i like the plasma cutter, that's my little one good for sheet metal. i have a bigger one for up to 1/2" thick but it's a little over kill for this door. :)
i'm sure their is also. but i didn't want to have to reset the doors so it's easier to weld up a hole than to fight with a door by myself trying to get it aligned.

Maybe there's another way to do this. I'm thinking I probably would have did it like you did.
