Is there a way to make a powerful Spellblade Mage that uses mostly Electricity and Ice instead ? Be the Storm ^^. Using Ice to freeze enemies in place and then dealing melee damage?
I've got an insane affliction build. Focus on "vile projectiles/ corrupted ground" auto crits for any enemy with necrosis. Enchantment to apply bleed on ability crits. Companions have "keepsake" with (your critical abilities apply affliction) There so many items in the game that give bonuses for critical "token of true flight" at legendary is broken - critical with projectile add 50% weakpoint damage - chain lightning or my favorite entropy sphere works with this, cause sever havic when u add enchantments and skills to enhance how big they are or how many times it can chain. Companions that return mana or just cause detonation are really good with this build as all of it is surrounded by AOE so your destroying everything. In 1 rotation I have (necrosis, bleeding, chilled -neve keepsake , and shocked) I run tempest. Chain lightning. Corrupted ground. U can play with gear to switch it around. - death mask is really good though mourn watch helmet Maybe upend dagger skill with high resistance gear like magistrate end and storm charger for 80%+ lightning damage. Maybe evoker skill tree with veilseeker staff (my current at legendary) fires 4 additional bolts on final attacks lowering resistance to everything with withering charges. Anyway. It's different than any other builds I've seen so far and I'm enjoying it on underdog difficulty.
here's all the locations of Mages Gambit. 1 shadow dragons shop lvl 4 or black emporium, 2 Wetlands Gaspin Manor behind a blue locked door will go there in the An Acedemic Interest quest, 3 lighthouse wisp puzzle, 4 Taash companion quest Fangscorcher
If you want the most broken mage build take the staff making your abilities cost hp instead of mana, taash with a -10% cooldown enchantment and the veilguard upgrade that grants her -20% cooldown for her attacks (Qunari choice at the end of her personal story) and Harding with the veilguard upgrade that grants +15% damage and -20% cooldown to your team. Taash will give you permanent invulnerability and immovable. While you are invulnerable, your spells won't cost HP or mana so you can spam them all the time. Immovable will make arcane trait and meteor crit all the time. Use the ring making you take +200% damage and deal +200% damage as you are permanently invulnerable. As armour i'm using the one giving you +10% damage for each advantage on you the helmet giving you +60% crit damage based on shadow dragons rank. I'm also using the dagger giving you +100% damage but +50 mana cost as your spells don't cost mana. I'm also using the orb giving you +25% damage vs chilled ennemies. In the end, ice blast (it crits against bleeding ennemies) and meteor deal 9999 damage (damage cap) and arcane trait deals 6*2000=12000 damage while being permanently invulnerable and having no mana cost so you can spam your spell indefinitely. I don't think there's a way to be more OP. Before you get veilguard upgrades, use Davrin and Taash so their invulnerability skills circle.
@@twlee88 Staff: The Bargain, Orb: Wintersbreath, Dagger: Enchanted Athame. Helm: Deathblow Vitaar, Armor: Garb of Kinship, Amulet: All-Mother's Copse (but you can use something else if you like), Ring 1: The Last Resort, Ring 2: Unburnable Band, Belt: Reinforced Binding or Twin Buckle Binding and Rune: Overflow
You get the last resort after finishing the quest heart of corruption. I was wrong about the helm, it's called Defiant Silence and 1 part is sold by the merchant in dock town.
Use the mana regen on ability crit amulet instead, tempest knocks down pretty much everything and there is a talent that gives you crit on knocked down targets. Gives you more mana regen than tempest costs over the duration so can have 100% even against 1 target. The more targets the more mana regen so against a few you can liberally spam void blade as well. And since tempest hits also set arcane bomb on targets you never actually need to use light attacks, you just spam heavy and each attack will detonate a bomb. But the absolute best setup is with the freeze on arcane bomb detonation, will freeze everything in the game forever making enemies just target dummies. But it's super cheese. The nightmare build i had in the end was the dagger that heals on arcane bomb detonations, but makes detonating them cost mana(but having 0 mana doesn't prevent detonations just keeps you at 0 mana) coupled with the staff that makes spell cost health instead of mana making the dagger mana downside meaningless, you can literally spam void blade like every second both doing great damage and giving you i-frames to avoid pretty much all damage.
To save everyone some time: The dagger that heals on arcane bomb is called 'Timeworn Mageknife'. I was using this for ages before I switched it out but can't remember the places I got it. It's pretty common so just explore thoroughly and you should get it in a chest at some point. The unique spellblade that freezes on arcane bomb is called 'Coral Tip'. You get it by progressing Taash's quest line. The medallion that grants mana on critical hits with strike ability is 'Crow's Perch'. You can get it from the Black Emporium . The staff that makes spells cost health rather than mana is called 'The Bargain' and can be purchased from the merchant at the Necropolis.
You could simply just use The Bargin which removes mana from the entire equation and converts HP. You heal it back using either Kinship armor or Rsearch Coat. This also combos with Light of Starkhaven amulet because your mana is reduced back to 100, meaning no matter where its at, you get 25% weapon damage.
Thank you so much I started the game as a Shadow Dragon Mage I've always loved electrical and fire damage. But I have been second guessing myself the entire time but thanks to you and this video I'm so freaking happy now. Lol.
Yeah, I started as a Shadow Dragon, but restarted as a Mourn Watch for +1 to both burning and shocked. I realized that it's easier to get Mana back than to get extra max stacks, but I'd say those are the 2 best factions for Spellblade.
I feel like the crow rogue would be great allow necrosis and bleed basically allowing for like every affliction to stack for defrade passive. heal giving you shocking weapon
All of the builds in this game are crazy strong & I love that. Too often devs seem to be afraid to let players feel powerful. There is no reason for this ESPECIALLY in a single player game. So glad this isn't the case in this game.
Also, forgot that orbs do a crazy amount of stagger damage. You can make your arcane bombs explode & do AOE damage spreading massive stagger to many enemies. If you take this approach you lose a bit of damage but gain the ability to stop enemies in their tracks. It's a tradeoff that I found perfect & didn't require a warrior to taunt.

MAGA Make America Godly Again...
I play on PC using KB/Mouse. To create the arcane bombs it says use an up arrow and a left click. What does the up arrow mean? Is it a long press? A short press? Use the shift key? I don't know and the combat is so fast it's difficult to figure out.
People are playing this woke garbage? Lol

@seb3661 this game is garbage. Don't need to be a bot to acknowledge that lol.
Go wear a maga hat while being unemployed and blaming it on natives whose land your ancestors stole and killed.
