Rakshas laying claim to Griffith’s head while he’s still using the damn thing was a big turning point for me, love this sheetboy
This is one of my favorite apostles ever. And actually is one of my top five favorite characters in the entire series. I'm so glad that you did a video on him. Because he is a very cool and interesting character. Especially with his goals. Cuz unlike most apostles he doesn't follow the god hand. He actually wants to kill Griffith. Which is a pretty cool and neat thing

I don't think he has much motive behind wanting to kill Griffith beyond proving that he can. We know he took joy in killing and that's why he was exiled, and to him, killing a target like Griffith, especially after announcing your intent to do so would make him the world's greatest killer, so he wants to prove to everyone including himself that that's what he is.
Maybe he just wants to kill "heroes" more like "human-angels" because Rakshasa himself is a demon with a mask, so what does devils do ? Harm angels ( I know that Femto is a complete opposite from an angel, but his reincarnation makes him one, at least for the people and monsters in Falconia )
Definitely one of my favorite apostles, he strikes me as a sort of jester character, where he is looking for excitement and/or drama
"like finding a needle in a haystack when the needle moves wherever it wants" so do it like rickert, blow up the haystack and you will find the needle. I would also say that a net he could not cut, like lets say, chainmail would be effectiv. Other methods would be fire, especially oil and hot wax as it will stick to him and keep burning. Smoke might also be effective, if he still needs to breathe it could help with controlling him.

The Fight between Silat and Rakshas is one of my all time favorite, it just feel different from most of the other fights

Raksas is such a unique villain. As soon as I saw him, he went up to the top of my favourite villain designs in any media. Alongside Sauron and many others he’s one of those characters that you know is going to be big coming on, Kind of like Grundbeld when he came onto the scene. I just hope Raksas didn’t die from that explosion.

Nice to see Rakshas getting some love. This made me want a video on Rickert and his inventions though. Could be a good entry for the weapons/armor manual series.
I feel like he was still a human until some time after joining Griffith. Early on he is drawn with more of a body base, often upsidedown. And with more "human" movements, shapes, and actions. Than later he is drawn more fluid and formless. With more odd/less rigid shapes as the base.

I would've loved to see a prospective future arc when Griffith is on the backfoot due to some circumstance (possibly due to an invasion form Guts' friends and other allied forces) and that give Rakshas an opportunity to turn on his "master". Could you imagine if Zodd stepped in in defence of the Hawk or something like that?

I managed to buy the Rakshas ring from the berserk expo in Japan, is one of my favs (btw, the japanese make really little rings. Had to buy the biggest one and it just fits my pinkie)

Cool video, I love the attitude of Rakshas. My favorite scene with him is when he says he going to take Griffiths head and Griffith makes a big smile. I bet Griffith is thinking "Go ahead bitch and try, I am the only god here".
Maybe we never seen Rakshas human form because he is always in his monster form!

The A at the end of Rakshasa is mute, that's why his name is spelled that way. Basically to make people pronounce correctly from the get go.
Rakshas will always be my favorite. I love when his first mask breaks and he gets so depressed about it that he literally just quits fighting and leaves.
If I was going to be any Beserk character, definitely Rakshas.

Rakshasas used to meditate & please God's in order to seek powers from them viz some demons might meditate for years in order to please Shiva after Shiva's been pleased he would appear infront them where they would be granted whatever they'd wish for by Shiva or the Specific God whom they were trying to please by being in a yogic state like a monk what they would ask for was complete domination & immortality & invincibility

I think Raksas in his former human life he was probably the best assassin around but his cocky and overconfident attitude got him kicked out of the clan, I think for the sacrifice that he did was probably someone who made the masks he wears giving them sentimental value and that might be the reason why he got upset that his mask broke

It's a bit of a stretch but considering Apostles have traits and powers based on different animals (Apes for Wyald, Insects for Rosaline etc.) Rakshas could be an amoeba.
I think theres also apostles who can be based on mythical creatures
Like zodd as a manticore
Grunbeld as a dragon
Theoretically there could be an apostle based on the sea god, maybe trolls and ogres too

He is my favorite of them all🖤
My best guess for who he was in his human was he was like a more brutal scary version of silat, a very prideful and brutal hunter so much that his own team was scared of him. He was too monsterous and bloody so for punishment to him and his group they burned his face and exiled him. To everyone this looked like a good thing but to rakshas it was a deep betray so he used the behlat for both revenge and to be the greatest stealth hunter.
The design and lote of pretty much all of the Apostes and Psedo (yes, even Snake Lord and Wylde) are amazing imo.
The only issue is that it takes away form their mistique when they are introduced outside of Guts' perspective.
The exact case is with this one. And if I remember correctly, I dont think the two even shared a single scene together.
We never got to see how Guts wouldve approcahed this one and I think Guts fighting the aposotles was one of the key elements of Berserk.

The reason you don't see any other Kushan apostles is probably because Ganishka and Daiba captured and sew them into a man-made behelith. And I don't assume Ganishka wanted any other apostle there apart from himself.

I really like Rakshas i don't know if its just me but I can't help but feel like he would make a good boss in Majoras Mask if he wasn't a character in Berserk if that makes sense??

Loved it that you covered his encounter with Rickert & Silat. Both of them did damage him! And then Rakshas being present during Ganishka conclusion was epic too. I think Zodd knows he was there. I think he's planning something with Zodd. I've had this weird feeling that Zodd is going to betray Femto in the end, that beast is meant to fight alongside Guts & SK. Also the Rakshas could form an alliance with Rickert, Silat, Old man, etc

The kushan empire was a Hindu/Buddhist empire. So it has many inspirations, like Ganishka, Rakshasa, kundlini, pischacha, Shiva etc.
