Rick was grand, the first 600 he kept a m90 prop for months for me and some other manual swap bits, grabbed those on the day and had a quality chat and followed him around the track for most of it, didn't realize he had a diesel 9 that's very cool, top bloke
That was the first time I met him! He sold me some bits ridiculously cheap, I asked him if he wanted to have a walk around and he wouldn't, said nah I've got to wait here I'm selling bits to someone, now I know who it was 😃 Small world
It’s hard to loose a friend. But the good memories will always remain. Lost one of my Škoda buddies too a few years ago, but I still think about all the fun we had sharing our hobby. Beautiful tribute to Rick ❤️
So sorry to hear you've lost your friend. It's always sad saying goodbye to a car, but comparing that to losing a close friend always makes you see how we easily forget what is important and what really doesnt matter that much. Watching you work on these old swedish gems is even more enjoyable now, knowing that you're keeping up the legacy of Rick. Personally, I'm obsessed with Diesel Volvos and therefore looking forward to seeing more of his old 940! Greetings from the other side of Germany.
Car Storage is always a problem working on cars. I hate to see Ruby go but I totally understand. Space was such a problem for me that I rebuilt a 1986 Kawasaki ZL600 because motorcycles store in so much less space. Hope you and Mrs Involvo’d are doing well.
Sad to see her go but on to the next thing! Sometimes it's nice to narrow down the projects and focus on one thing at a time. I have a ton of cars and it gets difficult to decide what to work on and if I can even video it and somehow make it entertaining at the same time. I'm still missing the mattress. I have dreams it'll reappear in the next Involvo'd video
I know you have a ton I really struggle to keep up with what you have 😃 It is stressful in someway having too many, but if I had the storage space/land I'd absolutely hoard these things 😅
I learned to drive in my family's blue Volvo 240 wagon back in the day. The car will always keep a special place in my heart. As for many other Swedes.
the shed might've been a shithole, but it still kept ruby safe during her restoration. Also sad to see her go, but she'll defo have a good life with her new owner
To see Ruby waiting in the Junkyard in 2:43 was new for me. (A beautiful Junkyard btw. because of the other Volvos) It's like a wonder to me, that the brick is still in that good condition. Not too much rust, lot of rare parts still on the car, etc. Good for me.
I would love to go back and buy another one, but he's the guy that promised me a bunch of parts but then ignored us! But yeah I agree, I think we got to her just in time!
Sorry about your friend , he sounded a great fella. There’s something about old Volvos which just get in your blood ….. I’ve got a 15 year old V50 as my daily - I’d love a 240 saloon . They are just beyond cool.
Thanks! So true, definitely something about a Volvo. I hope you manage to get a 240 whilst there are still a few around, if not hopefully you can live vicariously through the channel 😃
Sad to see ruby go :( Its completely understandable to pass them along and free up some coin to do more projects. Keeping them all gets expensive quickly. Did you atleast get to keep the mattress?
Thanks man, hopefully one day we can just keep buying and not have to sell any 😃 The mattress is gone but I might have to bring another one into the channel due to popular demand
If you find a dirt cheap 940 just let me know I am from Holland and I am trying to restore my 940 but need some hard to get stuff. Love your channel btw! Sad to see ruby go.
🤣 Well hood to see the Brit expat is in a nicer shelter/garage (yes it’s me on my other UA-cam handle. Remember me from the red block Jesus video thread?)
@@Involvod When you look at the views of his videos, ironically the numbers drop with each successive video?!?!?!?!?!???? So it's no wonder he would be thinking about not doing it anymore. Great videos,so I don't understand what happened.
@@lga9046 😄 Thanks! Yeah you were interested in parts from the silver wagon, I'm breaking the latest red one now, no one wanted it whole! Sent some parts to the states already but the shipping was a fair chunk!

Thank you for the kind words! Me too, those 6 cylinder van engines sound so great 😄

I miss working on bikes, they can fit inside your kitchen when it's cold too 😅 Thanks Johnny, always appreciated!

Thanks for watching 🙏

They are certainly special, the Swedes sure know how to build a car
Now that you're moved I can say that the old place gave me the creeps! New place looks much safer! Glad Ruby got a good new home!
Haha, if it was anywhere but relatively safe Berlin I wouldn't have taken it
And thanks, me too!
Watching your old 240 drive away is gut wrenching.
Yeah I know, not really a smart thing to sell a 240, but I still have one (that now I can say I do much prefer) that's definitely a keeper!
Thanks for the recap video! It's great to see Ruby finding a new home. Keeping old cars is a challange. Need to build me some garage/shed next year😀
Thanks! Yeah especially with the winters you get!
Hell of a thing loosing a mate, Rick would be proud, and this recap shows just how much you have done :D
I hope so! Thanks 🙂
Goodbye Ruby, you will miss her Sledge but she's going to a great home. Stay safe.
Thank you 😊
You scared me for a moment, I thought you had sold everything but I’m so glad you’re keeping Lily but sad to see Ruby go.
I don't think I could survive without at least one Volvo 😄
the shed might've been a shithole, but it still kept ruby safe during her restoration. Also sad to see her go, but she'll defo have a good life with her new owner
That's the word I was looking for 😄 Thanks, she will, he's already done a bunch of things on her!

Brilliant video 👏 really made me laugh but also a lovely tribute to your friend ❤️ bye Ruby ❤️ xx
Thank you 😊
Its a bit sad to see both the good old shed and Ruby disappear from the channel, but all good things have a end. :)
Exactly, onwards to more adventures!
Great to see Ruby going to a good home.

Thanks ! My Mrs and me met you at Ian’s Hubnut social at the Motorist a few months back .
noooooooooo! Sad day for the Volvo community watching Ruby leave for good. I hope you keep adding projects to the new garage! Regards, Nacho.
There will definitely be alot more 😃
Great vid mate nice to know the full story, and rip rick!
Thanks mate!
Nice video, I really like your content. Keep going !
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Wow mate such a shame to see ruby go but these things happen. I guess mate all the best for future projects.
Thanks mate, onwards and upwards!
@@Involvod for sure buddy I am excited to see what’s next
The old place did not even have electricity, plus there had been a fire there, I hope the new place has electricity since you need it
No it doesn't, that would be too easy 😃
These Volvos are just awesome! would love to feature some classic volvos on my channel! if only I had more space to store one!
That's always the issue isn't it 😄 And these do need alot of space
You are really saving lots of Volvos - well done. The diesel sounds interesting in more ways that one :-) Keep up the great work.
Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting more footage on it!
A new chapter for you buddy exciting times BUT there will because mattress in the future won't there 😀
