lol suave has always meant smooth it isnt slang. thank you for pausing when u comment, this is one of my fave movies. and theo never having a good pair of shoes is symbolic of him filling in a role (as escort and bodyguard) that he isnt prepared for.
I have recently re watched this film and been a new father with a 10 month old beautiful son the movie is so utterly heartbreaking. The scene of the baby at the end was so hard hitting as well. Such a fantastic film and so well done on the production was amazing.
An excellent review! This is one of my favourite films of all time. I saw it the first time when it came out at Christmas 2005, and so much of the movie hit uniquely hard at the time. For example: When the bus arrives at the Bexhill refugee camp, you can see a person with a hood over their head in a cage, electrodes attached to their fingers. That was a direct reference to what happened at Abu Ghraib in 2003. Through the lens of then-current events, the War on Terror aspect alone made it a viscerally disturbing but incredible commentary. Also, in terms of how the Fishes found Theo, watch the very first scene again where he's on the train, just before the people outside start hurling projectiles at the windows. You can see the guy who would later say, "Oh, right! Then the government will say, 'Oh, we were wrong, fugees are humans, too,'" seated directly behind Theo, reading. They'd been tailing him for a while. And one more: you're absolutely right at 22:33 -- he was euthanizing his wife and dog. Jasper knew what was coming. That hit me super hard, too. It's like Jasper represented the innocence of a bygone age that was being literally assassinated on screen. Again with that early 2000s outlook.
Hey, just discovered the channel, but anyone that reacts to this movie is alright in my book. This movie is a masterpiece. A totally underappreciated masterpiece. Jasper (Michael Caine) and the lady are Theo's mom and dad. On a re-watch there is a headline about a British agent's identity being leaked by her own government with a picture of Theo's mom. She was presumably captured, interrogated, and tortured (or worse), before being released. This is why she is so quiet and not because of sickness. The ambush of the "Fugees" attacking the car was a set up to remove Julian (and Theo) and to control Kee. But I can imagine if there was a large group of people that couldn't get jobs or money or medicine or food that kind of thing would happen all the time. They didn't want to shoot Theo on the small chance that Kee might get hit and the baby would be lost. They didn't find Kee and Theo through the power of plot design. They correctly guessed that they would be trying to find the Human Project and the best way to get there, is through that city. They also didn't find Jasper by accident. Julianne probably mentioned the place to some of them. At the end, the sound of the child, is the sound of children, lots of them. Personally I love movies with ambiguous endings. It means I get to write the ending. Based on the number of children, I think Kee and her baby will have more children and humanity (or some semblance of it somewhere) will be restored.

One of the best things in this movie is long one-shot scenes without breaks. The car ride where the lady gets shot is 4 minutes long and it is one camera moving around the inside and outside of the car which never breaks focus. The battle in the city near the end is similarly long without the camera ever changing views. And, the opening scene with the terrorist bombing at the coffee shop is a long take.
The final act, is a 6 in a half minute line SINGLE take. It took three tries and took five hours to set each time up. The movie uses Sound and long camera takes to tell this story in such an immersive way that always feels like you are another character following alongside.
I've watched a lot of reactions channels and I have to say I love how genuine yours is. You let yourself really get into the movie and share that experience instead of trying to slide in bits of a comedy routine or show off the knowledge of a wanna-be filmmaker, making your content stand out. Will subscribe and share!
Ayo bro the casino reaction brought me here and I scrolled down yo channel and saw SMACKDOWN and Raw reviews. As a wrestling fan I’d like to say live ppv reactions and raw reviews would be great content if u still watch
thanks for the support. I don't watch as much as I once did. because of time limited but, I do the love Roman!! and the blood line is not so bad, and Jade Cargal is going to be nice. I rock with a little AEW when there's time as well. ok thanks.
@@randomlyreactandreviewfirstEzy man Roman is my guy. Was rocking with even even back when he got boos. And Seth is doing great work right now. Love the channel bro keep it going💯
thank you. I didn't like Roman when he was getting that outrageous push, he's way better as a Heel! " The Head of the Table" was such a cool idea. Seth Freak'n Rollins is good too. ok later.@@acgthamc
I wasn't too fond of the ending, the chemistry between the two this is was one of the rare times I wanted a nice "Hollywood" ending where they raised the kid together, but given how bleak the ENTIRE film was I should have known better lol.
To me this movie is the definition of a masterpiece. Everything about it is amazing
it was very well done.
This one is legitimately in my all time top five.
it is a great film!!
the ceasefire scene always makes me cry
yeah, that scene is really good!
The only movie that made me cry was The Elephant Man in 1980
that baby scene has to be the most beautiful scene in any movie
🤠
it was one of a kind!
It was Theo's story. Theo dies = the movie ends :)

This has aged well.
A bit depressing but man what a great film.
there was hope at the end that was satisfying. very good movie.
