Thanks for this video. You are a star!!! I fixed mine as possibly mentioned below, using cable ties like this: leave the metal pin in place. Wrap a medium cable tie 'stay' horizontally around BOTH of the narrow parts of both the (now separated) linkages very slightly loose. Then link the two together using 2 thin/ small (vertical) ones but make sure to put the heads of the 2 thin ones is at the bottom or you will foul the shoulder of the lifter. Then tighten the first two (horizontal stays) tight and trim them. Don't use too thick of a 'stay' one at the top, because the slider is quite tight against the stick and it will cause sticktion in the 'lift' button. Finally gradually tighten the small vertical ones little by little and work the lifter until it lifts the (bottom) guard over the 'shoulder' correctly. MAKE SURE the thin ones are adjusted the same as each other, so that they share the load and won't break. Check that the system can't achieve reverse without the lifter working and only works when the lifter IS engaged. Re-do it if it's not perfect!
Just fixed mine today with the help of this video. Took a while to pop the old one out of the console but once that was done the rest was easy pie. So yes, great video! 🙌🏻
@JoeLloyd thanks for the cable tie tip I tried to take a video but forgot to press record however the repair is quick and straightforward and even better saved £30 ish just make sure you use ties that are not too big👍
hello I would like to know where you bought this broken plastic hinge part, because I have the same problem if you have a site where we can buy the complete set thank you very much that would be nice of you
Can you tell me the Vauxhall part number of the replacement Gear Shift as I'm struggling to find the correct part in most catalogues? I have a Corsa SE 1.4 Ecoflex 2016 Plate. Many thanks this was really helpful.
@@amiestone3116 I used 3 cable ties, one went in the slot the existing plastic part used to go into, one around the silver bar that the plastic bit snapped off and then one to tie the two together. Bit confusing to describe but I have some pictures if you're still stuck
@@89lohse I didn't film it at the time sadly. I've got a picture of it posted on the FB page "Adam Owners Club". If you go on there and search my name you should be able to find the post. Hope this helps!
