Such precision and awareness of the wing. You can see Steve feeling and listening to everything the wing is doing and harmonizing with it ...and then following with a perfect flare and landing. If only I could learn to fly with 1% of this sensitivity and skill...
I made a film in 1976 with a great crew of fellow film students and we hung 10 pound rigs on the nose plate of a Wills wing SST and got great shots from it. It is so much easier with GoPros now, it kind of makes me want to do it all over again.
Beautiful glider, and Steve is one of those guys I could just as easily imagine flying a NASA test plane. Such a smart man and great representative of the sport.
The Sport 3 is probably the most balanced glider ever made till now. Easy to launch, fly, take-off...sufficient performance to get you where you want. What an amazing time we live in - there probably has never been a time better for learning to fly than now.
I stopped flying almost 25 years ago with around 700 flight hours of mostly high mountain flying. My last 3 gliders were Pacific Airwave Magic 4's. Getting the bug to return to the sport. Would the WW Sport 3 be a good option for a mid 50's bloke yearning to once again watch the sunset in a glass off? How does this compare to a U2? Thanks
S3s are higher performance, much lighter and easier to fly than a Magic 4. You'd probably want to start with a few recurrency flights on a Falcon before the Sport 3 but otherwise you'll feel right at home. send us an email at Wills Wing and we'll try to find a local dealer to help.
I am a survivor of the 1970's hang gliding years. As a 65yo I made a comeback only to find the physicality of setting up and packing up too much for my old body. Also flying prone was killing my back. I was restricted to half-hour flights before the pain was too much. But it was fun while it lasted.
I could almost always outclimb in Pearson's 165 Spectrum anywhere I flew. Fast cruise not as good, especially when topless arrived (holy shit), but once again in lift still outclimbing all but the best pilots, especially in weak/marginal conditions. Depends how you fly and what you want to do. Getting high, enjoying, maybe 50 miles, was fun. This S3 looks like that.

I wish we had cameras like this back when I was flying a Wills Wing.

The gecko is even better. No?
Bravo! Thank you for all that you do for our sport.
I flew my S3 Race yesterday and the thing is like on rails. Nailed all 5 landings no steppers. It's a baby! Will post a video soon.
Nice video. Thank you Wills Wing boys what you are doing. I apreciate your effort.
What a lovely video, thanks for sharing...
Super cool video Steve. What are the differences to have dacron under and mylar on top and viceversa? Thanks!!
Cabalgatas Valle the Dacron sails handle a little nicer and the laminate sails are more resistant to stretching
well done! (Nice production)
makes you happy! great video
I love my sport 3. I wonder how good would a T3 be!
S3 really is a delight.
Wow God bless you sir
y por supuesto precioso vídeo
This is magical! How long does it take to prepare the hang glider before a flight? How much does a wing like this one cost?
10 - 30 minutes depending the model and how focused you are when setting up. This glider costs around $6000.
bravissimo necesitaré una de ellas dentro de poco

Very very nice
I love your gliders and I want to buy one. How do I go about it?
you can find a list of dealers at www.willswing.com/hang-glider-dealers/
FLYWillsWing, thank you so much for providing that valuable info. I assume that those dealers help one choose and customize a glider.
How much does it cost
How to make this.
Sir I like it
