2022 Honda HR-V e:HEV Review - Pretty And Very Efficient Hybrid Coupe Crossover

- The two biggest takeaways from my drive in the new HR-V from Honda is that you can achieve and even exceed the claimed efficiency numbers and on top of that, the vehicle is great to look at, has a remarkably spacious cabin and decent levels of tech. It should be quite a bit more popular than the old HR-V, even if this new one is hybrid only and costs from 32,000 euros with some options on it (you could get the older one for less without electrification).

I’ve had mine since January, It’s a fabulous car.
Great choice of hybrid crossover!
Thanks for watching!
what mpg?
A good review and a good car.
Planning to buy it at the beginning of the next year. Hopefully the prices won't go up anymore.
Thanks for watching!
It's a great choice, lovely crossover and very efficient too.
Hello, thanks for the great upload. I am considering to buy one. However on other forums people have complained about Road noise on motorways. How was your experience with it when you drove it at 120-130 km/h.
Hey, thanks for watching!
It is definitely noisier than other similar-size crossovers. I would say more wind noise and road noise made their way into the cabin than I would have liked. I took it a bit over the speed you mentioned and it got worse. This isn’t the best vehicle in its class for going on the highway.
Have had one for almost 4 months and consumption is stable 4,6 - 4,7 L/100 km. Motorway above 5 L/100 km. City often below 4 L/100 km.
Yep, I was really impressed with its efficiency. The e:HEV powertrain is really good.
Could you please review Qashqai E-Power?
I’ll try, thanks for the suggestion
Do you know what type is the fuel system of 1.5l petrol engine - direct or port injection? If it is direct injected then that is the biggest issue compared to noise and vibrations .
I’ll check it out and get back to you. i do know it’s an Atkinson cycle engine, but not much more aside from that.
Superbe voiture depuis un mois mon deuxième salon
Oui, c'est vraiment spacieuse :)
I have one with 4500km, it's not perfect and there aren't any perfect cars, what I know is that I'm completely surrendered to the HR V... and much worse, completely addicted to driving, on mixed course I'm with 4.6 liters / 100km and with air conditioning always on, today I was in Lisbon, 38° is a wonderful car I had a 110cv Renault DCI Diesel engine ... and it never dropped below 6.4 litres/100km greetings 🇵🇹
That's an amazing real world consumption figure.
Your older diesel would probably have used less fuel when being driven outside of town, if it was the 1.5-liter Renault unit, although overall yes, this hybrid uses less fuel if you looked at mixed driving conditions.
Thanks for sharing and for watching!
@@OneTireFire Yes but my Diesel 1.5 is a heavy and tall Dacia Duster without a good drag coefficient like the Honda HR V ... then the comparison and the driving style and routes are the same I have everything documented with photos, myself I was in disbelief.... 😉👍 famtastic
I had this car as a test vehicle overnight and fell in love with it. People trashing this car has not driven it and not qualified to comment on it. It's surprisingly brisk due to the high torque from the electric motor. It certainly does its best work in town where it's almost always silent under normal driving. It certainly looks the part and feels premium in its class. My folks have one one order now. Engine noise is not an issue as it's only noisy in engine drive, but you would never do that for a long time anyway. I found the suspension to be excellent around town, absorbing all bumps and pot holes rather well providing an extremely comfortable ride around town. Compared to Toyota Yaris Cross which I have also test driven, the biggest positive is that there is no awkward vibration when the engine kicks in in hybrid drive mode. This is because the engine is not directly driving the wheels and only powering the electric generator motor whereas Toyota's system does
what was your city consumption?
4.6 l/100km
Honda´s hybrid system is a serial system - Toyota´s is a parallel system. Good review, though.
Yes, you're totally right! Good catch.
Thanks for watching!
Yeah it’s a Honda City Crossover…..
Ok 👍
