      Stuff like that really blows my mind, the difference between dying in your 90's and dying in your 40's. By 40, you've already lived a life. It's not old, but that's a full life. Pat Cooper outlived Patrice by half a century.

    I realize he was already a veteran comedian in the business, but the fact that Pat was not intimidated in the slightest by Patrice. Not his size, not his humor, not him always trying to cut in. Pat put him down and would finish his story and sentenced before he let any one else finish for him

    The difference between Patrice and Pat is Patrice knew how to take his foot off the gas, and that's why he was better. People like Pat, whether they're comedians or not, whether they're trying to be funny or not, all it takes is one stealthy comment at the right time, and and they keep driving, right off a cliff. This dynamic reminded me a lot of Herzog and Kinski.

    I can’t recall the last time i listened to something again immediately afterwards, but this deserves a second listen. I had never heard of Pat Cooper, but he was as good as any comedian I’ve ever heard just shooting the shit on a talk show. And Patrice was there with him, who is usually the funniest guy in the room. Probably out of respect, he played the straight man, and kept setting up Pat to knock’em out of the park. This would’ve been even better with Jim Norton. Good thing Opie sat shut up in a corner eating.
