My life is just fear, fear and fear 24/7. This is one of the worst mental health broblems there is, no doubt about it. I am afraid of everything that involves socializing, i'm afraid of going out in public, i'm afraid of people looking at me, i'm afraid of how people are going to react to everything, i've lost my friends because of it, no one wants to talk to me because i make everyone feel so uncomfortable. It's so exhausting all the time i don't have energy left for anything. I have to deal with it every single day alone. Because no one else understands it. I cry because of it at least once a week. I have visited a doctor few times but they have always diagnosed me wrong. It will get better in time if you try to force yourself into social situations, but it's a very, VERY slow process. I just don't have almost any motivation or energy left to do anything, so yeah it has pretty much ruined my life.

My social anxiety has prevented me from getting a job, and from moving out of my parents' place.
I sit in my room all day, too freaked out to go anywhere.
    It sucks.

I think social anxiety people struggle with maintaining a job rather than getting a job.

I've been like this for 8 months it's hard for me to maintain eye contact with people. Everytime I get nervous I feel like others can feel it too.

i have lost everything now, any life that was in me has gone, i'm completely dead inside, anytime i try to speak i have a panic attack, so my sentences are short and functional doesn't make for great relationship building

Fear is probably the worst emotion of all; along with pain.

Identifying social anxiety at early age and planning their carrier and jobs with less social interaction may decrease the impact of SAD on Social anxiety sufferers life.

This guy truely knows what is going on in a SAD patient. I am a sufferer myself and after some therapy i have found the courage to tell one of my family member. She was worried but at the same time have a very shallow idea about SAD. She just interpret it as shy and cooped out too much at home. Its really hard to get a normal person to realise what is going on. I explained for 2 hours and still the boulder wont budge.

SAD is like a thief. It can lead largely to avoidance behaviour. Avoidance robs you of your life. As you avoid situations you miss out on life. Then other illnesses (Depression) come along as you look back with regret at what you have missed. The key is to find ways which stop you avoiding. Avoidance will kill you.

My parents didn't even know I'm depressed, now I'm so far away that is so severe and hoping my parents would notice me. My father just say I'm shy and I didn't get to speak because I'm just scared to tell him I may have anxiety. I am hoping they would understand me.

Trust me you're not alone! 5% of the population have social anxiety. Some have serious symptoms and others are milder.
I'm not sure if I have it but i find it hard to explane something or talk more than a sentence with people. I stutter and struggle with finding words and while i do that in my head, i feel like a freak and amazed that i have friends. and also how srupid they think i am when i speak.
I'm the listener, and that's not by choice.
