في كثير من الأحيان، عندما ينظر الناس في الممارسات الحالية للإسلام في جميع أنحاء العالم، وهناك اضطهاد والظلم العميق ضد المرأة. كما تعقد معظم الصلوات باللغة العربية بدلا من اللغة العربية واللغة من الناس في تلك الأرض (في حالتنا، الإنجليزية). لهذا أقول أن الإسلام هو دين الوحدة واحترام العالم (انظر سورة 49 الآية 13، سورة 2 الآية 213)، والإنذار ضد التخفيت الشكلية (سورة 2، الآية 177)، مشيرا إلى أن يعظ الناس في لغتهم الأصلية (سورة 14، الآية 4)، ودفع من أجل العدالة العامة وحقوق المرأة والأيتام (الاطلاع على كل من السورة 4).
Too often, when people look at the current practices of Islam across the globe, there is deep oppression and injustice against women. Most prayers are held in Arabic and in the language of the people in that land (in our case, English). Islam is a religion of global unity and respect (see Sura 49 verse 13, Sura 2 verse 213), warning against deadening formalism (Sura 2, verse 177), stating to preach to people in their native language (Sura 14, verse 4), pushing for public justice and the rights of women and orphans (See ALL of sura 4).

Allah had his reasons for not revealing the content of the Sunnah in the Quran. We shouldn't rely too much on the Sunnah and the consensus of the Ummah. The sunni school is too extreme for my taste. I won't let any man take away the sacred freedom given to me by Allah.
Islam is all about gaining freedom for the law of men to submit to the law of god. A spiritual liberation.
What is the point then of recreating new types of mandatory manmade rules based on the consensus of men ?
It is like you are telling Allah he should have forbidden woman from leading the prayer in the Quran. He decided not to. Then this question should always remain open to discussion. If some muslims find it right, then let them pray this way

1. In Islam a woman cannot be Imam for men. But she can for women.
2. In prayer you read qoran only in Arabic, you shouldn't translate.
3. In prayer women should cover their whole body except their faces and hands.
4. Men should pray in the front lines after Imam and women behind them. No mixing.

No one of these rules are cited in the Qoran or Sunna fiqh or the Charia. Aicha, the Prophet's wife, was directed and allowed by the Prophet her husband to direct a prayer as an imam for a group of men and women. She was the first female imam. So women are allowed to direct prayers not only for women, but for men too.

Hence Quran is understood according to Tafseer provided by the prophet saws and the way He practised it, passed down by the Sahaba to the ummah through Books of hadith and TAWATUR.
Tawatur - common practice by the majority of ummah. And the proof of authenticity of Quran IS tawatur.

I put a comment on this video 7 years ago, praising it for how modern and civilized it was. I have deleted that comment today and realize there is nothing wrong with our religion that needs changing and everything is there for a reason. I can understand some of the motives people have for wanting to 'modernize' certain things in the religion to accord with Liberal values, but mixed prayer and a female imam is an unnecessary innovation and serves no purpose and adds no value.

But the group I belong to, called the Quranist, believe that those same people have reported the world of Allah to the letter and couldn't do the same for the hadith or the sunnah. Multiple followers came together and tried to agree on a common tradition depicting the life, the practice and the sayings of the Prophet.. It wasn't just a mere task of compiling sourate and verses but a collective work of hundreds of people who knew the prophet closely.
In the End, what we know about how the Prophet praticed Islam should be taken with caution. He may have or he might not have done things the way the Hadith describe them.
Even if the tradition is 100% true, I still wouldn't follow the way the Prophet praticed Islam to the letter for an obvious reason : if Allah didn't write explicitly how to pratice things certain ways, it means that in the end you are responsible of how you pratice. Find your own way to come closer to Allah and live and exist in this wolrd.

I don't know whats worse, a sister leading a congregation of men who couldn't lead prayers or translating the prayer while in salah.
