I tried to watch this show as a child and hated it. I didn't understand it. I used to ask myself why this was on Comedy Central. but I'm watching now as an adult and man. I slept on this for years. this is gold !!!
Thanks to this show and 'Hey Arnold!' I now think that instead of normal city noise New York has this jazzy piano thing going on 24/7 throughout the city.
My favorite is when Todd Barry talks about how he won't allow men to smoke in his place but he's fine with women smoking "God bless her for being there!"
Dr Katz CHA CHA CHA I think that I'm fallin for Dr Katz CHA CHA CHA Anyone else know that episode??? I always hear that in my head when I watch this show😍😍😻😻
lol I already lost it with Ben before the 1 minute mark....lmao Ben. Makes the show...I love the interactions between him and his dad in the morning. good times
This is no time to show brand loyalty, you know what I mean? I love this show. I do think they perfected this style of comedy with Home Movies, but these scenes are just gold. I can recognise Coach McGur......uh BEN he really makes me laugh at times.
@@ClunFunDun Dru Langlois does squiggle vision type stuff but Joel Haver is rotoscoping or something similar I think. It does have the same shaky, LSD trip effect tho
Don't forget Louie, chapelle and regan also ramono oh yeah patton and joan was great. Attel, maron, l could go on but you should get the point which is that this is one of the greatest shows ever! 2020 still funnier than most shows that are on any streaming service or tv if anybody still watches cable tv. Sandra Bernhard--absolutely legendary.... Directed by Scorsese, and co-starred with De Niro and Jerry Lewis, in The King of Comedy (1983).... Gorgeous and freaky, outside and inside; whip-quick wit, voracious intelligence, and genuine engagement.... See any of her Letterman appearances.... Just an overwhelming and compelling dame.... this show is absolute genius. its a great show to have on in the wee hours of the night. its definitely a late night show.

pepe6666 just imagine this show now in 2019...ughhh how epic would that be?! who do we need to contact to make this happen!!! now!?

but I'm watching now as an adult and man. I slept on this for years. this is gold !!!
I only ever knew this show from South Park and Family Guy poking fun at it before I actually started watching it.
really???? i loved this as a teen. it could be hard for kids to get because of the subtleties and a lot of the comedy is in the language.
"She was carrying grocerys, but she was doing it so provocatively"
I’m thinking curfew
"groceries"
Thanks to this show and 'Hey Arnold!' I now think that instead of normal city noise New York has this jazzy piano thing going on 24/7 throughout the city.
That's real
And that electric organ sound
It does. Music goes on constantly and we can't sleep.
I'm pretty sure this show is implied to be in Boston. They did actually record and animate it there. Katz did and still does reside in Cambridge.
@@SleeperInTravel Oh, I didn't know that. So do you guys have the jazzy soundtrack in Boston too? :D

...have a book burning.... god bless her for showing up 😂
@David Williams - me, too!!! This was always one of my favorite skits from the whole series!!!
That was hilarious!! God bless her for showing up!!!
I like how Todd Barry is both a patient and the Vic’s video clerk and he doesn’t even attempt to voice them differently 😆
I never realized! I hear it now!
Wow! I just heard that and I’ve seen every episode multiple times… good call.
Great comic. I love his dry, sarcastic delivery.
I like to think that dealing with Ben probably drove Todd to therapy.
And they are both called Todd.
Dr Katz CHA CHA CHA I think that I'm fallin for Dr Katz CHA CHA CHA Anyone else know that episode??? I always hear that in my head when I watch this show😍😍😻😻
Dom Iera...can't spell lol
My favorite scene
Yes, Dom Irerra.
I think the episode you're thinking of is called "Chopper"
Dom "I'm not going bald, I have the barber cut my hair into a V in the front" Irrera.
I laugh my ass off every time I hear him go off on Laura over the phone.
"It's the same selfish crap I've had to deal with ..."
To this day Ben is still on that couch, trying to figure out what he wants to do in life,
I think he became a spy actually.
And, I heard he got married had three really interesting kids and now run’s a burger joint.
Without matching socks
And burns the Thanksgiving turkey every year.

Todd Barry was always a favorite of mine. His dry and underhanded delivery complements the show's dynamic so perfectly.
Ben is off Panda Puffs and is now eating Koala Krisp?
Maybe they have a different set of figurines.
"A woman who was ... _applying her trade"_ - that's a good one
"I didn't take her up on her offer," lol!
to "ply one's trade" is a phrase, often (as here) euphemistic
"The truth is, I don't really have that much training." One of the best lines in the series
Loved the squiggle vision. Funny writing.

Totally agree. Home Movies was the high peak of the art form...
I don't know why this format died out though, comics always need an outlet

to be honest i doubt this show had a script
It was “Retroscripted” - a brief outline of the story and lots of improvisation
The scene at the bar .. did u ever pay a prostitute? Uhhhhhh???? [Ohhhh uhhhh!!! I take that as a NO...🤣🤣🤣🤣
Isn't that male patient the same guy as the video store?

"I am a phony but im not a failure" amazing commentary on the sociological meta of mentally ill people that can afford therapy vs. those who cannot.
Didnt the dr say that?
