i live about 5 miles from mildenhall air base & over the years there has been all different types of transport aircraft based there, kc135, c130's, c5's & c141 starlifters & e4's now all you see now is kc135's with the new cfm 56 turbofans c17's c130's & the odd c5 & kc10
believe when you live close to mildenhall the difference in noise levels massive compared to the old KC 135's with the J57's & the one fitted with the cfm 56's. & when the CF56 is fitted to civilians aircraft its called CF56 but when they're fitted to military aircraft they're called CFM56 so do you think the M stands for military
Used to do the wheels and brakes on the KC 10 during 1990 -1993 during Gulf 1 at BFGoodrich Aerospace in New Brunswick NJ . was a very dirty job lots of brake carbon lol all over the place . My hair ,car , home.
that second one turned on his front wheels after stopping wouldn.t that damage his tyre I was always taught when truck driving to move when turning wheels so as not to damage tyres. Anyway great crisp clear vid good viewing thanks
The USAF are due to leave by 2023, when it will be handed back to the owners, MoD (Ministry of Defence), who have no use for it, so it will be sold for housing. The tankers will move to Ramstein, Germany. At the moment it is still very busy. ..
Amazing video,I love the sound of roaring engines when they're at full throttle ready to take off!
