Fun fact: The G35, G37, Q50 and Q60 are actually the next generation of the Skyline family. As a matter of fact, in Japan these models carry on the emblems of Nissan Skyline (G37/Skyline 370GT, G35/ Skyline 350GT, Q60/ Skyline 400R...). So if you had one of these, well, you've just basically owned a Nissan Skyline with the power of a Nissan Z.
Thank you!!! I’m glad people are staring to accept this fact. But, you have to tell them that Gs and Qs are not a GT-R… they are Skylines in Japan. Only difference is LHD vs RHD.
@@Lawrence_McKnight Yes, Im glad that someone just realized that these cars are actually Skylines. However, the 2009-2023 Nissan GTR is NOT a Skyline model. It has been confirmed by Nissan that the new GTR will be a stand alone model so it's basically a Nissan GTR, not a Skyline.
@@ameraboukoura6091 Haha I get what you're saying brother, I used to have the exact same thought like you. I mean I like the Q50 and also 60 but sometimes they kinda look like a Huyndai Genesis to me🤣🤣. But still I do love them as well as the G35 and G37
I have a 2012 Infinity G37 IPL 6MT that I’ve owned for 6 years and absolutely love driving that car. I can never see myself ever getting ride of it!!! Definitely one of the best cars I’ve driven Forsure!
I own both an 06 g35 sedan 6mt and a 12 g37 sedan 6mt and they are great vehicles, even though I enjoy my g35 more since it feels more raw and the g37 seems more refined
I drive an 08’ G37s Coupe with the 6mt. I didn’t love or was even interested in cars until I found this thing. I drove the hell outta this car when I first bought it. Definitely an amazing first car to enter into the “car scene”. Not to mention by just adding some boost you can compete with literally the best of the best. I’ll drive this car until it truly dies.
I bought a 2009 G37 Coupe with 40k miles in 2013, and still have it. Now has 110k miles, and never had a single issue with it - the car has been great. Super reliable, solid power and fun to drive, and a pretty good interior even in 2023. Faily strong mod scene makes it fun to own/mod yourself without spending a ton of $ on parts. After 10 years of ownership, I have zero complaints! Not sure if I'd be saying the same if I bought a BMW 3 series instead
I had a G37 IPL with the 3.7, and now have an AWD 2018 Q50. The difference in handling was huge. The G37 was lighter and much more nimble. Sooooo I replaced the dampers on my Q with RS-R DDS compatible coilovers, along with an aftermarket rear anti swaybar which helped a LOT. THEN larger heat exchanger, front and rear LSD's, Level 10 transmission upgrade, Pure stage 2 turbos, larger injectors, High flow cats, CBE, and higher volume fuel pumps. I "IPL-ed" my Q50. The G37IPL came just fine from the factory. A supercharger might have been an option for more power, but I was pretty pleased with it in the OEM IPL trim. I did end up getting a 800 HP GTR. I should have kept my Q50 stock in hindsight, and gotten the GT-R sooner, not spending the $20K in aftermarket parts for my Q50. The Q60 is a beautiful looking car, unfortunately it's nothing like the old z. The new Z is also nothing like the old Z, and not in a good way. Nissan should have just dropped in the 3.0T into the old Z and called it quits.
Yeah, that was the problem with the old Z's though.. it was OLD. Yes they could hv redesigned it and put the new 3.0l in the new body, but honestly, everyone would have been expecting a ground up new car and not just another redesigned Z instead. Changing of the times doesn't always mean it's all better. But, if they can make new better than old, give em a chance to tweak the new new to be a better upgraded advancement. A few years to start mixing the new tech to out perform the old developed models. It's the babysteps of progress.
I’m a proud owner of a 2006 G35 manual coupe (350gt Skyline 😏) and it’s good to hear good pub over the street take over G35s giving it a bad wrap. Plus, you short change G35 you’re also shorting the 350Z.
Currently have a G35, G37, Q60 RS, 350z, & 370z (among other Zs) ... and I must say that the G35 is the most fun and best handling of them all. It's a great, timeless car.
Dont sleep on the Q. The VR30 has been out for awhile now and if you dont follow bonnie & clyde racing or racebox or even Boostnmotion, youre playing yourself. The Gs are amazing for sure, but the VR30 can make 500lb torque easily. It may not be manual anymore (this is why you buy the Z), but the skyline DNA is there. Its still a tuner luxury car and its still great.
I went from driving a G35 coupe with a manual transmission to a G37 S coupe with a manual transmission. Its only lightly tuned but will run with cars way out of its price range (918's, C36's, M4 and M8's to name a few). Even at being 16 years old and over 100K miles it will perform at a high level which to me is what originally made the GT-R's famous. They was competing toe to toe with cars twice their cost. And the skylines continue to do so even today.
Love my '13' G37 Sedan with the 7AT. Fit all my needs perfectly, fast enough to have fun, RWD, high revving NA motor, able to carry passengers/cargo, and being that I went with a Journey Sedan in dark grey, looks that don't have every cop within miles staring at you. Ironically just embarrassed a brand new WRX with it tonight and I've got 130k on the clock lol.
I grew up racing dirt karts so naturally always wanted a drift car. Ive always thought of the G35 as my achievable dream drift daily. Manifestation and hard work lead me to a 2004 G35 premium package in ivory pearl white with black interior and the 6 speed RWD. By far the best car ive ever owned and will never part ways with it. My only complaint is the cooling systems can be a little hassle. This car was "cheap" there for a while and i feel grateful finding such a rare spec with alot of bolt ons and full set of drift spares. Would recommend 100% if possible, the parts can be spendy but there's also cheap parts you can take a chance on. Drift tax is real people!
My '08 G37 taught ME how to drift! Literally, I had tried many times; until one day while taking a corner in 2nd gear while revved high. Upon shifting into 3rd; the car smoothly let go of rear traction and I drifted until I released the steering wheel, let off the gas, and let the G correct itself. In that moment, I understood. Went on to master the drift in my G. I miss that lil whip.❤
Great video! I actually have always felt Infiniti is underrated for a variety of reasons (many of which you covered). I do hope Infiniti is able to turn around their recent financial woes and make a comeback. Most of their vehicles offer tremendous value.
Personally, I prefer the styling of the ‘06/‘07 G35 Coupe. With the OEM spoiler of course. It has the right amount of angles and it’s the best final refresh before going to the ‘curvier’ G37 in ‘08 which in my opinion, doesn’t look as mean as its predecessor.
I have a 07 V36. I Chose to restore this car instead of dropping $50 to $60 G’s on a new 20 to 22 something. 100% unbreakable when you keep it 400hp with no power adders and built with the right parts. Let's be very clear only the 2007-2008 g35 sedan made over 300hp at 306hp absolutely no g35 coupe of any years made more than 297hp in stock trim and the sedan also weighs less
It’s funny this video popped up. I used to have a g35 sedan with the HR motor and I loved it. Sold it to my mom and got a 2006 M35. I missed the sportiness of the G so I’m looking at one one Saturday with paddle shifters and a lsd. I love G’s so much but I wish I could afford a Q50😂
I had a couple versions but my 03 sedan was a total monster with only a cold air intake and resonator delete. I literally destroyed everything with it, no exceptions. Never had a car that would break loose when you kicked it down at 50mph even with performance rubber. It would rev so fast the tires never stood a chance. A set of headers and full performance exhaust toned down the explosiveness and made a drifter out of it. I was finally able to modulate the throttle enough to keep it from around in circles on me. And the sound of a VQ with headers and not an obnoxious fart was magical lol. Best car ever! I've now owned 4 Infinitis.
I wouldn’t say you were destroying everything with your basically stock 2003 g35 sedan dude. They come with like 260 horsepower. That’s only like 210 wheel horsepower… I have a fbo g37 sedan tuned on e85 and it’s still a slow car with 360 wheel horsepower. They’re fun and nice cars, but you’re not gonna be beating very many cars in a race
@@investinjahcoin5029I'm not you and my car was not the same as yours. Your problems are not mine. Your G is bigger and heavier just to start with. A friend had a stock 08 G37 S Coupe and it wasn't anything like mine, it was pretty but not particularly quick. I never lost a race with that engine under the hood. I had a seemingly oddball engine, built on a good day or by the right guy I guess. I've had 4 VQs and this was the special one. It's uniqueness is what kept me coming back to see if they were all made this way but they weren't unfortunately. It revved so fast nothing could take it off the line. I had to spend some $ to fill the real wheel wells with the best rubber I could afford to keep the spinning down and it was on at least it's second rear transaxle (newest was an LSD) as the original couldn't handle the snap that this thing would give it off the line forever. My family are speed freaks, we've put together some balanced up & built big block Dodges and small block Chevy's. This engine reminded me of the balanced 327 we did, it would rev instantly and freely from an idle. My G smoked Mustang GTs, Beemers, GTPs, a WS6 Trans Am and even an older Ferrari (not a particularly fast one but a fun car to say I beat though lol). Sadly I believe it's "looseness" and free revving also were it's demise as it grenaded on the highway one day on the way to work. I changed the engine and added more goodies to the new engine but it wasn't even close to my old one. More docile and manageable to hold sideways in a drift but definitely not as quick in a straight line rip. I even let my teenage daughter drive it with the new engine, it was actually a huge disappointment because it wasn't the same ripper it used to be. Such a shame that it wasn't as quick but I found out that a VQ with headers and big pipe stainless exhaust has an absolutely incredible sound that I really miss.
@@TedS-kq9im interesting. Seems you had a unicorn engine. I’ve only seen one like that. That also died. It was in some older Nissan Murano. Was running really lean, but it was like really quick for some reason. Very interesting
@@investinjahcoin5029 I think it happens every so often. A friend had an old Ford Ranger with I believe a 2.9 liter V6 and the bugger was just like my VQ. Super quick to rev and had tons of power. My brother was a mechanic at a Ford dealer at the time and worked on it and said he'd never seen another one like it. Sometimes we just get lucky and get a good one but they never seem to last unfortunately. My buddy's engine went too.
I have a 2008 Infiniti g37 journey coupe that I just started buildin'. I have Injen intakes, custom GTR style headlights, black housing taillights & Avid.1 AV20 wheels staggered. It is so much fun to drive. I don't think I will ever sell this car.
I own a high mileage but very clean 2013 G37 Journey Sedan that I bought during the Pandemic in 2020! As a Daily Driver this car is good enough for me! Just enjoy the soft comfortable ride!😊

When the convertible g37 Bloomingdale's edition came out, the one with platinum paint, red leather interior red real woodgrain trim on staggered 19inch chrome stock wheels, that car blew away all g models, the g37 Bloomingdale's edition is super classy and extremely rare, my neighbor owns one in pristine showroom condition and it turns heads like you wouldn't believe, the coupes and sedan are ok but that particular convertible is amazing looking, the rear lights are slimmer and sleeker too waaaaay sportier
I think the EX35/EX37/QX50 (3.7 engine) model also deserve to be reconigzed as a memorable infiniti car, it had all qualities of the G platform in a stiylish crossover dress.
2014-2015 Q50 is the best imo. Reliable powertrain with modern looks and a better interior. Unfortunately didn’t come in manual but more and more people are swapping their Qs, which will hopefully be me soon.
2013 g37x sedan here. Got it cause my brother wrecked my Genesis coupe which I also enjoyed. I wanted another coupe but it wasn’t in the cards this time. My G has been good to me. Even though I had to replace the serpentine belt and steering pump. One of the best bang for buck vehicles. Ain’t nothing like that VQ sound. Especially the 3.5 stock sound. But even a motordyne exhaust on a 3.7 sounds amazing. I might consider a Q60 next. If not a 370z or some muscle car. I think I’m gonna keep my G.
I have a 2010 G37S convertible and love it! I'd be in the market for a new one if they existed. Disappointed Infiniti started going with smaller displacement twin turbo instead of larger naturally aspirated engines to get more power in newer cars.
You do realize Nissan had twin turbo cars before the vqs came out. The vr30 in the q60/ Nissan z sounds amazing with a borla exhaust, and the borla exhaust is sadly the only good sounding exhaust for the car by far(look at my shorts). The engine is so much better then the vqs in terms of making power. E85 and vrx70 turbos by z1 gets you 789 wheel horsepower(max effort), or 722whp(conservative). You’d could also get 1000 wheel horsepower out of ams alpha 10 turbos, but you’ll need to build the engine. Stock the q60 sounds like a vacuum because it has 4 catalytic converters and a big muffler.
I've been looking at the G35 and G37 and not sure what one I want. BUT I'm looking at the also as the imported Nissan Skyline VQ line. I'm the car guy who has to have something no one else has, like my '86 Shelby GLHS and my monster lifted 04 Volvo XC70 on 32" tires and about 400 hp. Imported VQ Skyline is right up my alley.
Yup, so instead of spending a lot of money just to get a new Nissan 400Z, you can actually get a Q50 or Q60 with the exact same engine but a lot more cheaper.
I would love one of those G37 convertibles, if I wasn't scared of the expense of repairing that retractable hardtop. My goal is a decent G37 manual. Hard to find for a good price though.
Ive owned my G37x sedan for about 3 years now car had 112k when I got it im at 143k now its given me zero problems ive done all my own maintenance so ive saved some money there but in my opinion its about as good as u can get with an NA v6

So the Q50 was offered in its first gen with a 3.7 then it’s second gwn has options for the 3.5 hybrid and a 3.0T The Q60 was originally just a rebadged g37 coupe with the same 3.7 motor but when it switched to the new body it was offered with either a 2.0t or a 3.0t
At which point were you going to mention the part about how the g35, g37 and q50/q60 are just rebadged skylines🤣 appreciate noting the primeras tho i used to have one and they are awesome! I also have the skyline v35 (g35) 4 door and its definitely a lot of car for the money

I have a fbo g37 sedan tuned on e85 and it’s still a slow car with 360 wheel horsepower.
500 Hp g37xsedan here
I have a 2008 Infiniti g37 journey coupe that I just started buildin'. I have Injen intakes, custom GTR style headlights, black housing taillights & Avid.1 AV20 wheels staggered. It is so much fun to drive. I don't think I will ever sell this car.
I have the q50s! Best car I’ve ever driven so far!
The 306hp VQ was only used in the G35 in 07 and 08. Original models had like 287hp
I got a 09 g37 sedan as first car after I graduated high school and it’s definitely worth it as a first car for young car enthusiast and it’s reliable
The G37 was probably the best infiniti usa car. It had the perfect mix at the time of luxury, performance, styling, technology and price.
just picked up a mt g35 and couldn’t be happier
I own a high mileage but very clean 2013 G37 Journey Sedan that I bought during the Pandemic in 2020! As a Daily Driver this car is good enough for me! Just enjoy the soft comfortable ride!😊

Had to give a little something for this video. I’m a proud owner of a 2006 G35 (350gt Skyline 😏) and it’s good to hear good pub over the street take over G35s giving it a bad wrap. Plus, you short change G35 you’re also shorting the 350Z.
Thanks for watching!
Loving my G37.
As a 370z owner its changed my life..love my Z
Great video proud owner of a 2003 Infiniti G35 coupe and 2008 Infiniti G37 coupe
My '09 G37s convertible still gets smiles and comments.
2003 g35 coupe strong as ever it’s like having a go cart all over again
as a g37 owner im proud and very happy
Thanks for watching
@@IdealMediaChannel welcome great vid gotta say
me watching ideal media drop a video on infiniti knowing damn well that this will minorly increase the value of my car
Steer by wire isn’t something to be proud of 😂
I want a trumpet sounding G 35🫣😂
G37 owner has enter the chat....100 percent agree
Fun Facts, 2014 and 2015 Q60 are rebadged G37 Coupes, not the new style with the TT, there was no 2016 Q60, and now Q60 is canceled.
Have a G35x sedan & I love it driving it never gets old unfortunately next year I’m looking to get a G37 S coupe for the extra power
I own a 04 G35 coupe definitely love the car.
I have a FB0 Q60 AWD, and I love it, only wish it came in manual
I will always enjoy my 05 G35 such a fun car to drive/ so many aftermarket opitions very fun car.
very reliable and easy to build
i actually just got a g37 sedan RWD for around 10k. it's awesome. (especially for being my first ever car)
174k miles on my tuned G37 Sedan 💪
I don't own a g35 but I own the M35x and love it 210k on her and still going strong.
3:53 If you guys had a shirt with the drivetrain I would totally buy that
2014-2015 Q50 is the best imo. Reliable powertrain with modern looks and a better interior. Unfortunately didn’t come in manual but more and more people are swapping their Qs, which will hopefully be me soon.
The other popular car that needs to be talked next is the is300 as they are popular as the g35/37 because of so much aftermarket support
@@2seep yes in 1992 I was working for Nissan and got to drive the 300zx twin turbo at Poconos Speedway.
Also the z took the VR 30from the q50-q60
Yup, so instead of spending a lot of money just to get a new Nissan 400Z, you can actually get a Q50 or Q60 with the exact same engine but a lot more cheaper.
The Edgar’s skyline!
Jus bought a Q50 3.0t and put a jb4 tune on it, smokes damn near everything
It’s all fun and games till you find a Q40 and love it
I would put the G37xS, at the top, personally.
I like the mario sound clip!
is there any big difference with those and the m37?
I would love one of those G37 convertibles, if I wasn't scared of the expense of repairing that retractable hardtop.
My goal is a decent G37 manual. Hard to find for a good price though.
BRAD IS BACK WOOOOO
09 G37S RWD what skyline does it fall under ?
i have a cammed Q40 FBO and i have to say you gotta go with the "admin" tune
Ive owned my G37x sedan for about 3 years now car had 112k when I got it im at 143k now its given me zero problems ive done all my own maintenance so ive saved some money there but in my opinion its about as good as u can get with an NA v6
It’s refreshing to take a closer look at cars that aren’t in the usual suspects lineup. For the few who dare to be different. You let the cat out of the bag!
Unfortunately I think the cat has been out of the bag... I love my G35 sedan. Drift tax has even effected these cars as well.
So the Q50 was offered in its first gen with a 3.7 then it’s second gwn has options for the 3.5 hybrid and a 3.0T
The Q60 was originally just a rebadged g37 coupe with the same 3.7 motor but when it switched to the new body it was offered with either a 2.0t or a 3.0t
What do you guys think about the Infiniti q40 2015 3.7
the 2010 g37x sedan tend to float the front end at 100mph+...any suggestions? drop and ground effects?
Like the vid, except 1 correction. I drive a G37S and as much as I would love to agree with you having 348 hp but unfortunately it is 328 hp...
Glad to own g35 and g37
At which point were you going to mention the part about how the g35, g37 and q50/q60 are just rebadged skylines🤣 appreciate noting the primeras tho i used to have one and they are awesome! I also have the skyline v35 (g35) 4 door and its definitely a lot of car for the money
Love 03 G35 sedan. Tons of aftermarket parts and its fun to drive. Grew up driving Hondas so it was only fair i graduate to the next most hated cars hahaha 😂 its a great platform tho!
My 2004 G35 is sitting in my carport right now
You missed the 2015 Q40 😢, awsome car.❤
We come for the car content. We stay for the humor 🤣
I love my 2008 G35xS
Owner here The only downfall is the plethora of trima annd trying to find the right aftermarket part for it😅
beautiful video. I love Infiniti. 😂
G20 shares off the B13 Sentra SER
