You haven't heard "Salt Creek" until you've heard this

- When @oldtownschool students and up-and-coming bluegrass players @sullivansistersbluegrass started their session with an uptempo standard like "Salt Creek," our crew thought maybe we'd need a few takes to nail it. They didn't.
Luciya, Soraya, and Charlotte push new @martinguitar and @GoldTone arrivals to their flat-picking limits in a downright ambitious single take. We have a feeling they won't be playing rooms this size for long.
Cheers dont never let ol blue grass die
Some of the most articulate and precise instrumental musicianship comes out of bluegrass! Nice work!
Yep.
Larkin Poe and Molly Tuttle 💜💜
@@frankboyd. Billy Strings ain't no slouch his damn self
After dabbling a bit in bluegrass, I've realized it's because every single note is picked, nothing is left to hammer-ons or legato
@@dtanaka869-d hammer ons and legato don't get a lot of play in bluegrass lead because they don't project very well on an accoustic guitar. Plenty of pull offs though, and certainly hammer ons are used in a rhythm context. Lots of sliding into notes as well. Single note pickin is the name of the game but we still use plenty of those other techniques.
Sounds great Ladies, very well done, glad to see younger generation Loving BLUEGRASS!
Wow, these youngsters can really play! 2 big thumbs up!
Excellent pickin'...had the pleasure to see Tony Rice, Molly Tuttle, Billy Strings, and Doc Watson play it live so, yeah I have heard it. By the best...
My goodness, Sullivan Sisters,
what you can do !
There is often some magic when siblings play together. A very enjoyable performance!
This is the first fiddle tune I learned on my uncles old Martin 30 years ago. Still run through it once and a while nowadays. Just like my uncle told me 30 years ago, makes me happy to see the younger folks keeping the ol wheel rollin. Thanks y’all. Never stop.
‘Rhythmically advanced and great communication between the musicians. Most importantly, it has lots of spirit and fun.
I JUST LOVE ME SOME FOLK MUSIC...a bunch of musicians, usually sitting in a circle, or around a fire, picking and grinning, and passing the Lead to the person on their right and listen to the piece increase as it progresses around the circle. We used to have a ball, doing that in our younger days. Carpal Tunnel and I can't even form a cord any more, but it's nice to see these young people taking up the torch & running with it.
Very impressive, nicely done ladies. That’s some fine pickin.
What A treat to be able to see and hear these talented young folks play! They are so clean and fast.
Just really good - a real nice feel - particularly when the banjo is taking the lead with the rhythm guitars in support.
And a real nice bit with banjo and guitar together at the end.
Yea. These girls are great. I have daughters and granddaughters and I’m biased. I love it when girls succeed with their talents.
Wow! You girls are fabulous! Great job, everyone of you! My dad had a banjo, so I couldn’t help being partial to it, for sure, and the young lady really did a super job on it! Each of you did fantastic!
That’s some mighty fine picking🎉😊
Awesome! I first heard this song played by the Buffalo Springfield. They called it-Go and say Goodbye. Great lyrics!
There is a bunch of passed away old Irish American hill folks that are tappin' their feet in there graves. Very well done.
Who would these people be? Not Irish; maybe Scots Irish?
Germans too. The German people don’t get talked about much but a bunch of them also settled the hills. My kinfolks were from Bavaria Germany and went into the Tennessee wilderness in late 1700s
@@TheBabashee no thr two on thr left are english thr one one thr right bit more german or is it swede thrn but why wud you say thet this its obvious maybe you also fancy thrm you know thr is becoming bad blood between english n scots over this age of consent for legbut oh in scotland we dnt want it here ok its turning us unfriendly ive bin getting spam not just from here on thr telly to oh thr guna harm all thr younger girls its a spring offensive oh ha

ha
Well uts bin pissing me off proper why cant thr leave us alone i cant do nothing wots wiv thr harrass n provocation ? ☹️
@@TheBabashee they would be a mix of Irish, Scottish, English and Welsh mostly. But also other European countries too. All traditional folk didn’t just come from Ireland. St Anne’s reel - Ireland, soldiers Joy - Scotland, shady grove - England
