I was part of the dig team in 2015, Season 10, all the way from New Zealand. The biblical geography is convincing. Sodom can't be in the south Dead Sea area. It can be in the Jordan Valley north of the Dead Sea. Breaking into the destruction layer is sobering. When you see, smell and handle the destruction layer, the airburst suggestion fits what you experience. Good to hear you again Dr Collins.
Allah asked aADD's Prophet to get "aADD" nation TO refrain being homo but he failed to get them to STOP .. SO Allah told their Prophet that he was going to Destroy them in 3 days with A STRONG & POWERFUL WIND exactly what he DID & the RESULT IS This STORY you are talking about.
Do you find it even a little curious that the geographical description in the Bible doesn’t just say “walk a half day directly east from Jericho & you’ll be in sodom”? Why bother with the round-about, possibly misinterpreted version? I mean, it’s 12 miles away from one of the oldest continuously occupied cities in the world, and an extremely important biblical city & all we have is vague Dead Sea descriptions? Just seems a little off to me if this is the location.
I got to see some photos of this dig and other land mark of the bible as it is our pastor and his wife who went over it was a great insight of there trip of a lifetime
I think it's an interesting coincidence that we're discovering Sodom at this point in history. What an excellent reminder of God's intolerance of evil. As a pastor once said, "If God doesn't judge America, he's going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah."
@@FloridaIndependent and most cities are following the path of san Francisco, If you read the Harbinger by Jonathan Cahn, you'll understand that God has been warning us to repent, starting with 9/11, then 19 yrs later covid, everything is directly parallel to the jewish people when they defied God...
@@margiecarol2944 But San Francisco isn't America. No one (but you) would say Cary is America even though it's just as much of a city as San Francisco. So are we now the United States of San Francisco?
It's really incredible when you realize how important the little details mentioned in scripture are to validating the scripture itself. It's hard to believe that these details could possibly be there by coincidence. It makes the truth of the scriptures self evident.
Especially when it comes to why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. Even those who came after Sodom and Camorra had a very specific idea of why the city was destroyed. Context is everything. Thoughts and prayers!
Math quiz please add multipliers, etc. Known history X access to history X discoveries X beneficial tech advances ÷ war = what percent of the Old Testament will ever be confirmed?
@@citizenschmitizen All of it. From the very first verse...in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. But I'm curious, why would you divide the wars?
We've about come full circle when it comes to Sodom. We now celebrate and promote the very lifestyle that GOD destroyed an entire city for. This just confirms to me how much we are into the last days.
funny how people like yourself bring up this kind of thing when someone does this and then conveniently omit what it says in Ezekiel, but then I'd expect nothing more from someone who has most likely never even studied let alone understand what the Hebrew language says and base everything on what they've been indoctrinated to believe.
It's ironic that the very same academics who consider a discovery that corroborates the Bible as an "agenda", while their own bias in wanting to deny a legitimate discovery is "scholarship."
Thank you Sean for your interview, it was very well done. I tried watching another interview with Dr. Collins to hear what he had to say and the interviewer talked so much that he left little time for Dr. Collin to make his point. He kept interrupting him and trying to impress everyone with what he actually didn't really know. Your questions were very well thought out, concise and allowed him to give adequate time to answer. In the first 8 minutes I learned more than I did in the whole 30 minute video from another. Very interesting topic.
I have long said the archeologists were wrong, that the scriptural texts only provided for Sodom to be at the north end of the Dead Sea. Glad to see archaeology coming around!
Modern archiology was invented , & pioneered by christians to prove the bible correct , and as time went on the atheists took over to try and prove the theory of evolution , and pushed religious ppl to the edges of the community.
This is amazing! Suggestion for the future, when scientific papers are referenced in the video, why not include a link in the description? Now we need Joel Kramer back on to have a back and forth discussion with Steven Collins 👍. I really appreciate both of them but obviously they disagree on this location.
Yeah, i watched Joel’s video on Sodom and Gomorrah, its ironic that he found many instances of sulfur balls that are characteristic of a catastrophe but doesn’t go too much into detail on the buried city, nor does he find many skeletons.
By them discovery this site. It shows how amazing God's Mercy is❤🔥because he is warning this wicked generation, by showing that his wrath🔥against sin is real, and it's coming. Great interview. Grateful for the work of Dr. Steven Collins and his colleagues. This is an amazing find that will make the biblical stories come to life in a way that they just wouldn't otherwise.

This was so fun. At the age of 35 I been so in biblical geography and history this past year or 2 that I wish I knew what I wanted to go to college for right after High school. Not only the history proves the Bible to be true but the science as well.
Very interesting interview and great work from Dr. Collins... Reminds me of [2Pe 2:6 KJV] 6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned [them] with an overthrow, making [them] an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; Sodom and Gomorha are an example of how God "feels" about and deals with certain people. Quite a relevant example for 2023 America.
Proverbs 18:17 In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right, until someone comes forward and cross-examines. Dr Collins puts his case well--- but his is not the only case. There is good Biblical/ Historical evidence for the Southern sites and many faithful people (including Joel Kamer, a past guest) would disagree with Dr Collins. Either way it is good to know there are sites that agree with the Biblical text-and that makes me happy. I just hope we can discuss this in both truth and love, like children of the Living God should
As I listened to this video yesterday, I began to wonder whether the story of Lot might provide evidence for the location of Sodom that I don’t think was mentioned in the discussion. Suppose that the story of Lot and his daughters in fact has some degree of historical legitimacy. Recall that Genesis 19 records that the older daughter was the maternal progenitor of Moab while the younger daughter was the mother of the people of Ammon. If you look at the locations of the Ammonites and the Moabites on biblical maps, in my mind the distribution of those peoples, flanking the northeastern portion of the Dead Sea would favor the northern location proposal for Sodom because of familial loyalties, wouldn’t it? I’m no biblical scholar, but to me this adds to evidence favoring a northern location for Lot’s adopted home that the location at the southern extremity of the lake. I would appreciate the opinion of the experts.
Genesis chapter 13, where the bible gives us the geographical indicators of the whereabouts of Sodom and her five fortified city state. And he [Abraham] went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, *between Bethel and Hai* {Genesis 13:3} ... And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all *the plain of Jordan* that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and *Lot journeyed east* and they separated themselves the one from the other. {Genesis 13:10-11} (The same location, east from Bethel and Hai, is...Modern day Tall el-Hammam, Jordan. Moses and the Israelites would setup camp on the ruins of Sodom, before crossing *the Jordan River* into The promise land.) And they removed from Almondiblathaim, and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo. And they departed from the mountains of Abarim, and pitched in *the plains of Moab* by Jordan near (on the east side of the Jordan River, across from) Jericho. And they pitched by Jordan, from Bethjesimoth [house of the desolation / upper city] even unto Abelshittim [lower city] in the plains of Moab. {Numbers 33:47-49} Tall el-Hammam is modern day Sodom. The inner city, comprising the upper and lower, which combined is approximately 64 acres (more than ten times that of Jericho) behind the massive walls, towers, and gate system, (Lot sat in the gate of Sodom) buttressed by a sloped mud brick rampart (another separating the upper and the lower city) covered with a plaster glacis. It is the right place, the right time, and has the right stuff, including a MBA destruction layer. The bible is true. God bless
I came to the same conclusion after reading my Bible and studying with the Strongs Concordance so I could understand the Hebrew. But I thought I might have just not understood the texts based on where "everyone" was placing it on Bible maps. Awesome to hear about this place! I did not know an excavation was even active and people were actually considering a north eastern Sodom! I would like to know more about why Dr. Collins doesn't think its possible to be under water in the Dead Sea though. Or at least some of the cities...thank you for this interview ❤
With all my respects to the doctor and the audience. My question to thes archaeologist is, did they find evidence of the Brimstone rain mentioned in Genesis 19:24-25 in and around such cities? Because it The KJV Bible said "Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground" The ONLY place that has such evidence, was found by the late Dr. Ron Wyatt. If the such place that you claim to be "sodom" It has no such brimstone, I think, It is not Sodom or Gomorrah.
@@samuelrivera4362 I thought this was interesting so I wanted to share: If you look up the definition of brimstone in the Strongs Concordance it is H1614 "gophryth" which is a feminine form of gopher wood. The same that Noah built the ark from. So, I'm really wondering if this was some kind of volcanic explosion or something that would cause hot, burning gopher tree wood to come down on these cities. I'm not sure if Ron Wyatts evidence lines up with the definition. It does mention gophryth as sulphur by analogy though. So, whatever came down on Sodom must have been similar to sulphur but doesn't mean it actually was. Just wanted to mention that & God Bless!
@@sunshine_schleichs Take a look at some ancient astronomical events that show an asteroid or other space body impacting the earth and tossing up debris that then comes back down in a rain of fire on those cities.
As an orthodox Jew it pains me that so many Israeli archeologists deny the historicity of the Bible. I'd have to push back at the figure of 98%, though. There are many of who do, though they are in the minority. I think that the stranglehold that ideologically secular academics have on archeology Bible studies departments plus the oversized egos of certain academics like Israel Finkelstein makes it hard for other voices to emerge.
Perhaps some of them do believe in the historicity, but they are pressured to perform in a purely secular manner. You're right, though. It is a shame that people don't have more integrity.
Thank you for writing. I appreciate your observations. Don’t you wish someone had made a movie, even a black and white one without sound, showing the ancient reality? I think it would be fun to see history happening when it happened without having to make suppositions and guesses. Well, we won’t ever know with certainty, at least not in this life.
@@drmichaelshea Well, I tell you Jesus told of the rich man who ignored Lazarus in life. He died and went to Hell. He was thirsty and wanted Abraham to dip his finger in the water and to cool his tongue because he was tormented in the flame. But, Abraham said that he could not come there. Well, the rich man asked Abraham to send Lazarus to warn his brothers not to end up there. Abraham said that if they wouldn't listen to the prophets, then they would not listen "even" "if" someone rises from the dead, meaning Lazarus. Jesus said that there would be scoffers in the last days, so, this is a hint to them. It is no real skin off our heels; if they want to be apart from God, He will oblige them.
@@margiecarol2944 Let me ask you a question. Since when have any of the poor gotten into heaven by virtue of having been given a gift? Not very many, I’ll bet. And if that’s true, why would the rich man be consigned to hell for failing to give to someone who would in all likelihood obtain no eternal benefit from it? The issue isn’t one of goods or riches or privilege, it’s a question of idolatry. If the rich man went to hell it was not because he didn’t give his riches away but because his wealth was the true focus of his love and worship. My point is that you don’t have to have money to love it more than God. The poor are just as capable of that sin as anyone. I’m all for generosity, not so much because of the benefit someone else gets from me but because given helps me to grow. If I were the richest man on earth and gave every penny away, equally to all, no one would get as much as a dollar. As it stands, if I gave away everything I have, I doubt anyone would get 1/100 of a penny. So I believe very strongly that it is best for each of us to pray for ways of honestly supporting ourselves and our families. Some will have a lot, and some little, some will need the assistance of loved ones, neighbors, and churches, and some will not. For whatever the reason, it’s the way of the earth, and the earth is God’s, and who am I to argue?
Hey Sean... I found an interesting set of verses in Ezekiel which compares the sins of Jerusalem with those of her sister cities, Samaria and Sodom. Admittedly, it does not specifically give directions. It is Ezek 16:46- 48 "Your older sister was Samaria, who lived to the north of you with her daughters; and your younger sister, who lived to the south of you with her daughters, was Sodom..." Also, I did not pick up any mention of , or argument for, the "fire-and -brimstone" sulfa balls prevalent in southern locations proposed for Sodom. Help shed some more light for me. Thanks for having Dr. Collins o...., David H
I wonder what explanation archeologists have about the sulphur balls in the site that I think Ron Wyatt thought was Sodom? Not saying I believe Wyatt, I don't know anything about this.. but it would be interesting to hear this guy explain why Wyatt's site is wrong.
Collins claimed in another video what Wyatt found were natural formations and COMPLETELY dismissed it and admitted the Sulphur balls found there, but says it's NOT one of the cities of the plains despite the strange angular formations, how it's all ashy and falls apart, And all the Sulphur balls found there. Wyatt's team said they also found bones there too. Just because Wyatt was never a 'proFESSor' doesn't make him incorrect. I still enjoy what Wyatt found and believe most of it.
@@Grillenheimer My comment did not show up but I tried to tell you that there’s another archaeologist who has pictures of the sites that Ron photographed in the 80s and 90s only from the 1930s and the deterioration over that 50 years is very evident. But the original pictures from the 1930s leave no doubt that what Ron found were remains of cities.
@@Grillenheimer It doesn’t rule out that a similar event happened there, just to a different city, after all he states such events are not uncommon. He states that his site now is very much matching as the city of Sodom.
@@amazinggrace5692 not with the location that he is claiming. In Hebrew writings the Mediterranean Sea faced you’re back and the Jordan River and the Dead Sea were in front of you . Directions were oriented East to West. Ezekiel 16:46 Your older sister Samaria is on thy left hand and Your younger sister Sodom is on your right hand. That puts Sodom south of Jerusalem because we know that Samaria is north. Directions were oriented with the temple.
It's extraordinary how we ignore such astrophysical events which we know have destroyed species, civilisations and continents in the past. When we do get a near miss its usually after the effect!
If the burst was big enough to eliminate LA and its neighboring counties, then how did Lot survive in the small neighboring town to run to of Zoar? Where do you place Zoar?
Zoar was also to be destroyed, but Lot asked that he be allowed to go there and God spared the city of Zoar for Lot’s sake alone. However, Lot shortly fled Zoar to live in a cave in the hillside with his two daughters, most likely as he saw the same behavior in Zoar as in Sodom and he fear it would still be destroyed in the same manner. He didn’t escape the depravity as it was engrained somewhat in both of his daughters who got him drunk and each took their turn getting pregnant by him to continue the family line (Genesis 19:30-38)
I LOVE listening to Bob Rucker's discussions on what his investigations on the Shroud have uncovered! Having just read Joe Marino's new article on his invisible reweaving theory, I'm looking forward to hearing what Bob has to say about this. Or, Mike, even better...how about getting the 2of them together to discuss this?
The Shroud of Turin is the world’s first selfie. And so undeniably matches the description of the burial and ascension of Messiah. Just as the evidence for Sodom and Gomorrah matches the Old Testament. But if people don’t want to believe, they will refuse to see the obvious. So sad for them.
Out of curiosity, why does it seem like this is the first I'm hearing of this? Just about all of my study Bibles put the city of Sodom south of the Dead Sea. He's been excavating for over a decade, why is this only being discussed now? Also, what about the city of Gomorrah?
It's one of the biggest confirmations of Biblical history to date, followed by one of the greatest media blackouts in history. There is more evidence Dr. collins did not discuss in this interview confirming the "evil" of this famous city-
Same reason the Smithsonian impounded all those giant skeletons that were dug out of mounds in the Mississippi valley during the 1800's. Same reason the "coneheads" of Peru are not acknowledged as a separte homonid species. The little men behind the curtain aren't little at all...
Mapping the ancient texts on to archaeology is indeed a facinating prospect. The paucity of humility here is disturbing though. An air-bursting cataclysm so indiscriminate in scope must make one wonder about the barely supressed glee expressed in the notion that God did it- as it is written. ”Well, at least the babies wouldn’t have felt a bloody thing.” ”Well, we don’t judge God’s actions.” Does innocence have any meaning in this scheme? What is the idea behind Jesus’ innocence? Doesn’t it actually work better as a parable promoting the idea that corruption ultimately ends in self-destruction? Must we indulge in this kind of schardenfreude; do we have to think of ourselves as insects to be stamped upon?
@@SeanMcDowell Yes I liked Joels' research on the southern site and now I am hearing about Dr. Collins' northern site. Interesting. I will see what else Dr. Collin's has to say. Thank you Sean. Different things they both bring up... Hmmm. More research is required for me to know which way to go. Both have made good arguments. Collins has been at his dig for years so he has a lot of credence but it's all about location, location, location isn't it. One of them has to be missing something. God bless you.
Ron Wyatt has already found it, but since he was "just" an amateur archeologist, these so called "academics" are just jealous and want to discredit him
Hi Sean! I found your interview of Joel Kramer about 6 months ago of this topic interesting as well as this one. Now i learn for the first time of this other more recently digged site. I would be interested in what kind of explanation mr Collins has (if any) to the findings of bab edh-Dhra, the sulfur balls, two cities and a cemetery burned at the same time and human skeletons etc showing it was more likely a fast event than a slow climate change type of a thing. It seems to me to be in accordance with biblical description over there but maybe the location would fit better if mr Collins has it right.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Air bursts may not be unique, but finding countless sulfer balls (more pure than any other sulfer found on earth by far) that have been burned, buried in cities that are visibly turned to ash... I've never heard of brimstone being translated burning stone. I think that the original site that was found by Ron Wyatt is the correct location. Sadly, I feel like this is a distraction so people don't look at the actual sites.
@@brockmerchant3663 I agree. I think Dr. Collins is missing quite a few details here in his description of the Biblical account. And air bursts and meteorites/asteroids are used way too much nowadays by all sorts of scientists to explain all sorts of catastrophes. It really seems like a secular explanation, and a misinterpretation of what the Bible actually describes (raining down burning sulfur/brimstone). Not an asteroid or meteorite.
@@222ableVelo exactly. It's easy to explain the southern location by the Bible's description of what took place there. The northern location is good for scientists to confirm as sodom and dismiss as an air burst.
@vanuaturly well thankfully we have you to arbitrate truth to us... Regardless of what you think about Ron Wyatt (I don't agree with alot of things he said either), the location and evidence is still there.
What benifit will it provide to find the old cities rather than learning lessons from their stories and applying them to our life so that we should not face same fate.
I also heard that they know it was destroyed by fire rather then by an attack by men because no arrowheads were found, which if there were arrowheads it would mean men destroyed it. Then i heard that there were bones of some people, and some were only from the waist down because they were standing behind a low wall. The top part of the skeleton’s are gone.
Ions of blowing sand , erosion, and topsoil change likely buried these cities and they will be found in due time Fascinating video. Going to read the related scriptures
Hi Sean, good videos, I watch them all the time. My question is how to reconcile Kramer view on the Sodoma location, and Collins view. Maybe a question to Dr. Collins. Is the site has the 5 cities as Kramer describes, and one was not destroyed?
No all five [fenced cities] where destroyed. Zeboiim is plural, [gazelles] meaning that it was twin cities. Zoar means little and was probably not a fenced city, nor one of the five, but was a farming / rural village.
So all those sulphur balls in the southern site would have been peripheral fallout from the burst over the northern site. At the northern site, ALL the sulphur would have burned entirely.
And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town. Matthew 10
" Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.” Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company." Genesis 13:9-11 NIV
It's kind of funny how people dismiss Ron Wyatt's findings because he wasn't a professional archaeologist. Is it not in God's nature to use someone like Ron rather than a renown expert? His video/physical evidence and lab tests speak for themself. I'm not a sda and I disagree with some of Ron's theology, but I do believe he loved Jesus and was used by God. These new findings can't hold a candle to the mountains of evidence that many have since verified at the sites Ron discovered.
Deuteronomy 1 17: Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it. Proverbs 24 23: These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment. (KJV 1611)
I do believe Ron Wyatt found the actual crossing of the Red Sea & Mt. Sanai in Saudi Arabia completely across the Sanai Peninsula rather than all previous speculated crossings barely out of the Nile River Valley in marshland areas. I also think his documentation for the site of Noah's Ark is more valid than anyone else . . . after that, perhaps his fame got the better of him, he just tried to find everything all on his own, also the SDA church started pressuring him because some of these discoveries threatened the accuracy of their faith!!!
Great work. Did you first identify the area where the meteorite crashed and burned, and assume that Sodom must be under that area since the Bible says the city was burned and buried? Also, how much of the city has now been excavated? Did you find the famous city gates where the angels entered Sodom? This is amazing!
I see a lot of people asking what about the other side? The north side? I would submit we should go with what the Bible says always. So we should cross examine both Kramer and Collins against the Scriptures. It would be helpful if all the passages mentioning these locations were made public so each person could go look for themselves and we could all blatantly see what the Bible says. Wouldn't it be interesting if God knew these passages would somehow cause people to see it both ways and so therefore burned down cities in BOTH regions, one just not being mentioned in Scripture as it wouldn't have been relevant to Abraham's story? Just a thought. There could have easily been other wicked cities God destroyed and didn't tell us about.
Interesting take, but it is at odds with the Bible text in Genesis 19 vs 20-25. Here Lot says, let us flee to this small town close enough for us to run to which the Bible says was called Zoar (on the southern end of the Dead Sea). I really liked the view and explanation of Joel Kramer (Expedition Bible series) that shows the "sulfur balls" from a distinct layer in the southern Dead Sea that may have been extinguished by the water. The Bible also clearly states "rained down sulfur" and when you see how they drip when Kramer burns some, it makes sense to me.
Is this the same location that Ron Wyatt discovered years ago?? It was twin cities with sphinx at the entrance. The buildings still stand but will crumble if touched.
I remember Ron's documentary and is still on UA-cam. Scientists also tested and burned the ash that burnt blue. They said the sulphur content was 98% and not of this Earth with concentration that high. The Bible states it was a fervent heat.
Dear@@reuben4yahshua837 , Think about this. Maybe in middle school science class you learned that elemental sulfur has a low combustion temperature; it catches on fire easily. When sulfur burns it turns into a gas - sulfur dioxide and a gas is easily dispersed in the wind. I used to teach this in my middle school science class. Now think about what you said ! You said, "evidence of intense heat and melting also". What do you think would happen to sulfur in the presence of "intense heat and melting" ? if you are thinking it would quickly burn changing into SO2 then you are right. If it easily burns under low heat, then it will rapidly convert to SO2 under intense heat and then would be none left. Form the perspective of basic science, if you found elemental sulfur (balls or any form) present in the destruction layer at an excavation, this would mean that this layer was not subject to intense heat. I hope you can clearly see that if you find Sulfur somewhere in the Levant, that would be evidence that it is NOT the site of the destruction of Sodom. Do you understand the reasoning, science and logic supporting this conclusion ? It is very apparent that people like Ron Wyatt did not understand science well enough to understand this issue, because when he found some naturally occurring elemental sulfur in the area, he jumped to the misinformed conclusion that the presence of sulfur (and he didn't listen to how the geologists told him it was naturally occurring) is some kind of proof that he had found Sodom (despite the fact that his conclusions were contrary to the nature of sulfur according to established science). Note that 99.9+ pure sulfur (virtually 100%) is found naturally occurring in many places around the world. You can go to science supply catalogs and buy samples of virtually pure, naturally occurring, elemental sulfur for your collection , as I did for my classroom geology collection. Wyatt tries to make it seem that what is found around the Dead Sea is more pure than in other places and that is simply not true. Be Well, DZ
@@Silverheart1956I enjoy science, but it has it’s limitations and biases. For example, it is science so called that tells us the world is billions of years old and that there isn’t a Creator, but that it was a cosmic combustion that caused this planet and everything on it. It was scientists that scoffed at Christians and the Bible because they couldn’t find any evidence of the Hittites - until finally there was. Scientists are people who outwardly like to crow about how they are unbiased and “logical” yet it’s pretty obvious that the vast majority of them are not unbiased when they see the intricacies of just a single cell, and yet refuse to acknowledge a Creator; when they can admire artwork or architecture and somehow manage to acknowledge an artist or builder. Nature itself points to a Creator and as the vast majority of scientists refuse to see the obvious, I take what they say with more than a grain of salt. Jesus passed by the learned of His day and chose humble laborers for His disciples. The fact that Ron Wyatt wasn’t a trained scientist doesn’t at all mean that God didn’t work through him. I don’t know much about Mr Wyatt, but when people start dumping on someone who they disagree with and arrogantly cast that someone aside as unlearned it calls to mind those learned teachers of Christ’s day and how He couldn’t use them due to their pride and spiritual blindness. Happy Sabbath.
It must have been more than 35 years ago i bought a used book. A pastor had done some scuba diving in the dead sea. I think he wrote of feeling building remains. It must have been convincing. My son became a marine archeologist after reading the book. Remember that Sodom and Gomorrah were in a larger inhabited area. There could be city walls and nearby villages. The Almighty God of the most high heavens is linked to lightning, hail, sparks that run along the ground, etc. Tar pits nearby provided the pitch used for cement in those days. I can easily imagine tornado winds picking up sulpher or slime from the dead sea area and leaving the dead sea as a pit whether the cities were there or not. The tar pits might be part of what made the cities rich.
Great interview. So what I've pieced together is, archaeologists in the past went looking for biblical sites but didn't research biblical text to find them? Lol Perfect example of man's science.
The people of Turkey spent 2,000-years with their noses stuck in a useless book reading about what a mythical guy "Jesus" said. They did not have time to teach themselves about earthquake resistant infrastructure and home building. That was not in the Bible. As a result in their recent earthquake 34,000 people died. The people of New Zealand did not waste their time on religious rubbish. They taught themselves about how to build earthquake resistant infrastructure and homes. So in their recent earthquake 5- people died. So much for standing for Jesus eh Petr!
Dear @Petr123 paco, You got it ! Except Wyatt is in no way an archaeologist. However, Yes, Wyatt when looking for Biblical sites and failed to resaerch the biblical text to see where the Scriptures locate the city of Sodom. But that is not all, He also failed to research the scientific aspect of what he found and misinterpreted the finding of elemental sulfur that is naturally occurring in the area. He didn't consult a geologist to find out the truth. DZ
I’m curious about the city of Zoar…it’s seemed by biblical description to be a place that Lot didn’t particularly like to be in…yet it must not have been as sinful as Sodom and Gomorrah. Wasn’t Zoar on the southern end of the Dead Sea ? I could talk or hear about biblical archaeology and history all day and night…wonderful interview! 👌🏼

Sadly there are people who simply can't believe they are wrong. You have shown a disregard for Ron Wyatt's discovery of Sodom, even though many have gone to the city.
i read the article (Hammam airburst). This is incredible. Not just Tall alHammam - also all surrounding cities including Jericho - and there was no resettlement for up to 600 years because os salt. The evidence is irrefutable.
He absolutely did. I believe its the same spot where NOTHING GROWS after its gate and the remnants of scorching heat remains, even 95 to 99% pure sulfur- the ONLY place on earth such sulfur is found.

Sign of a good interviewer. I hate it when interviewers try to show off their one knowledge by occupying half the conversation.
Amen! The "interview" where I first heard him was more of an "interject" and that's why I found this video. Great stuff!
Yes! And follows along paying attention the entire time.
@@jejwood That's an understatement!

🤣🤣🤣 that was smart and honest pastor
It's Billy Graham. The exact words actually referred to San Francisco not America per se.

There is no such thing as coincidence actually
Especially when it comes to why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. Even those who came after Sodom and Camorra had a very specific idea of why the city was destroyed. Context is everything. Thoughts and prayers!

Can only agree.

What archaeological evidence
There is none ,
They can't provide evidence because it doesn't exist..
This is amazing! Suggestion for the future, when scientific papers are referenced in the video, why not include a link in the description? A lot of students presumably watch your videos and will often have access through their university network - in case the papers aren't open access to begin with :)

Chances are that the referenced papers don't really support claims or are heavily cherry picked. It would help give legitimacy to claims.

With all my respects to the doctor and the audience. My question to thes archaeologist is, did they find evidence of the Brimstone rain mentioned in Genesis 19:24-25 in and around such cities? Because it The KJV Bible said "Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven;
And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground" The ONLY place that has such evidence, was found by the late Dr.

Joel Kramer needs to enter the chat!!!!
Totally agree

At some point maybe we can have a chat between them!

Thank you Sean and Steven
Kind regards Kim
All this conflict tells me they have no idea if it’s the right spot
Ron Wyatt has already found it, but since he was "just" an amateur archeologist, these so called "academics" are just jealous and want to discredit him
Thank you so much, fascinating. I will follow Collins for sure 👍🙏
Ron Wyatt is a liar. Anyone convinced of his discoveries has blinders on.
Would have been helpful to display a map while talking of locations. Visual aids help people like me
This is so great, thank you.
Are there movies or pictures of the excavations that he has done? Where are they on the net?
Ions of blowing sand , erosion, and topsoil change likely buried these cities and they will be found in due time
Fascinating video.
Great questions. I’m going to do a follow up conversation to highlight the differences so people can see strengths and weaknesses
Please, Dr. Collins, write an updated version of your book.
And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.
Matthew 10
Hi Sean, what a great interview with Doctor Collins. I really enjoyed it. Thanks again, Eric Martin
Thanks, Eric!
Deuteronomy 1
17: Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.
Proverbs 24
23: These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
(KJV 1611)
No ! Wyatt should be dismissed because of a strong lack of evidence for his claims !
He actually turned out to be a fraud. Research it.
Abraham was the tenth generation from Noah through Shem and was born 352 years after the Deluge, in 2018 B.C.E.
How might dating Abraham as mentioned affect YEC and OEC?
Dont think so, im conviced of rons due to all the sulphur
I remember Ron's documentary and is still on UA-cam. Scientists also tested and burned the ash that burnt blue. They said the sulphur content was 98% and not of this Earth with concentration that high. The Bible states it was a fervent heat.
Wow that Story exceed the stories Wyatt made up.
Dear@@reuben4yahshua837 ,
Think about this.
Lol
Perfect example of man's science.
Dear @Petr123 paco,
You got it !
DZ
Percect example of man's science?
Awesome stuff!
This was excellent
Didnt Ron wyatt find these northern sites in the 70's?

Genesis chapter 13, where the bible gives us the geographical indicators of the whereabouts of Sodom and her five fortified city state.
And he [Abraham] went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, *between Bethel and Hai*
{Genesis 13:3}
...
{Genesis 13:10-11}
(The same location, east from Bethel and Hai, is...Modern day Tall el-Hammam, Jordan.
Moses and the Israelites would setup camp on the ruins of Sodom, before crossing *the Jordan River* into The promise land.)
And they removed from Almondiblathaim, and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.
{Numbers 33:47-49}
Tall el-Hammam is modern day Sodom.
God bless
Thank you! I just wrote this simplified that Sodom and Gomorrah in the Hebrew translation was at least 5 cities not literally 2.
Sadly there are people who simply can't believe they are wrong. You have shown a disregard for Ron Wyatt's discovery of Sodom, even though many have gone to the city.
