I think this was one of your best reviews in that it pointed to a brighter future. You've worked through your personal issues, kept your home, will not have to dismantle your layout, completed many behind the scenes projects and have Chessie to help him keep things on schedule. Just maybe I'll be able to visit you sometime during your open house when I'm in the Atlanta area. God bless
AWESOME episode Eric, it's always great to get a video from you bro, especially the layout updates! Hope to make it to the open house! Thanks and have a great one! P.S. I am super happy that you didn't have to tear up your beautiful layout!
awesome tour! You say you're no carpenter, but you built everything yourself! awesome job! Love the reviews and the layout, wish I could make it for the open house.
Eric, that's a lot of work you have done. As always a motivation for me to get some stuff done.Glad you will not have to dismantle the layout. I am going to try and come see the layout again. I too will be on the Pilgrimage.
AWESOME Dude... I miss your vids... went through a rough patch a year ago and discovered modeling here on UA-cam, your videos really helped me to get by. There was a lot of content so I was playing catch up... 😊Your L.O. tours became a standard for me (LOL) I like the way you get to it... love the rec. room / museum like... Thank you for_________>.
Hay man i love ur videos I've been seeing them for the past year and they are great and i like how u descibe some of the history and the localmotives and also great layout u have😀
One thing for sure there is absolutely no child in this world that has a better feeling for the trains in the layout than you do you are absolutely like a child when it comes to your layout and this is perfect
Great video Eric, keep up the great videos.. Even though I am getting back to HO scale, a lot of what you do with your layout and videos can be used in any scale..
You're an interesting fellow, Eric. Love your videos and getting some behind the scenes tours of your workshop, office and train tables as well as the train reviews. Does your wife ever ask you if you have enough trains lol? I sometimes wonder if you will ever get bored of the hobby and hope you dont. Your train videos are some of the best on youtube!
The microwave tower is actually based on a real life microwave repeater. There doesn't need to be any power because it's two dishes connected back to back. For a path that has enough signal strength but is blocked, the repeater could provide coverage, like shooting up a canyon or into a valley. Maybe to carry phone and cable TV.
Hey Eric, I was wondering where you got your railroad themed skirting for your layout. Im wanting to do the same for mine, but I cant find that style of skirting. (P.S. At 11:46, I have the exact photo the Lionel Trains picture of the F7.)
Great video Eric. I saw your cat watching trains in another video. For additions of Chessie System equipment, would the Chessie Steam Special be a later addition
Okay I can tell nobody has made this joke yet so "Here in my garage..." Just kidding. Love your videos so far Eric! Congratulations on your son working on his scholarship. Looking forward to the rest of the videos!
I was wondering if you could please make a Santa Fe WW2 troop and supply train with 3751, my favorite steam locomotive on your layout, or for Halloween if you could make a "ghost train" in O-scale with one of your steam locomotives.
Eric...some time ago, you had a O scale flatbed orange Schneider tractor trailer you said you were going to review. Have you reviewed it yet? I'm curious to know. Ed from Philadelphia
What happened. Use to be two a week now one every two months. Eric let’s go get a roll on this. Do more travel ones to the train store and show. Let’s just go o e o. O e o e o we’re going to have a good time by the sea let’s go!!
Just a suggestion, as I know how busy you are, but for your next running action video could you throw in some night shots? I would love to see what the layout looks like in the dark. Thanks!
AW...so cute! I'd give chessie a hug if I could LOL! My cats name is star, but I nick named here pennsy cuz she's got maroonish brown fur and in some spots, it's even got a green hue!
Chessie is adorable. Does your cat walk on the layout? I have six cats. What construction tips can you give to cat proof scenery buildings and accessories?
Very cool episode! I noticed one thing though, when you were showing chessie, I noticed a right handed Strat in the background, I thought you were left handed?
Union Pacific 833 A few ways. I use an air duster can and a brush to immediately remove dust from the trains. I have an air purifier that helps cut down on the dust. I vacuum the entire layout a couple times a year.
Erik, how come you don't acquire any Sunset 3rd rail engine? they are the most prototypical you can find in o gauge. Their F7's easily surpass atlas', and their drive is superior
My mom would love your cat. She's a big fan of the sleeping kitten logo for the Chessie System.
Toby Pasman thanks
@@Ericstrains I love cats and trains
I am so relieved you're not having to dismantle the layout. I love your videos and they have given me ideas for my own layout.
Great vid, Eric. Glad that layout is staying where it belongs. Love your cat. Every model railroader MUST own at least one cat. Very cute!
TrainTrackTrav i own 6
Great video Eric. Progress, no matter how small it seems, is always a good thing! Enjoying time with the family, priceless! Enjoy!

Hey Eric.Great first video.Glad to see you had some spare time to make a video.Always love seeing your videos.
A layout room is not complete until there is a cat in it!
I guess my layout room will nevr be complete because there will be no cats or dogs and I have 2 dogs and 1 cat.
Actually it’s not complete till you make a stinky fat fart and smell up the whole room
I’ve got 3 cats and 2 layouts, one o scale and one ho and both have been visited by either 1, or all 3 of my family’s cats

Aww dang it, i have a church camp that whole weekend. it will be super fun, but if i left, it would be for my baseball game.
I really want to give that cat a hug!
I noticed you doubled up on a couple of videos in your Product Review playlist...looks like the GP9 Southern and Greenbrier locomotives.
awesome video.
Hey Eric, I was wondering where you got your railroad themed skirting for your layout. Im wanting to do the same for mine, but I cant find that style of skirting. (P.S. At 11:46, I have the exact photo the Lionel Trains picture of the F7.)
Great video as usual, been waiting and looking forward to your video on the transformers. As always keep them coming Eric.
Hey Eric, I've been waiting for the "how to" video on doing your asphalt roads. Any plans on doing it soon?
Great job Eric. Love your videos. What do you do to keep the dust off your open shelf displays?
You should check out the Lionel 2-6-0 Mogul Steam Locomotive "Central Vermont". Its one of the finest O gauge locos ive seen.
Was watching the Atlas F7 review when the notification popped up lol
great video, glad to see you back at it,I always love watching your video's, thank you and say hi to chesse......
Great video Eric. I saw your cat watching trains in another video. For additions of Chessie System equipment, would the Chessie Steam Special be a later addition
railroadguy100 indeed
Eric, what do you just use plain wood for a scenery base? Or do you put foam down?
Great video! Will you review the Lionel Nickel Plate Road 587?
Great video; I know you are a superb modeler, but adding the cat put you over the top in class!
My thoughts exactly :-)
It's looking great Eric! I Love Russian blues!
Okay I can tell nobody has made this joke yet so "Here in my garage..." Just kidding. Love your videos so far Eric! Congratulations on your son working on his scholarship. Looking forward to the rest of the videos!
Eric, is that a Cat door on the train room door? Love your cat Chessie. Mine's all grey. We call him Grey.🐺
Cute kitty! ^^
Perfect name, btw. ;)
Hey, Eric That I'm deaf anyway I had look find CC on it but those video didn't have it, and I had question, How you do setup on Lionel Legacy set?
nice video!
Sucks I don’t live in your area
I’d love to see your layout at that pilgrimage
I was wondering if you could please make a Santa Fe WW2 troop and supply train with 3751, my favorite steam locomotive on your layout, or for Halloween if you could make a "ghost train" in O-scale with one of your steam locomotives.
I love your layout,Will you buy the Pere marquette 1225?
Raposa Games I'd be a happy camper. I got to see Pere Marquette 1225 twice.
Raposa Games perhaps one day
Eric...some time ago, you had a O scale flatbed orange Schneider tractor trailer you said you were going to review. Have you reviewed it yet? I'm curious to know. Ed from Philadelphia

I know i may sound dumb gut i never heard of one before.
I like that rotary phone
Just a suggestion, as I know how busy you are, but for your next running action video could you throw in some night shots? I would love to see what the layout looks like in the dark. Thanks!
Aww...how cute and fuzzy.
Cute cat
Hey eric, you should make a video of your zippo collection someday! I also collect zippo lighters so a video on yours would entertain me lol
AW...so cute! I'd give chessie a hug if I could LOL! My cats name is star, but I nick named here pennsy cuz she's got maroonish brown fur and in some spots, it's even got a green hue!
How’s suppose you do 10 wheelers like the ones from the 1800s from MTH
How did you get the brass hybrid?
Daniel Sigmund from Lionel
ericstrains oh mine hasn't come yet.
Your open house makes me wish I was not in Canada and working that day
Love the video Eric, Also by any chance are you going to York this year?
Guy Frick yes I am
Ok great hope to see you there
His outlet thing in his garage thought it was a Santa Fe passenger warbonet lol
Chessie is adorable. Does your cat walk on the layout? I have six cats. What construction tips can you give to cat proof scenery buildings and accessories?
Thomas Griffin I don’t typically allow my cats in the layout room. That’s how I cat-proof it. :)
congratulations about your son
Beautiful Kitty !!!
This is chessie, this cat is quite prototypical to the real thing. BFIMO a very realistic purring function.
And a very well applied paint scheme.
Hey Eric quick question, is there any chance that you will do another lionchief plus or lioncheif review? Keep up the good work!
JawsCraft101 yes, very soon in fact
Eric you should get the mth premier Southern 4501.
you should make a discord server for model railroading and diff sections for diff company's (for model ones of course). oh and new live episode.
Luke Rennells this deserves way more likes
Eric is that a Fender Strat in the corner in the shot with your cat?
13:55
I was about to ask: “why don’t you add sidings to place cars on?” But then I realized that the Dual set engines will derail.
Hey Eric when and where is the open house? I'd love to come
Tyson'sTrains watch the video, you'll find you're answer there
ericstrains thanks!
Very cool episode! I noticed one thing though, when you were showing chessie, I noticed a right handed Strat in the background, I thought you were left handed?
Matt-Trainlover9943 yes, but I learned to play right handed
ericstrains Cool! Wish I could play right handed. I'm a lefty as well.
ericstrains btw, when are the Erics trains buildings scheduled to come in? I ordered one.
Hey Eric I know you get a lot of questions but have you ever considered kitbashing a locomotive or something?
can you can make a live stream on the open house?
Make a review on the Lionel zombie train
Hey Eric! You ever think about getting a GP30?
BluDog35 yes, actually will be getting one
Awesome! Been waiting forever! I want a Southern high hood. Ugly, but I love them!
Awwwww! I love Chessie.
Thats a cute cat
How do you deal with dust?
Union Pacific 833 A few ways. I use an air duster can and a brush to immediately remove dust from the trains. I have an air purifier that helps cut down on the dust. I vacuum the entire layout a couple times a year.
Dust is good. Makes it look realistic and used.
11:21 you can just tell them to make it in the shape of Nevada haha
danthetrainman56 ha right
Eric came in with a train load of lumber
Eric can you do a review on the mth railking FA-2
Steamking 4014 probably not
Hey Eric, have you ever considered getting 7 1/2" gauge train?
No
ericstrains ok thanks. I have moved from Lionel O to that. Great layout
I spotted a box of Cubanos in your office lmao
The backwards Nevada shelf
Erik, how come you don't acquire any Sunset 3rd rail engine? they are the most prototypical you can find in o gauge. Their F7's easily surpass atlas', and their drive is superior
Do you review vintage Lionel trains?
