Abaddon's black crusades werent failures? You can argue that retcons changed them but those retcons are literally 19 years old now if 2005 was the relaease date of the Liber chaotica. I just dont get the hate abaddon gets and Im reading the 2nd edition codex rn and nothing stands out as a failure other than they were pushed backed but left irreprable damage on the galaxy? The only thing that I understand is the armless part.

The Abaddon bit is more a comment on how he currently is viewed by the 40k community and how GW really wants people to see him as a big threat but not really working with how much get's meme'd on. When I get to him in this series will be going off how he was back then when it was just 12th crusades and we didn't know much about them at time as wouldn't be till 3rd it got more fleshed out so actually had a a bit of intrigue as to what he had done and how much damage those crusades accomplished.
