G'day Kevin, I bet Teddy is happy you are home, hope you are doing well emotionally, you definitely look healthier in this video, seems the Holiday was really what you needed, I'll be looking forward to more content soon, Wishing You & Teddy Happiness & Health 😁
Thanx for the very informative video! Me and a friend are flying into HCMC 8th of January, thought I'd miss all the holidays......,but totally forgot about Tet, which is right in the middle of our 30 day trip to Hanoi via The Ho Chi Minh Trail. I've read Tet is a bad time to visit Vietnam. I don't care about anything touristy. I'm only worried about being able to find guest houses/home-stays or cheap hotels and being able to get gas. Do any other packers/bikers or Vietnamese have any idea how much of a problem that will be during Tet? Thanx!!!
plot267 I took gloves and helmet with me. The absolute life saver is those arm sun protectors (like ladies tights). Between my gloves and my jacket my wrist was sun burnt like someone had held a blow torch.
@@wildthinair oh man that's mad, might get some bike armour whilst I'm out there. Do you know anything about the insurance situation out there with bikes? Got a motorcycle licence but my visa won't allow me to register a bike so not sure what would happen of I needed to make a claim..
It took me 3 weeks and I think that is a good amount of time, 4 weeks is better if you want to go to more places or stay in different places for longer.
I tried to ride and take a video at the same time but it was just a bit dodgy with my phone (I didn't want to drop it). I did get some footage as I showed at 6:24 when I was on the back of a bike as that way I could film much more easily.

I did Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City in August 2019. The biggest problem by far was my arse was destroyed on the seat.

Good to have you back.
Very informative and helpful. Thank you very much for making the video.🙏🏻
Just wondering if you think this would be a good bike for two people
This is definitely on my list ever since I saw the top gear special way back when.
Hi..how much did you pay for the rent bike? where di you rent it in Hanoi? i want to do the road Hanoi Saigon in 1 month
May I ask - how long did you plan and get down from Hanoi to Saigon?
80km/h in hai van pass, that how 30 people die per year there :)
Pretty hard to maintain an average speed like that there hahaha but it is pretty damn awesome!
with 80km/h we will loss the control so 60 to 65km/h is good and safe

Hey, going to Vietnam and was wondering if I should buy bike gear like gloves and waterproof overalls here or there?

Hey, thanks for the advice. How long did the trip take you? What's the shortest time it would take you to do north to south? Thanks again

@@TechShowdown thanks for your reply! Haha we are aiming for 12 days 🙈 i guess we will just have less time to enjoy each city 🥴
@@carlhewlett how did 12 days go!? That’s some LONG days on the bike!
Don't die would be my advice and never stray off the beaten path...
Andrew Spencer you ginxed it
My first wife grew up in Saigon, long story
Why do you need to change the oil every 1000k's!?
