My favorite song and can you believe this came out over forty years ago? I think it still holds up and sounds a lot better than todays music. of course this is from an old guy lol... Love your channel and I subscribed!!!
Billy is an 80's Icon and when this Video was Released in '83 MTV was King. No Internet or UA-cam it was the Television that brought You Visual Content. MTV came out in '81 and Everything had to have some Stick or Hook to Compete with All of the Other Hundreds of Crazy Videos. Thus the Weirdness of the Early 80's Videos which were more like Small Plays with a Theme.
Billy had a major setback at the peak of his career, he cracked his melon on a curb when he crashed his bike. It took him years, but he did make a very respectable comeback. Got to check out "Mony Mony"! Will make you wish you were a background singing-keyboardist... LOL.
it isn't meant to be weird. billy idol was on of the first rock stars on mtv back in the day! (his first music video on there was white wedding) The zooming in of his face is so you will listen to him and feel his pain. the lyrics are clear what happened to him regarding a woman he had been with. it's not meant to be weird, it was the 80's. the song is still quite famous.
Awesome classic song, one of the best of te '80 and, among other heavier '80 songs (Queen, Killing Joke, Pink Floyd etc.) moved my music taste into metal...
It's better to listen to the song and not even watch the video. The video will tell you something different than your ears will tell you if you just listen you won't understand the video anyway because you don't understand how this song was written. The song is a juxtaposition some obscure horror film and it's like he's reading that story while he's in a tour bus thinking about his woman at home. To understand how the song is really two stories in one
Women wanted him, Men wanted to be him. This brings back good times and happy thoughts. great reaction and stay safe.
The 80s were the Bomb ..Straight
Eyes Without A Face = TV camera.
PS: I remember when this song was on the Radio,...ALL THE TIME.

You need to check out Rebel Yell. That was released before this song from the same album name. Then you will understand his vibe? Lol

Weird but GOOD!
Dancing With myself, another good one
if i recall correctly, the smirk is when he's thinking of someone he loves and hates at the same time
It has to be probably Billy's most iconic song ❤️ I like everything about it.. and a mention for Steve Stevens phenomenal on electric guitar 🎸...m

Rebel Yell
I'm almost certain that Eyes Without a Face is a French novel. A movie exists.
Pretty smile.
Look for his Rolling Stone cover picture. 1985.
You can thank me later.
Hello Lucie; react to Deep Purple "Child in time" live (1970).
Flesh For Fantasy is as good if not better than even this one, and that's saying a lot. You may want to react to that one. Trust me!
