Challenger is an American brand of agricultural tractors. Challenger tractors have been manufactured at the company's Jackson, Minnesota facility.
The Jackson plant has reduced production costs, increased productivity, improved product quality, and shortened production time when compared to its competitors. As well as making Challenger tractors at the facility, the company also manufactures combined harvesters, hay and forage equipment, and seeding and tillage implements.

Building SS - Assembly, test and paint of Caterpillar’s medium and large track-type tractors.
Building LL -Tractor and undercarriage components are fabricated, heat treated, machined and painted in Building LL.
The Mapleton Plant is a modern, electric melting, gray iron foundry that produces high-quality castings. The primary castings produced are cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, and cylinder liners.

Cat hasn’t made any tractors since 2002 when they sold their agricultural business to AGCO
This is at the AGCO facility in Jackson, MN. They are Challenger brand now not CAT. Also not CAT powered

They are also out of the truck engine business since 2010
@@farmertoblerone2280 AGCO was supplied with CAT engines and drivetrains thru the 2010 or 11 models, after that they became an all AGCO product. Basically the same year CAT dropped their truck engine line, as a result of emission requirements, they dropped providing parts to AGCO...
We still make tractors today. I work as a production tech here in TX

I love every brand of American Equipment, tools. ETC. like Caterpillar, John Deere, Matco, Snap On, Milwuakee,Rust Oleum, Stanley, Proto, Crafstman, Husky, Dewalt, and more, uff is incredible the quality and variety the have, God Bless America.
Stanley B&D products suck these days. Also the Germans know how to design and build tools better than we do in the states. There's nothing wrong with that, I think it should be a good challenge for U.S. companies to innovate more; however they don't seem to care since there seems to always be a large number of numpties who've never tried anything but Milwaukee, Klein, or Channellock.
Craftsman is made in China currently....

The engine is SISU Diesel
If this plant is in Jackson, Minnesota, I toured this plant with other tractor riders in 2007 before our 60 mile ride with older tractors ! They were making Challenger track tractors that saturday in July.
You keep switching what is being made. You show a SISU engine, not a CAT engine. The 865E's don't have any CAT parts anymore, if they do, it would only be the transmission. AGCO owns and makes Challengers.

Very nice piece of Machine. I pulled about 42ton tanked polar diesel on a ice sledges traversing ice in Antarctica during 2020/21 and 2021/2022 South Africa's Antarctic Relief Voyages
AGCO bought the Challenger brand in late 2001, built them with CAT parts through 2010 ish,,,, Since then they are a full AGCO product, now with MAN engines and FENDT transmissions... Anyway, CAT sold their Agriculture division 20 years ago!!!

Not for their workers it wasn’t, having to do the same repetitive work over and over again, at a speed set by the management. They were little better than human robots.
Challenger is no more! It's all Fendt now.

yes, AGCO have killed off the Challenger brand and are pushing Fendt worldwide, even though many farmers in North America have no idea what a Fendt is. It's likely due to their CEO who doesn't seem to understand the first thing about brand recognition and fail to comprehend that Fendt is completely unknown outside Europe. It would make far more sense for them to stick with Massey or better yet Allison in North America, since those two brands have worldwide recognition and Fendt doesn't, but then they're in a completely pointless pissing contest with Claas about who can push the most green tractors onto the fields

Whoa. This was the heart and soul of Cat highest quality hydraulics. I could not believe it when it moved to Mexico. Strike sealed the fate. Buildings had been sold years earlier.
The next year, Deere moved their hydraulics to Mexico also and laid off 250 employees.
