Interesting/informative/entertaining. Nice picture of the troops/equipment heading towards the next military engagement. Special thanks to the oftentimes forgotten medics risking life and limb. Tending to wounded soldiers to be sent to the nearest hospital for more professional care of doctors & nurses.
The author's constant battle for hope despite all the despair is what I find fascinating. It is easy to see how that is what kept him going despite all the hardships.
Nope early spring 1943. If you can remember in the previous episode Stalingrad had just fallen, and now the winter is slowly melting into a wet spring.
I guess so. Hitler plus the Wehrmacht sealed their fate with the Russian invasion. The German view that the Russians were sub humans didn't help matters.
Some were allowed back in France but had to serve in the French Armed Fores for French Foreign Legion after WW2. Many died in Indo-China. There is a book called THE DEVIL'S GUARD that talks about it. Many German Soldiers, not just French who served with The Germans, served in Algeria and Indo-China.
This voice over is superior to any other keep this up!!
Fascinating to get a soldier's view of the war.
I’m particularly fascinated by the German perspective. 👍
So much better then the standard text books that only talk about the battles and only outline them.
It is, yet EVERY war is the same.

No it’s from a book, look through the comments of the second video some lists the title and author there.

I think it was 44.

The curtain is coming down signaling The End.
The “ RED “ curtain???😈

A cautionary tale. Here, Feb 2024, I have a worrying feeling that incompetent US leaders will get our guys into a situation like this 😮
Wonder what happened to the French fighting for Germany?

...and Germany never invaded Russia again.
😂😂, EU and NATO poked the Bear.
After the failed Blitzkrieg invasion of Moscow. A 2nd opportunity never presented itself.
