    I describe Serge Ramelli as the most kind and open minded "world renowned photographer." Just imagine other famous photographer showing such kind of tutorials/tricks would charge you $100 even if it means to show you their little glimpse of secrets followed by their flattering long speech making you dumb. Honestly watching Serge tuts has taken my photography to wonders. He is very practical.

    Hi Serge! I'm just thinking the following: I see (on this video) you kept moving your histogram more to the left on each photo. Did you want not to overexpose the sky? Wouldn't it be better to take a pic as bright as possible (without overexposition) to get more details in shadows and then to lower the exposition in LR?

    • @michaelkent7102
      @michaelkent7102 6 років тому +1

      Роман Білковський not really . Because the camera picks amazing amounts of details in the shadows , and only a few in ths highlights. Its called "expose for the sky" .Try it for yourself. Shoot same view twice : one where details are amazing in the shadow but overexposed sky, and one thats a bit darker but the sky exposed properly. U will be amazed by what the underexposed one can do

    To use your presets, is needed take underexposed photos?

    • @zarathsutra
      @zarathsutra 6 років тому +13

      Four easy steps:
      1. Take a bad photo that is underexposed as hell.
      2. Apply a filter that makes it look nothing like it was in reality.
      3. Post on the Internet and say the photo is "exactly like how it was in reality".
      4. Forget to realize your before and after comparison reveals you are a phony.

    • @LimitedSpectrum
      @LimitedSpectrum 6 років тому +2

      How is it being a phony by using your own photos and presets?

    • @ey3tech58
      @ey3tech58 6 років тому +3

      Linus Talltjarn you have 2 choice:
      - take hdr photos
      -take underexposed photos because yoy can easily recover shadows whereas highlights its more difficult thats why its a good way to take a good shot instead doing a right exposed photos

    • @zarathsutra
      @zarathsutra 6 років тому +2

      +Ey3tech Yes, that is absolutely true and something that should be encouraged to get the most out of your photos. But the point I'm trying to make is that the oversaturated HDR look in this video is not something you should be reaching for if you want to be taken seriously as a photographer.

    • @bobbyryanart
      @bobbyryanart 6 років тому +5

      Its art, not just a reality of the surroundings. If you want a boring pic, don't shoot in raw and don't edit at all.

  • @davidschmitzviola
    @davidschmitzviola 5 років тому

    I don't think it should be the goal to minimize the time editing my pictures by applying presets. I agree with you on the fact that being outside and taking the pictures should be the main focus of a photographer's work. But then people should either try and master the photography game as much as no or little editing is REQUIRED, (and just shoot in JPEG), OR take more time on developing pictures so that a nice, subtle and fitting result is achieved. Minimizing the time by random presets that just do random things to my pictures and make them SO different from the originals just can't be the solution. You say that your presets are only the starting point. Agreed! But then your time argument doesn't count anymore - and then I can also just move three sliders by myself.
