Let me show you the most beautiful gem in the world in 480p. Either way, thanks for sharing
I want a be an opal miner and this video really helped me learn a lot about the opal formation and what levels to look for it in. Thank you guys for making this video happen
Thanks for your video. I am a novice trying to buy and polish opals. They are beautiful finished. The mining is very dangerous. Educational videos like this are brilliant. Thank you。 greetings from Dublin Ireland
Really interesting vid.
Was great seeing where the opals come from and the way they form in certain rocks.
Had no idea what an opal mine looked like until today.
Great vid :)
Thank you very much for the video. Yours has been very educational when did to a lot of detail which most people do not. And a lot of it was Hands-On from start to finish. Can't wait till the next video
Bloody rippa of a Docco Mate 🤘😎🤘 well done I love lightning Ridge. Thanks for the memories
Thank you! This was an informative and educational video not often seen regarding opals. I appreciated the info which can only be learned 'first-hand' from actual time on the job.
thanks so much for the cool insights! will visit the ridge this year, looking forward to do some fossicking 😊
Great video mate, good to see Richard and Paul,I have been out with them a few times over the years,😃👍👍👍from Harry Mee up in Cairns.I still have the opal fever.👍
Al didn't give me their names when he gave me the footage to roughly edit, thanks for that I'll update the description. Cheers. ✌🏼🙂
utterly fascinating, thank you
Beautiful pup!
my uncle peter used to mine in lightenging ridge it facinates me he was a proper english yorkshie man 😃
Great program!
Great video💪 way better then the opal hunters series
Thanks Jason for the feedback ✌🏼🙂
Dam I'd love 1 of them diggers but I'll have to stick to the jackhammers till we strike it rich, we could move around 6- 7 tonne by hand a day, don't need no gym ,jackhammer shovel into wheelbarrow, hoist , cool vid mate.
I spit my coffee all over my keyboard at 20:45!
I wanna go !!!
good luck guys
The Red Clay indicates good drainage. Hope that helps :)
Do you ever look at the columns you leave behind to hold up the overburden and wonder if that’s where your big score is hiding?😬
Personally I can't answer that but I'm sure they do....risk v reward ✌🏼🙂
I love opal, but I really wish that the mines would be filled back in after finished.
need some propping m8 you have maximum ball rooming..must be some gd ground..
awesome!
Thats Way Cool
Very, very cool! You made a great informative video. Those miners seem like great men. Can you post the website to their shop? I’d love to check out some of their rough. They really know their stuff.
Sorry no, I don't know if they have a website.... but thanks for the feedback 👍🏼
I agree I want to support them
I've been back and forth since mid 60s
Lived there for 11 years and had reasonable success mining opal but now moved on..
I drop in now and then to visit my friends every few years
And as far as I'm concerned...
Their the real "Gems" not the Opal !
Lighting Ridge gets in yar blood .
All the best to everyone there !
Black opals wow
What blows my mind is they don't pin the roof...no mesh no roof bolts noting
Australian man narrator of the mine tour must be a very very good worker because his English accent is very very thick.
Lighting strikes millions of years ago makes the pebbles shoot down from the top
At my mine at the Ridge ive only gotta pull 1 , 2 gallon bucket to pay my monthly bills !
Filling trucks ?....yar in the wrong place mate !
I'd like to come there to work. Then get my own claim.
Are there other semi-precious stones that you find with the opal too ?
sorry mate I'm not sure..
How do you keep the ceiling from caving in?
I think the pillars that are left help but maybe someone viewing who's more knowledgeable can answer that question. 🙂
What is the name of their mine? What area of lightning ridge are they in? I understand we don't know if they have a website but I'd love to do the research myself just need a little help
Sorry I don't have any info.
I know the miners get underground through a hole or shaft but how the hell do they get that big ass machinery underground
I'm not completely sure but I think they disassemble it take it down in pieces then reassemble.
Does anyone there know Carl Babic????
poppula demand thats a new one
haha, yeah we had a bit of fun with that and decided to keep it in. thanks for the feedback ✌🏼🙂
I hope Richard N Paul have Facebook or Instagram page ?????
Luv to visit them
Hardly see anything.
Thanks for your feedback 🙂
I love opal I love watching the process but don't leave me hanging I promise you I will not watch your channel again if I can't see what you're pointing out I truly feel opal has one of the best phones in the world but I want to see what you're talkin about
The opal might give you a call, does it have your number? Thanks for the feedback 😀😀
Yeah, millions of billions and Billions years ago. Took that long to form. I was a baby then. Couldn’t of happened over thousands of years. No, billions.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say 🤷🏼♂️....... but thanks for the feedback.
I was being a smart ass. Love deep creek. UNO’s bar on the water.
ever worry about cave ins?
pity the quality was so bad i turned it off 1980 had better quality or was it
Not exactly sure what you mean, but thanks for the feedback ✌🏼🙃
Put some more light on it so we can see what you're talkin we cannot see what you're pointing at so why should I bother watching your video
Hahaha... thanks for the feedback and the laughs 😀
