you,I love what you did with the door 🤍🙏🤍
Loved the traditional, but Love love the new and improved door. Would like to borrow you for a month or come visit you for a year of apprenticeship and soak in everything I can from you. Love DIY projects, but need someone to teach me how to use tools. Love everything you do but mostly love your tender heart for your family.
Wow! Absolutely beautiful. You did an awesome job! Girl, you got me thinking seriously about my door now. Can't wait to see what you do next.
Agaiiiin Kylie just did her MAGIC🧚🧚🧚🧚🧚🧚
Grandpa is surely your protective angel ❤
Wow that’s awesome. I love watching your videos and you make everything so easy! Love from Canada. 🥰🥰🥰
Omg love it I have been wanting to do this, but wasn't sure, now it definitely happening. Thanks 😊
absolutely gorgeous, i love that color and the black, makes it even better. another amazing transformation.
Aww..I wanted to hug you so bad when I saw you crying.. you are so talented.. this door caused you alot of frustration but what a great job
The door looks so incredible Kylie. You are so creative and talented! I love it! I have never seen that before. At the moment, I too prefer no peep hole at front, but if times continue to get worse than at least we know you're skilled enough to do it! Congrats on another amazing outcome! 😍😎
The new door looks great. The black trim works great with it. My door at my new built house does not have a look out jole in it. Great job!❤❤
Awe, I think your grandpa sent you a sign!
Your door turned out beautifully!
Excellent idea. Good job!
There is amazing signs from your grandpa that he sees you and knows he's by your side he knows he's watching you
I like the character of the old door, I would have painted the old door black.
Looks great
Oh Kylie, I should have known you would paint. That is gorgeous.
Looks great. Nice job
Your so talented Kylie and I am sure your grandpa was with you all the was love ❤🙏
Love it!!! Great job 😍
Don't be embarrassed the Love you have for your Grandfather would never go away and it is so special for you and the entire is gorgeous I love it just wondering how your husband is sleeping while you are working 😂 he does mind which is wonderful you are so talented love it
Looks Great, Kylie! I love the black trim.
Thank you so much!!

Stunning, now if you decide to ever hang a wreath use that command hook hack on back of door where the ribbon goes over the top and NO holes on front of door.
WOW KYLIE......... That looks sooooo good
I love the sleek look. No peep hole as would break up the look. Sorry you got upset. Things like that happen to us at the strangest times. Im sure he is so proud of you and rightly so. You are a star x
