Accidents during filming of movies. People killed by faulty props or pieces of scenery, stunmen dying while doing stunts, etc. That or somehow movie characters manifest themselves in the afterlife as well, as since movies, especially of the lower sort, tend to be bloody, movie characters appear to haunt in Purgatory as well.
@@mascarponecheeze1308 ah yes, of course also I think the cardboard cutout monsters can be a play on words with how moviemakers were "putting their hearts" into their work, as these living props have actual beating hearts on their backs
@@blueshit199 I also think that the Stage Monsters might be the real people (in this case actors and actresses) trapped inside the bodies of Stage Monsters with their actual hearts in their backs that gives them the "ability to move". Like I say, every level in Painkiller series has it's own reason why it's there just like the monsters - no matter how weird they are. I really want to see the final levels from Redemption and Recurring Evil (especially Highway To Hell and Old Graveyard).
@@mascarponecheeze1308 me too! the idea about actors is interesting, kind of reminds me of the lore behind FNAF animatronics (although my knowledge of FNAF lore is limited, never played the games)

Don't forget the maintenance workers as well - the Electricians for example - their eyes have melted out and their entire body is emiting electricity.

@@blueshit199 Oh! That's pretty interesting
I always hated the Electricians in this level. They could kill youn within a few seconds on higher difficulties.
