Brandon and Brenda are always my favorite TV siblings! Jason and Shannen had brilliant chemistry together! I doubt that nowadays, the casting people could find two young actors, this perfectly looking, and who were perfectly in sync with each other. They were unique and it sucks that their time on the show as siblings was cut short due to problems behind the scenes.
My Favorite Scene of the twins.. that magical bond, not just the characters but the Jason and Shannon as well.. "No matter how crazed or bent out of shape I ever got, you were always there for me and I'll never forget it. You really are my best friend" "Well, I hope I always will be".
30 years ago, i stopped watching this show when Shannen was kicked out and we had to deal with Kelly and Valerie (the mean cousin, oh my god, how original). Planning to do the same now. When I see Valerie, well my subscription will be over

I am defending absolutely nothing. I am just stating that the show was great with Shannon and it sucked with Valerie. The whole story was about the twins. The daughter leaves to never be seen again. Not even a postcard! The show lost a lot losing Brenda. My opinion, dude

He lied for her to their parents whenever she secretly sneaked out with Dylan, during her trip to Palm Springs or Mexico, or to the Beach Club during the summer! Brandon lied for her every single time, even tho it was really serious, and he actually shouldn't have to cover for her. This is why I will never agree with some fans who are angry that Brandon supposedly didn't support Brenda after her breakup with Dylan. First of all, relationship problems are always private and intimate between two people, and even a brother is an outsider when it comes to matters like this. What's more, even tho Dylan cheated, Benda cheated as well, and it was Brenda who ultimately broke up with Dylan, it was her choice. So it was really a mess between Dylan and Brenda, and Brandon had nothing to do here. Also, Dylan was Brandon's best friend, Brandon met Dylan and befriended him first before Brenda did, so it's normal he was conflicted in all of this. He supported Brenda, but at the same time, he couldn't just cut Dylan out of his life, as they were very close friends, and ultimately, both Brenda and Dylan went separate ways and cheated on each other, so what Brandon could have done, really? That's life, and the truth is that the high school, young love rarely survives the whole lifetime, it's first love, not forever love, and only in the TV shows for teenagers that kind of love is unrealistically portrayed as a 'forever' type of love. It's nonsense. Brandon knew Brenda is a smart, beautiful, independent girl, and she would manage without Dylan. Unlike Kelly, Brenda was never defined by a man, her boyfriend, Dylan. She was always her own person, and even tho Dylan was her great love, it was never the sole thing that she needed to survive. This is why the ending of Brenda's arc was really spot on: Brenda moved on from all of this and made an unexpected decision to go live somewhere else in the world after the superficial, crazy Beverly Hills life disappointed her. Brandon was always more easy-going, less demanding, and less confrontational than Brenda, this is why he fit in Beverly Hills easier and stayed. It makes sense when we look at their personalities, so it was good writing, actually. I love Brandon & Brenda, one of the best examples of TV siblings. The only thing I regretted about Brenda moving on/Shannen leaving was not being able to watch more of Brandon and Brenda's interactions, and their lives together when they got older because the bond between the two was the essence of this show, it all started from them, this was what the show was all about! So after Brenda left, I didn't watch anymore. Without the twins' dynamic Beverly Hills 90210 became just one more soap opera for young adults where everyone slept with everyone. The Walshes adjusting to Beverly Hills life + the twins' dynamic was a unique spin that gave this show an edge, so after it was lost, and became just about beautiful young people having sex and ridiculous mob-crime twists with Dylan, it was just not worth it. For me, they should reboot this show, and I mean, really reboot with all the new cast, and tell this story once more, but this time without separating the twins so early. The story about a conservative family with teenage twins moving from the Midwest to LA, California, and trying to fit in. In the modern era, obviously. And looking at how divided the US is nowadays, this could be an amazing, and actually very needed show in our times, portraying we are not that different from each other, no matter if we are conservative or liberal, only if written with a sensibility and no biases on either side.

However, I do differ in certain ways about the Brandon, Dylan, Brenda, Kelly, summer of deception opinion. And also about Brandon "always" being there for Brenda. I wouldn't necessarily agree. I know that Brandon met Dylan first, but the time difference between him meeting Dylan and then Dylan meeting Brenda is not THAT significantly far apart to somehow make Brandon be conflicted about who to support. I am just looking at it from a sibling point of view. If I were Brenda's twin brother, and her boyfriend, (and not just any boyfriend, but someone who is basically part of your family), cheated on your sister with your sister's best friend and tried to hide it. I, as Dylan's best friend, would no longer have any desire to be friends with either Dylan or Kelly. Regardless of the "fickle high school teen love" and "it doesn't last" and "etc, etc, etc". Dylan and Brenda had such a strong, sincere, organic, natural connection. To even mention that Brenda cheated on Dylan with Reeek, and I'm sorry, but with all due respect, is a joke to even compare that with what Dylan did to Brenda by cheating on her with Kelly. Reeek was nobody to Dylan. Reek wasn't Dylan's best friend or anything remotely like that. What Brenda had with Reeek was just a short fling in every sense of the word. In addition to putting the knife in Brenda's back and then slowly turning it. In that scene in the park, I hated how Dylan and Kelly tried to make Brenda feel guilty for being angry at them, gas-lighting her. And I will always fault Brandon for not standing by Brenda in those moments, rather just telling her that "you're always going through a lot of stuff". Plus, he was doubtful about defending Brenda when the rumors were spreading about her sleeping with Roy Randollf. He didn't immediately have her back. Yes, I agree Brandon was not the worst brother, but he is FARRRRR from a saint, very, very FARRR. He could have been a much better brother.

I remember when Brenda broke up with Dylan and he cried saying he wasn't a loner anymore. 🤔 That being said I really enjoyed Kelly and Jackie's relationship development and Kelly's development as a sister (to Erin and David).
...this would've been the perfect moment to pivot the Show's premise of School, and send the characters into more 'Adult' territory.....They would've been in College, but lessen the 'grades, Teachers, & Class' talk, and more topical situations....INCLUDING Brenda...... (2:27)...

I’d take a whole season of Lavoine Does Paris over a single line of that noise.
