@@DavidArellano-z2m That’s amazing that you’ve trained Aikido for over 14 years in Mexico and even in Canada-that`s so much experience! I completely agree, transitioning from a rigid breakfall to a smooth one is definitely challenging. But I’m sure you’ll master it with practice! Wishing you lots of success and fun on your Aikido journey. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi from ACSA Aikido switzerland. Unfortunately I’m injured since 7 months with only 50% of aikido practice. I hope I’ll get the recovery soon in 2025. Your channel showing the leaf 🍃 falls are well explained. Vielen Danke 🥋
@@Tomasdreams Vielen Dank! :-) Thank you for watching my video-I`m glad you found it helpful! I’m sorry to hear about your injury and hope 2025 will bring you a great restart and that you’ll be able to enjoy Aikido injury-free again. Take care and all the best for your recovery!
Thank you for this video. I practiced judo for years and never realized that there are such subtile ways to do ukemi. I feel that we in judo fall "hard" compared to aikido.
Thank you for watching. I also feel that way even though I have never practiced judo myself. In aikido there are also many rather "hard" falling techniques that are very similar to those in judo. But I think this soft version is a valuable addition to any ukemi repertoire.
@@thomas.inauen I totally agree with you. Not only is having the skill to break fall properly an essential one, especially in old age, I must admit that the soft ukemi looks elegant.
The judo guy doesn't know what he's talking about. We're thrown much, much harder in judo, especially in randori and competition. We have to do our type of ukemi, and, frankly, it's more scientific. That being said, I also love the Aikido ukemi, which I also learned.
