QUESTION: What is the purpose of the insurance company when it, through its attorneys, asks the judge for a summary judgment? Are they trying to "make" the plaintiff's attorneys to accept a settlement? Are they trying to have the civil case thrown out even when they admit their is liability? Thank you sir
Insurance companies hate juries. They file for summary judgment to take a case away from a jury.
