I just did all 4 wheel bearings on my rzr s 1000 after watching this and it worked great. The only thing I did differently was putting the bearings in the freezer before I installed them. Thanks for the video.
Perfect video man! Wish there were more like it and not all the terrible camera jobs, bad editing, and skipping the important parts. You sir are a real handyman!!
Thanks Man! I am a hobby mechanic and just did the bearings on my 900XP using your method. I know people say, "why not just buy a press for $150". Well, this is a job I will be doing once every few years at most so despite it taking me a few hours I consider it well worth it. Besides, I had fun doing it.
I learned something from your video .Thank you . I have to replace a hub that broke on my 08 RZR. I think the bearing is still good but I now know how to try this without a press. Thanks for all the good info.
Another perfectly timed video. I needed a radiator relocate back when you did the last video and now I need to replace wheel bearings. You make great and informative videos. Keep em coming
A lot of people make this operation more difficult than it really is. I had a set of bearing crivers, which accomplish the same thing as you hoolowed out bearing. Thank you for providing ta way not to enrich the dealership. As often as these bearings go out, they are obviously not properly designed, so it pays to know how to change them out. Thanks again. Is there anyway you could change mine....I'll provide the beer!
Freeze them bearings and gently heat the hubs goes together smoothly with less stress on the parts.great job on your video I've done this job a hundred times but still try to learn from others experience.
Good video and informative, especially for people with no press, but it would have been better if you used a race and driver set.A lot of people don’t have the room or want to spend the money on a bearing press, but 20 or 30 bucks spent on a race and driver set would have come in real handy in this situation
put that bearing in the freezer for 2-3 hours or more determine your direction so you know what way it goes in when you remove it from freezer.. use a heat gun and heat the hub up pretty hot 220-250, drop freezing bearing in soon as you pull heat away drop bearing there and it will drop right in, heat it up right next to freezer so it comes out of freezer same motion you remove heat.. use a heat gun or blow dryer so hub is not defaced in any way at all .. drops right in . .
Thanks for this great video, needed this advice, you just saved me a lot of money, thank you, and keep the videos coming, they are greatly appreciated.
Put my bearing housing in front of a shop heater got it to maybe 120 degrees f. Just got hot enough that you don’t want to hold it in your hand. Would have put bearing in a freezer but don’t have one in the shop. But the bearing just dropped in. No hammering or pressing.
Great video. Only question I would have is why didn’t you use the impact wrench on the two bolts for the control arm. Seeing as how you have access to them
I used to beat them out too, but when I grew a brain me and two buddies wet in together and bought a 20 ton press and press tool set, cost us $70 each and now we do it the easy way, every time we change them for our annual Hatfield McCoy rail ride week, , I thank god we bought it
Ted Gaddy hey!! Thanks for watching and commenting. I do have a hydraulic press, it is much easier. I did this video to show that you can do without if you need to. Hatfield McCoy is a good time, we stay at Ashland.
hello Warren. i have a shop press also, i just wanted to show that in a pinch you dont need one . i dont know that i would want to do this out on the trail though. thanks for watching. have a good ride!!
if you look at the back of the knuckle you will see three small half circle cut outs around it. you could use a punch and a hammer to drive it out working your way around till its out. or you could cut the outer race, carefully then tap it out . thanks for watching and the question. hope you can get it out.
First, if you put the new bearing in freezer for a bit and heat the hub up about 200 in the oven real quick, that bearing will just about fall in there. Secondly, it seems like you take care of your machine and maintain it like you should. That being said, what's the reasoning for not buying a $100 press from harbor freight to push those right out? I'd be worried about breaking something else trying to save a few bucks
i do have a hydraulic press that i use for the bearings, i just wanted to show that it can be done without one. and i dont like the heating of aluminum bearing carriers method.
hello Jeff. in this video the wheels are ITP SS112 and the tires are STI outback max. i no longer use the ITP wheels because i broke one and this wheel was discontinued . I now run STI HD beadlock wheels and Maxis Carnivore tires.
john balogna I did not have bearing greasing tool at time of this video. I do now though and I always grease new ones now because like you said they don't have nearly enough in them. Thanks for watching and commenting
that is a good question. dont honestly know. probably something with the youtube algorithm not enough people finding the channel . thank you for watching and commenting.
Smart easy way, used old method like you been for years.
Saved me a lot of money 💰👍 Old school methods saves a lot of money.
just a tip, you should put new bearings in freezer over night than put in hub they should fall right in, and heat the housing first, great video pal
Amen
я так всегда делаю , супер и не чо не надо колотить

Putting the bearings in the freezer makes all the difference in the world you bearly even have to tap them in

U can rent a bearing puller completely free from an auto store.
Straight forward description of how to do this at home with not mant tools. Great video buddy. Old school for sure 👍😎💯

So their is no damage about freezing the bearings and heating up the hub with a torch?? About to do mines for the first time.
@@joseignaciorivas468 just don't overheat the hub and you'll be fine.

When hammering in the new bearing you can use a wood block and hammer if you don't have a brass mallet
Thanks for your video, getting ready to replace the bearings in my 2012 RZR 800 at the same time doing the fix on the rear differential pinion nut.

Wet Dog 40 !! My English is getting better. Like it
Great info appreciated....was wondering why you didn't grease or pack the bering with grease before it was put back together....?
when i made this video, i didn't have the greasing tool yet that you need for these bearings. thanks for watching.
Great video. Only question I would have is why didn’t you use the impact wrench on the two bolts for the control arm. Seeing as how you have access to them
thank you. i personally dont like to use impact on smaller bolts that i dont need to.

RZR GARAGE thx for the info, we stay at browning fork trailhouse , nice folks
Nice Job, Thank you. What size was that hole you put in that 2 by 6?
Thanks for show us how without bench press!!! I noticed other video they use grease tool on hub to press more grease inside, not see you do that?
hey. thanks for watching. when i made the video i did not have the greasing tool. i got one shortly after. have a video using it also .
Thank you so much. I gotta do mine this weekend. Great video!
Is it better to put anti seize or locktite on new bearing?
Hey put you bearings on the freezer for a little bit and the bearings will go in a lot easier, take them out only when you are ready to install one
Nice job bro,u inspired me
Glad I watched. Thanks for sharing. Mine will be coming up soon therefore it was a beneficial video, well planned for me. Thanks a lot.
Hello, when you were about to install the new bearing you spread some "NIC". What is NIC? Thanks, and great video
copper anti-seize thanks for watching
You are a genius. Thanks for the video. I’m doing the same thing.
Put bearings in freezer. Use a propane torch on housing and cold bearings pretty much drop right in.
Do i have to greases the bearing? Someone told me it was sealed
Good vidoe.Good idea using old bearing knock on new one
One question I have is I see all these people just slamming them in and not greasing them do you know why???
if you heat the aluminum housing the bearing will come out easier also to reinstall new one
Great video. I have a shop press but this would be very helpful when away from home riding the trails.
hello Warren. i have a shop press also, i just wanted to show that in a pinch you dont need one . i dont know that i would want to do this out on the trail though. thanks for watching. have a good ride!!
Great video my guy. Here’s a subscribe
How do you remove the bearing if the whole inside is knocked out and all that’s left is just the outside of the bearing
if you look at the back of the knuckle you will see three small half circle cut outs around it. you could use a punch and a hammer to drive it out working your way around till its out. or you could cut the outer race, carefully then tap it out . thanks for watching and the question. hope you can get it out.
@@RZRGARAGE ok thanks
And great vid by the way

That bearing is now a brinelled bearing.
When installing new bearings I use a 2x4 to take the damage.
Good stuff sir appreciate it have to do this on my 900 ranger xps
Thanks a lot my Good Man.
Very nice I understood everything!
Thanks for the idea cept I use flame 🔥 on the aluminum & stick the bear'in in the freezer..... speed safe
ступицу слегка нагреваеш а подшибник ложиш в морозильную камеру и он спокойно ложится в ступицу и не надо колотить
Preciate ya sharing cuz
What tires and wheels are on your 900s
hello Jeff. in this video the wheels are ITP SS112 and the tires are STI outback max. i no longer use the ITP wheels because i broke one and this wheel was discontinued . I now run STI HD beadlock wheels and Maxis Carnivore tires.
Good shit thanks buddy
just be careful not to over heat it on the install
awesome!!!
good info, thanks bud.
Great video
Going to try a little heat to get the next bearing out
If you freeze bearing goes in easier also
THE NEW BEARING ARE NOTORIOUS FOR BEING UNDER GREASED FROM THE FACTORY DIDN'T GREASE IS BEFOR REASSEMBL???
john balogna I did not have bearing greasing tool at time of this video. I do now though and I always grease new ones now because like you said they don't have nearly enough in them. Thanks for watching and commenting
Good video, but that thumb nail is really freaking me out man.
perfectly job....
Old school way is fine. But if your changing wheel bearings like that, invest in a press.cut your down time in half atleast
old bearing trick17:05 save me thank you!!!!
How do you only have 264 subscribers?
that is a good question. dont honestly know. probably something with the youtube algorithm not enough people finding the channel . thank you for watching and commenting.
We know it was her fault! She was embarrassed, but laughed.
That old bearing was dried out.. Grease them every 800 miles or so and they'll last a long time.
Hey bud it's easier to loosen the axle nut before you jack the machine up.
He has an impact moron. Why would he need to loosen it first...
Tristan Lang lol
I'd drink a beer or few with you bud
Good idea with the wood. I always use the old one to hammer the new one in if that makes sense.
OleNasty79 thanks. I used the old one too to put the new one in.
