    I practiced cuts on myself until I gained confidence and asked my friends if I could cut their hair and I’m glad to have supportive homies.

    Chris Bosio what’s up, people don’t get an opportunity to see you, you’re a superstar in the industry. You see the spam easy. They just want to get their questions answered. You said so yourself it’s hard for you to see all the questions but you tend to see those spams. That’s a great way to be seen unfortunately. Love your work keep pushing and I hope to meet you one day I’m from North Carolina Darwin Young.

    You’re right bossio, my school tuition is 17500 and we don’t get enough education or tools for it to be that much. Basically self taught myself how to fade watching videos and shadowing good barbers around me. My school has gave me experience cutting hair but that’s about it.

      Not at all, I know people in their 40s and 50s in school for barbering rn. Never too late to has a passion and have goals. I'm almost 30 and I'm in school rn, I took 10 years to go to school and I should have done it sooner so go asap if you really want it

    Why do some barbers start their haircut with trimmers and some with their clippers? Which is most effective? And I mean putting the first line

    • @oledevon
      @oledevon 2 роки тому +1

      Safer doing it with clippers

    • @kingmacloots7137
      @kingmacloots7137 2 роки тому

      Usually they start with trimmers if it’s going to be a bald fade, if it’s with clippers then it’ll be just a zero fade, well that’s just me!

    • @oledevon
      @oledevon 2 роки тому

      If you set your bald line with clipper closed then come back beneath that with the trimmer it is safer for when taking the bald line out. Just don’t push the trimmer all the way up to your clipper closed. That should help you out.

    • @rafa6600
      @rafa6600 2 роки тому

      i just use the trimmers because its faster when i do a bald fade but if they dont ask for a fade which is rare id use the clipper, i dont use clipper / trimmer because its time consuming to me, depends what your doing tho like the guy said above

    Question for the barbers out there. Do we have to close the lever when cutting? Can't you fade a No Guard (Open), into a # 1/2 guard (open), into a 1 guard (open) without having to close the guard?

    • @kingmacloots7137
      @kingmacloots7137 2 роки тому +3

      It will tend to leave a line on the head, so that’s why we close it to make sure it’s faded out.

    • @davidgomez344
      @davidgomez344 2 роки тому +1

      the more u close the lever the shorter it leaves the hair for example a number one open is pretty much a 1.5 closed and a 1 closed is pretty much the half guard open

      @@davidgomez344 Thanks David. That's what I was thinking. I was just trying to oversimplify the cut without involving the lever into it. So you think I could get away with leaving it open with no guard, 1/2 guard, 1 guard, and 2 guard and it would fade properly?

    • @arbupsz1056
      @arbupsz1056 2 роки тому +1

      @@gharris6944 No way, man. You would have to close the lever without having any guard on anyway as open lever without guard usually leaves you with sth about 1,5mm hair length (depending on the clipper and if it's zerogapped or not). However, fading properly using the way and the guards you mentioned is possible but it would require tremendous skill and it leaves huge opportunity for a mistake. Don't make your life harder. That's just my opinion.
