First off, killer board! Love this idea, and the fact that you took a second to explain how you got it to happen. Great stuff! The overdrive and delay combo sounds immediately super useful. I agree with the others asking for a pedalboard tour. Subscribed!
Thanks! Yeah, it was really fun to make this one, now I need to incorporate those sounds! I’ll get in a Pedalboard run through! What do you want to know, specifically?
Rick Russie well, in general I just love pedalboard videos because I'm a helpless gear junkie. Ha Ha! Mainly, I see that Tech 21 Liverpool-- my board is built around the Leeds, and I'm always game for sansamp videos. Do you use it primarily as a drive pedal, or actually in place of an amp?
I enjoy the creativity! Would you mind doing a tour of your pedal board? What you have, how it's wired, & why? That would be a super cool video, and informative. :)
Good idea! Yeah, I'll see what I can do here. In the mean time, have you seen the one I did with my friend Troy? ua-cam.com/video/vIMcXnoicPA/v-deo.html
Very cool.. I love the delay and filter sweep. I just bought my first pedal, a Boss Dimension C DC-2w. I use it with my Nord Drum and triggers.. and I like it.. adds a spacey compression thickening effect. Thanks for posting this. Peace 🇨🇦
Dude this is some awesome and inspiring stuff. Thanks for doing this. Any chance you could do a demo of just the Strymon Big Sky on the drums as a drum reverb? I have been thinking about getting one of those pedals for a long time to use as a studio reverb.
so fucking awesome, I wanna try this out with a electronic drum set that could make some awesome live. Thx sharing this video man, really inspiring through a amazing drummer
Super awesome video! Do you also have a breakdown video where you explai how the individual pedals affect the sound of your drum kit? If not, do you plan on making a breakdown video?
This was awesome! I checked out a couple of your other videos, especially the one on Reverb pedal comparison. To date, in your opinion, if I wanted to just get ONE reverb pedal and start experimenting with both my acoustic and electronic drums, would you recommend the Big Sky, Blue Sky, MXR Reverb, or BOSS RV-6? No limitation on creativity for sure, but I've read drums sound best with a Plate or Hall type of reverb. As such, I'd like a pedal that isn't TOO complicated or loaded with stuff I won't use. Rock on!
wow, the truth is a very cool sound, now I do not know if I buy the octapad or put together a pedalboard effects haha. Very good videos, I subscribe. Greetings from Argetina
I want to try integrating drum pads into an acoustic kit someday with this kind of effect on the pads. If there was a way to put the carbon copy control on a pedal like a wah that would be cool to do real time (just use a secondary closed hi hat)
I personally don't think that delay and the rhythm section mix well, because the delay could be confusing when the bpm you're playing in is different than the delay oscillations. Especially with a band.
nice! but what happened on your pre-mix? it kind of lacked top end. or did you take it down a notch so when you added the fuzz/drive it would still be under control?
Your channel deserves to blow up. Love it.
Thanks so much! That’d be nice 😜
that last part was absolutely awesome

It’s my preamp, then the Big Sky acts as a cab filter. Stereo rig with no amp.
Rick Russie nice! I've heard nothing but good about the cab sims in those.
This makes me smile. Especially the carbon copy. Fun one!
Yeah? That was fun/hard.
That fuzzed drum sound SLAPS. So fucking good
Sounds flippin awesome
you added so much to what i been searching for, thank u for sharing your pedal board and beats.
First timer. LOVE it
Awesome! Thanks!!
great idea. very creative!
Thanks!
That sounded GREAT!
Thanks!!
Cool.We used to get insane electronic drum tracks. In the context of a mix it still sounded like drums no matter how much we f d with it.Fun stuff.
They way he just reached for the pedals while maintaining that drumming
This is fantastic...love it!!!
Thanks!!
3:36 Who needs a Distressor anyway? 😂
even your one-handed drumming is killer! 🤯🤘
Dude this is BRILLIANT!! BRAVO!!
super cool. i love this kind of stuff.
Thanks!!!
This is really amazing! really wanna try it out! how do you cable it up for it to work?
I enjoy the creativity! Would you mind doing a tour of your pedal board? What you have, how it's wired, & why? That would be a super cool video, and informative. :)
Yes please Rick! And with Guitar!
Good idea! Yeah, I'll see what I can do here. In the mean time, have you seen the one I did with my friend Troy? ua-cam.com/video/vIMcXnoicPA/v-deo.html
Rick Russie I did see that one and loved it! Curious to see yours though since it's changed so much in the past year!
I concur. It would be super cool to see yours. :)
✅ Done! ua-cam.com/video/f4De_vzaxzc/v-deo.html
I have a Zoom G7.1ut multieffect pedal and a Yamaha DD-65 drumpad.I will definetly try them together! Thanks for the idea!
Sweet! Let me know how it goes.
You sound awesome, I'm a fan...
Super rad!!
So crazy as great as cool
Thanks!
This is awesome! Can you walk through how you're routing from your studiolive in and out to the computer?

Interesting idea. I feel like it’s much better suited for guitar, but it might be decent.
I want to see you play longer with that stuff.
Best drum video on UA-cam
Wow, thanks!!
Please make a complete video playing with that pedalboard!!!
Very very very cool. Thought about putting out your own drum tracks?
This is rad
Nice! I’ve been looking forward to putting my pedalboard through a reamper for drum tracks. Exciting stuff! 🤗
so fucking awesome, I wanna try this out with a electronic drum set that could make some awesome live. Thx sharing this video man, really inspiring through a amazing drummer
Just found your channel man, love it. Keep it up!
Can you do a quick video showing how this is all routed?
Great work. Very fun
Wow! This sounds fucking amazing
Thanks!
damn this is so cool & experimental 🔥
That was too cool bro!!!
Thanks, Ryan!!
HELL YEAH
Inspiring!
Man, Thank you so much for this video. And yes this sounds sick!!!
Fuzz is fantastic more creative sounds than sum crap that gets on radio or out on vinyl or cd ..
Been wanting to try this forever! Might just try it soon! Sounds really cool. Just subbed btw!
Sounds great dude!
Thanks!!
Super awesome video! Do you also have a breakdown video where you explai how the individual pedals affect the sound of your drum kit? If not, do you plan on making a breakdown video?
Hahaha! Effing AWESOME!
Thanks!!
Awesome bro.
this is pro production!
Thanks!!
Hi, I like your videos and was suprised how many follower you got. what is that Name of that drumset?
Thanks! It’s a Risen Drums kit. They are local to Minneapolis and great Drums.
Nasty is the bomb!
Awesome video! I really enjoyed it. Can I ask you something? Is “panning” produced by software(computer) or one of pedals(reverb or delay)?
Hey I love unconventional stuff like this! I need to know the input/output routing. What's the layout?
This was awesome! I checked out a couple of your other videos, especially the one on Reverb pedal comparison. Try this with piezo mics into a mixer no computer
Hey, cool video, try to put a EHX Pulsar at the end of the chain!!!
Love your channel! I went digital because of price lol but not as cool as anolog! Always wanted to do that!
Thanks, Jason!
wow, the truth is a very cool sound, now I do not know if I buy the octapad or put together a pedalboard effects haha. Very good videos, I subscribe. Greetings from Argetina
Thanks, Miguel!
What kind of mixing board do you have my guy?
Usable
soooo love this, man!
Thanks! Was a blast!
Amazing!!!
Thanks!!
I just grabbed a good collection of microphones. What is your set up for recording drums.
Here you go! ua-cam.com/video/ZBz6VtD2jrA/v-deo.html
Rick Russie You rock!
😉
Badass
Hell yea bro this is pretty awesome
Thanks!!
Rick Russie definitely using some of this on the next album 🤘🏾.

Sick as fuck man!

I was wondering that until I realized that I accidentally left the cab filter turned on on the Big Sky. It might be helpful for the overdrives though.
nice man, just found your channel! Cool idea! Might try to reamp some drums through some pedals on the next band i record
Sweet! I’d love to hear what you come up with!
We should do a video together in the future!
I'm all for it!
did you connect the pedals into a direct box? or you went right into your mixer?
Right into my mixer.
Sound like industrial music or ebm or musique concrete 🙂
That 4:10 sounds so much like Massive Attack
It kinda does, yeah!
Rick Russie Would you mind if i sample it? Obviously, credits for the drums goes to you
As long as you don’t use it commercially, for sure!
Rick Russie cool, thanks! No Worries, just for fun, no commercial use :)
Sweet! I'd love to hear what you do with it!
Hell Yeah! Chris Vrenna style! Trent Reznor would hire you I bet...
Haha! I wish!
Rick Russie but seriously, great drumming and great sound design..not having a pedal board, you gave me the idea to try something similar in Ableton..
Awesome! Thanks!
A little bit of compression on the rest of the drums? Ya think? I've never heard a snare drum with all the life squeezed out of it so hard.
🔥
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Sounds very mutemath/darren king
Thanks! He’s definitely an influence!
Loved it! great work
Why not to put everything into daw, make group of tracks with drums recording and use your pedals on master of group
That’s kinda what I did. The big thing was that I wanted to be able to respond to it live.
Drums with distortion? Okay, I've seen enough today
bro do you play in a band? and are you a believer in Jesus? saw some artists on the wall that were CCM artists... and mutemath
Not in a band, but I play at my church. You fans of those bands?
@@rickrussie haha! yes, im a worship pastor as well as an artist so you could say im a fan
Sweet! Good to meet you, Kyle!
感觉这个频道要火
谢谢
Hey what mics are you using??
found it all good!
so for live it would be pretty much the same thing?
Nice! Yeah, those are all good mics for live use as well.
有启发 你这里人太少了
谢谢
I like turtles
hot take
Inspiring!
