Hey, love your videos. Your advice and tips are so helpful.
I started a clothing brand as a side hustle a few months ago and have finally managed to get a couple of sales (probably by luck). My aim is to only spend any money I get in. What's the best way to spend the little money I have? Should I buy a sample and then model it and post it on Instagram? Or should I use the money for paid ads? Or should I send a t-shirt to a local influencer and hope they wear it? Or should I pay one of these Instagram promo pages to shout out my tshirt? So many options but not sure which one is best?
Would love to hear your advice on this or any other free ways to market my brand? Thanks!

All of those are great ideas, while some have to potential for a larger impact than others. It all depends a little bit on the online store you have stood up. Either way, being forward thinking and looking to market your business is smart and a great first step.
Real model shots wearing actual apparel is a solid investment. I always encourage wearing your own shirts out all the time for more visibility, so that would be a great start. That content & photos can even be used as product images for paid ads on facebook/instagram down the road too.
Sending items to an influencer or one of the instagram promo pages can be hit or miss. Best case scenario, you get a whole bunch of new prospective customers with eyes on your brand. Worst case, they never wear it, or the promo page's audience doesn't bite- With zero results to show for it. It's best to find influencers or pages that are of similar interests to your customers or overlap your target audience in some way, and build a relationship over social media first to ensure your products will be featured. Relying on others for your marketing is always a risk, as it's somewhat out of your control.
If you do decide to go a paid ad route, ensure that the image(s)/video is something that would stop someone scrolling and have the conversion path setup well, otherwise any ad spend wont have the impact you want. To ensure you have the best chance of a purchase, be sure the ad links directly to the products shown, with as few clicks as possible to purchase. You'll want to have your store stocked with images of all the colorways, on models to show of the fit too, detail shots of the graphic and good descriptions not only describing the garment, but also expected turn times, specs about the garment, etc Think of what you look for when shopping in the store and the questions you go through (design / sizing / fit / feel /quality / etc) and answer those questions for your customers up front. Also, be sure your audiences are set to your nice or target market when you setup your paid ads, a wide audience can burn through your budget quick while not actually getting in front of possible customers, smaller and more targeted is always more effective.
tldr: Physical samples would likely be my first step, outfit yourself, friends and family, take photos and video and build out a content plan to have some great images to show off and turn into paid ads down the road. You've got a good plan, and judging by your forward thinking, those sales weren't luck at all ;)

@@transferexpress this is amazing advice thanks so much 🙏🙏🙏
As a small brand starting up i don't really have a budget so it's really good to learn how to prioritise all the ideas I have. I have quite a big niche and I'm trying to narrow it down. So what I'm doing is just going with different designs and hopefully I get a winner. And then focus on that winner and niche down that way.
Anyways keep up all the good work on your videos. There're always so detailed and helpful 🙌🙌🙌

Can you sell shirts with the event’s name on them? Or does the event owner have the rights to the name? If you can sell the event name on merchandise will the event owner want a cut of that profit?
I have a flea market coming up and there will be a horseshoe tournament being held there as well. Trying to figure out if I will be able to make shirts that say horseshoe tournament with the event name as well.

That a great question and the easiest way to find out would be to ask the event organizer. In some cases the name may be protected, but the worse they could say is "no". They may ask for a cut, or they may not. Many flea markets and farmers markets may already change a commission on sales.
Typically if you cannot use the name you can use the city name or other things that do not infringe on any copyrights. For something generic as just "Horseshoe Tournament" it's a broad enough term that would be free and clear to use, or even something like "City Name Market & Horseshoe Tournament" would likely be no issues.
