It was so funny. It had such a laid back, relaxed vibe to it, with the music and the way the lines were delivered. Some of the best comics ever did this show.
"In her lifetime she accomplished so much and did so much for so many people in her 92 years, which if you break it down it's really not that much considering how long she lived, but still."
I don't know why Katz and Ben were laughing so hard in this episode, but they were hilarious. It's probably my favorite episode because of how much fun they're having riffing off one another
this episode reminds me of when I went with my pop to his sister's funeral. a cousin (in his 50s) who lives down south flew up for the event. none of it was long or drawn out - a quick graveside deal. pop and I got into his grand cherokee and were about to leave, when said cousin walks up and parks himself in dad's open driverside window. cousin says, "it's been so good to see you guys, we can't just keep seeing each other at times like this." I answered, "I know, it was a grave meeting." pop and I just lost our shit, and cousin looked utterly disgusted and stormed off.
was visiting my brother in San Fran (which, as Andy says, is just south of Sausalito) & I did that bit for his Jewish friends & they thought it was really funny, without really knowing why
Every time Kats points with the index finger of his left hand, it looks like the rest of his fingers have been amputated. I mean, we're looking at him from his right side, we should see the other fingers bent down to the palm of his hand.
It was probably his first appearance on the show (it was in season one, but I don't know if he only did one episode that year), he gave two of my favorite jokes from the series: --I did some market testing to see who my audience is, and it turns out that it's men who are my age who are me. --I went on an audition recently, and I'm kind of playing around for the camera, and the guy running the audition says, "Don't be schticky." You know what that means? "We hate the Jews."
Yep, it was because he accidentally recorded talking to Laura on his audition tape that they got the parts, the producer who heard the tape wanted that sort of authentic interaction.
WAnted to tell you how much i loved the show but i'm too dissapointed w all the Masonic symbolism sprinkled throughout every show. hollywood .. what do you expect ,, such a funny show... the bar 33// Eye in the clock.. on and on.. really sucks..+
Lately I find myself binge watching Dr Katz over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and
I moved to Latin America recently and during the first three months, it was really hard. I binge watched this for days and it helped me make it through. This was new when I was in my 40’s when this came out and I still think it’s a classic.
I go to sleep to this show every night. It's so great.
Me too. Love the music too
Me too!
me too !!!!
It's very relaxing.
Me too 🥹 this is my comfort show.
"I can tell by the hysterical laughter someone in our family just died."
"One minute they're alive, the next they're dead. It's like slapstick."
Wow.... death is funny??🤔🤔🤔
@@michellec.4994 It's hilarious
Most underrated show of all time.
It was so funny. It had such a laid back, relaxed vibe to it, with the music and the way the lines were delivered. Some of the best comics ever did this show.
Underrated is a word, overrated by the wrong people.
It ran for several seasons and it earned an Emmy and a Peabody award.
Far from underrated.
It wasn’t underrated. Everyone watched it.
It's a SHOW ?...-I though I was in therapy.
"In her lifetime she accomplished so much and did so much for so many people in her 92 years, which if you break it down it's really not that much considering how long she lived, but still."
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"i realize that dragnet is very watchable when you're trying to avoid your obligations"
The stuff is so comforting and funny to watch. Just low-key dry comedy, perfect for a late night viewing
I feel you entirely.
"my second cousin, twice removed"
"That's too far away from me, dad"
😂😂
Dr. Katz bathes my soul in a soothing substance that I can neither define nor live without.
🙏🏼 reminds me of CarTalk in that way
It's called goo
@@winonafrogbrilliant analogy- I completely agree
Dr. Katz is the most lovable character ever put on television.
Not really
@@Hardcoreforliife Oh? Then who?
Even as a portly fellow ?? 😅 Yes I love when he sings, loveable dad
he's definitely up there, the only other contenders I can think of off the top of my head are abed from community and columbo
I dont know, there's this real estate ageng character from home movies who can definitely hold a candle to Dr. Katz
"One minute they're alive and the next minute they're dead, it's like slapstick." I think about this line all the time XD
when dr. katz goes to do a eulogy and Ben says 'knock em dead', i laughed so hard i almost p'd.
gonna be tough, it's my 3rd funeral this year and i'm not a mourning person
I read the comment before he said it-- I'm fucknn deaaaaad.
unki3259 They're the worst lol
Lol
One of the best episodes. Cracks me up every time. It's like slapstick!
Morty is a very worldly guy, if that's what "incontinent" means.
worldly is what jehovah's witnesses call me
@@morgue1484 they've been warned about you 😅
One of my top 5 episodes. When he said "can't hear in the back" at the funeral I lost it.
Haha, HJ Benjamin is amazing. He and Katz work so well together, I just love this show.

Sooo dead...🤣🤣🤣💕🤣🤣🤣💕🤣💕🤣🤣🤣🤣💕💕🤣🤣🤣💕
Definitely top 5!
This is what the internet is for, Dr. Katz and Home Movies episodes.
"Right next to your druthers."--Klassic Katz

Hahahaha... "I know what the music means"
lol
It's simplicity yet cleverness of the comedy and sarcasm that makes this show AWESOME !!!!
“ I’ll give ya a name ya little weasel” 💀💀
I'm discovering this in 2021. It's good.
"And I'm not a mourning person" gets me every time, even all these years later.
the death is like slapstick line made me laugh , gave me a more positive outlook
“I think I got designs on ya - bye”
Greatest father son relationship, greatest receptionist, greatest bartender.
Still watching this in 2019
great things stay great
Katz 2024
To this day when I think of Sausalito I think of Andy's mom... "Annnnndy, I want to go to Sauzalido...."
...A small fishing village north of the Golden Gate bridge nestled in lovely Marin County.
Laura was being especially nice to Ben this episode. Or at least not quite as aloof.
He’s in mourning

nope
Watching in 2023!
Nope,.2024

I wouldn't feel too bad. Definitely a staple in the punist moments
So funny reading negative comments, relax people it is a great show all around.
I remember her love and her laughter and her love of laughter
14:01 I like how when a character changes another character to tell their stories
I'd have to go with bad joke.
11:40 - "Hanging in therrre?" This is classic, golden; bring back Katz!
Andy! I wanna go to SAW-SAH-LEE-TOH
was visiting my brother in San Fran (which, as Andy says, is just south of Sausalito) & I did that bit for his Jewish friends & they thought it was really funny, without really knowing why
Wow. Most existential/absurdist intro.
If I were a cartoon, I would marry Dr. Katz!
Yeah bc chicks dig the bad boy...what else is new?
Every time Kats points with the index finger of his left hand, it looks like the rest of his fingers have been amputated. I mean, we're looking at him from his right side, we should see the other fingers bent down to the palm of his hand.
Apart from that, the animation is quite lifelike 😅
Fred Stoller is a virtuoso complainer.
Best intro in the series.
Old school Andy Kindler is hilarious
The Sausalito thing is too true if you know Jewish families from New York. They're always talking about towns around SF.
"It never really crossed my address- m-my mind"

This is a depressing event. I don’t care what anybody says.
Cant hear in the back!
"Knock 'em dead!" Bwaaahaha!!!
can't get enough Andy Kindler a.k.a. Arnold Lindenson

Ben is f@#*d up really make him live with his mom.
did you know that laura and Ben was going out together in real life. but broke up month or two before they started this show
Yep, it was because he accidentally recorded talking to Laura on his audition tape that they got the parts, the producer who heard the tape wanted that sort of authentic interaction.
This cartoon made Andy Kindler relevant for me sad cause he's funny
