Coombe Junction Halt according to Wikipedia "With 26 passenger entries and exits between April 2014 and March 2015, it is the second-least used station in Great Britain". I propose we get 27 people and all go down and all catch the train there together.
Just THE best day so far. Quaint stations. History re-enactment. ..of subtle accuracy. loads of lovely stations... This is so awesome.. I'm off to travel that line...its too gorgeous. ...and you call this work ? Magical.
You just crack me up, you're just fab ! " still have time to eat my banana before I defeat you". You must print a book - All the Stations "Great one-liners".
Behind my house is a bike path that used to be a railway in the 1960s. My house is where the platforms used to be. If you go west from my house you can find an old buffer and if you go east to the next old station, they still kept the station signs pre network rail era, some white picket fencing, and even some old style level crossings.
Since nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition, the Spanish Armada would be even less expected. I found you late, finally decided to start with Day 1 and work my way through.
But if you ask Stephen Fry, Lord of Quite Interesting, people would expect the Spanish Inquisition as they had to give 30 days' notice to allow you to prepare your defence.
Charming and interesting. I am modeling something reminiscent of Dawlish on my model railway and it was fabulous to get a look under. It will help when I build that portion. Cool video you two. Rob
That bit of railway from Dawlish to Teignmouth is incredible! A couple of years ago we stayed in a house on the cliff above the railway line in Dawlish - stunning!
This series is so much fun.... Vicky looks so happy :-) I will be very disappointed if this series does not end with an epic proposal and possible a wedding on a train :-)
Great to see my home area. Live a few hundred yards from the line in Newton Abbot, Grew up in Dawlish (cross country runs along the sea wall, born in Starcross, just across the road from the station!
I think the Liskeard station / Looe Branch is one of the prettiest stations you have covered. It is a movie set for sure. Totally enjoyable vid today, one of the best ever. I could live in that house at the end , easily
Great start to the trip Guys! Glad the weather (mostly) held up for you in Cornwall and nice to see Geoff chilled when you missed a connection (don't forget your delay/repay) :)
I love the riviera line, I remember always doing to Dawlish Warren and Dawlish on holidays, seeing as I'm from basildon it's so different and beautiful
Just discovered your channel. Amazing. Love the style. Two things: is UA-cam your day job? Secondly Vicky is a delight. You are a lucky man whatever you do don’t let her go. I’m on day 3 of All The Stations. Loving it. Looking forward to the day you reach Brookwood!
Quick Dawlish sea wall update, there is now a new sew wall in place of the old one which is make of concrete. The wall is curved at the top so the waves can't go on the train tracks
Liskeard is the Wild West (of England). Worked there for a year, and was told "You're lucky you go home to Exeter each weekend". You should see Liskeard at the weekend - Dodge City (Cornish style; the problem is it's a small town where they're all related)
Used to commute on this line every day. In a big storm you have to make sure the windows are closed as the waves are so tall they crash right over the train. You can tell who are tourists, as they leave the windows open and get soaked with gritty seawater! Well, I thought it was funny at the time...
Hmm, statues! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do at Chesterfield. But the banana scene was great! XD Huh! The sea has almost as much energy as you two! :D
I've been on a couple of SWT 158s - I agree, nice trains, but I've heard they're not the most reliable DMUs. Tbh it seems like the most important variable in a passenger's experience of any train is how comfy the seats are :p
I can attest for the reliability issues, what normally would be a 4 car service made up of two 158's was down to two cars today, from Birmingham International to Aberystwyth and Pwhelli, due to an issue with coupling the two, from what I heard. God knows what happened in Wales, as the two units usually split.
Until it closed a few years ago there used to be a fantastic miniature railway at Dobwalls Theme Park near Liskeard. The lines and trains were based on the US Rio Grande and Union Pacific railroads. You can check out what the miniature railways looked like by searching Dobwalls theme park on UA-cam.
In my opinion 13 minutes is way too short to cover this much track and this many points of interest. The Looe branch line, the Riviera Line to Paignton and the mainline between Teignmouth and Starcross, along the coastal wall, could each be 13 minutes on their own.
There is a place just north of the Golden Gate Bridge on the California coast called Drake’s Bay, named after Sir Francis Drake’s landing there in 1579.
Hang on... Did that say 'Class 158' on the DMI? There are no 1-car 158s! You really should've done some more on the Tamar Valley Line. I love that route! Oh, has anyone noticed 'Newton Abbort' in the description?
These are great, but it would be even better if there were some graphics in the video indicating where you are, and which stations you are actually hitting.
The tamar bridge represents the last time National Rail invested in the GWR properly, as if National Rail really wanted to solve the Dawlish problem they'd build a line inland instead and maybe electrify it while they're at it. btw glad you saw my home city Plymouth
That's my homestretch of train I make everyday 😂😍 Newton abbot, torre, starcross and exeter 😂 I go to school in Torquay and live inbetween teignmouth and Newton abbot 😂
But Vicki said in an earlier video that she was hoping that he wasn't drinking a pint in a pub while "on the job." Alcohol would definitely help, but it sounds like they're drinking tea while traveling. But hey, let's face it--despite the long hours and hard work (and nail biting connections), how much fun would it be to see beautiful England via all the stations?
Nice to see the GWR/WR colour scheme and WR signage at Liskeard and Coombe. Definitely a sight better than the depressing purple with grey that we get in Kent.
It's when you see videos like this you realise how old most of the locomotives in Britain still are. It seems a majority of them are still from the British Rail era.
"I am in sole possession of this train" - go Vicki, go!
Coombe Junction Halt according to Wikipedia "With 26 passenger entries and exits between April 2014 and March 2015, it is the second-least used station in Great Britain". I propose we get 27 people and all go down and all catch the train there together.
26 wow! That would be 1 passenger every 2 weeks!
"All The Stations - The Outtakes" is going to be nearly as entertaining as the actual documentary.
We need a new scale of quaintness for Coombe Junction Halt
Melanie Tuffen ...
I agree...
obviously the scale of quaintness...will be measured in unique new units...
called Vicki's
Melanie Tuffen obviously! 🤗👍🏽
Melanie Tuffen On a scale of one to Coombe Junction, how quaint are you?
V Pipe I also propose the scale goes all the way up to 11

Just THE best day so far.
Quaint stations.

loads of lovely stations...
This is so awesome..

Another great one-liner.

Well, the money I put into the Kickstarter is the best money I spent in ages! This is glorious!
Yes i agree!
Whats it got to do with you what they spend their money on.. now get a life and keep you big nose out of other peoples affairs you bellend.
Rob Clay Because I appreciate when people do awesome things, instead of criticizing other people, like certain other persons i could name...
how do you know how much money we have, to know whether we are on the breadline or not, Rob?

No-one expects the Spanish Armada.
Love the train on the poster at 10:22. Discover buses.
This shouldn't be good - but its fascinating! Find myself checking each day for a new episode!
Behind my house is a bike path that used to be a railway in the 1960s. My house is where the platforms used to be. If you go west from my house you can find an old buffer and if you go east to the next old station, they still kept the station signs pre network rail era, some white picket fencing, and even some old style level crossings.
Which line was this? Is there a Wikipedia page you link to please.
But you want the Whitewicks, not Geoff and Vicki. :)
Oh Plymouth! My home town. You've made it look really quite pleasant whereas my memory is suggests quite different facts!
AND historical re-enactments!!!??? WOW it just keeps getting better each day!
As a Spanish I must say that I totally LOVED watching Geoff defend my country hahahah
You guys are adorable. This is so much fun!
Amazing video as always! I'm so grateful that you are doing this incredible journey to show us the interesting parts of Britains railways!
The scenery in this video is glorious. Superb.
Charming and interesting. I am modeling something reminiscent of Dawlish on my model railway and it was fabulous to get a look under. It will help when I build that portion. Cool video you two. Rob
Will is doing such a good job editing these!
u guys bring me so much joy with this All stations it cool
yes another all the stations!
Best episode yet guys these are really interesting to watch keep up the good work, but don't worry about taking days off too no reason you shouldn't!
Wonderful as per usual. Loved living in that part of the country for so long until I moved last year, so it's great to see it again here.
Loving Vicki's history lessons. Keep it up guys!
Excellent video im loving the adventure so far!
Great video. Some really interesting railways too.
Great to see my home area. Live a few hundred yards from the line in Newton Abbot, Grew up in Dawlish (cross country runs along the sea wall, born in Starcross, just across the road from the station!
That station had only 48 people last year lol
lmao
Love that tiny little platform, it's so simple what more do you need?
Apart from Vicki & the train of course.
one of the best, this one..
Great video. You both look a lot more relaxed in this video, keep them coming.
Thank you for a great series. I've seen a handful of the ATS videos already but now doing them properly in order beginning to end!
I think the Liskeard station / Looe Branch is one of the prettiest stations you have covered. It is a movie set for sure. Totally enjoyable vid today, one of the best ever. I could live in that house at the end , easily
Wow. Gorgeous scenery! 😀
Great start to the trip Guys! Glad the weather (mostly) held up for you in Cornwall and nice to see Geoff chilled when you missed a connection (don't forget your delay/repay) :)
So far rather entertaining, thanks guys and gals!
You have had some very good weather to go with the views.
chuckyzzz I'm waiting for when they get to Wales.
Loving Vicki's pathos and understatements. "Oh, don't leave me Geoff!"
"I'm leaving you" - "Okay."
I am properly not the first person to say this but was the manufactures of the Pacer Trains called 'Pace Maker's'.
Well done from NZ so enjoyable thank you
I love the riviera line, I remember always doing to Dawlish Warren and Dawlish on holidays, seeing as I'm from basildon it's so different and beautiful
God bless you Geoff and Vicki
Just discovered your channel. Amazing. Love the style. Two things: is UA-cam your day job? Secondly Vicky is a delight. You are a lucky man whatever you do don’t let her go. I’m on day 3 of All The Stations. Loving it. Looking forward to the day you reach Brookwood!
I did Coombe the other day - really nice place - and inspired by All The Stations.
That is so awesome!!
Quick Dawlish sea wall update, there is now a new sew wall in place of the old one which is make of concrete. The wall is curved at the top so the waves can't go on the train tracks
This is amazing!!!
The loop is fascinating I used to deliver next to the tiny engineering yard!
You guys should write a book! This was fantastic
Liskeard is the Wild West (of England). Worked there for a year, and was told "You're lucky you go home to Exeter each weekend". You should see Liskeard at the weekend - Dodge City (Cornish style; the problem is it's a small town where they're all related)
Great video , i love Cornwall great place to visit .
I think Portillo has some competition.
I just started my own challenge - I'm going to watch every single episode of this fine series :-)
XD
Huh! The sea has almost as much energy as you two! :D
9:11 if u had time at Paignton u should have caught the steam train to Kingswear as Dartmouth is a lovely place!
Worth it for the ending alone.
Coombe junction halt, brilliant station.
Great video
1:42 Why does the first train call itself a 'Class 158' on the dot matrix display... an insecure sprinter? XD
I thought it said that too - 153 with an identity crisis.
Somewhat related, I got on a 158 for the first ever time today. Way nicer than the 170 on the return, that's for sure.
I've been on a couple of SWT 158s - I agree, nice trains, but I've heard they're not the most reliable DMUs. Tbh it seems like the most important variable in a passenger's experience of any train is how comfy the seats are :p
Iwan Wrigley SWT don't have 158s - they have 159s =)
I can attest for the reliability issues, what normally would be a 4 car service made up of two 158's was down to two cars today, from Birmingham International to Aberystwyth and Pwhelli, due to an issue with coupling the two, from what I heard. God knows what happened in Wales, as the two units usually split.
The Tarka line from / to Barnstaple is such a great line.
My uncle lives next to the Tamar bridge, you get a great view of the railway line and bridge from his house
Loving the videos :)
Seriously guys, have a break! Love the videos, but don't make yourself sick by not having any time off.
Vickey loves history.
18 seconds live and I don't hesitate to click
You guys are the best. Can't wait to watch the next video :)
Are those Deathly Hallows earrings?!
Gunnislake is my favourite. And on such a hill! (You ought to do heritage railways now! The Talyllyn!
I think that my standard greeting to people now will be to run up to them and lazily say, "I am the Spanish Armada."
Until it closed a few years ago there used to be a fantastic miniature railway at Dobwalls Theme Park near Liskeard. The lines and trains were based on the US Rio Grande and Union Pacific railroads. It's so weird to see you at my local Paignton, I was literally 5 minutes away and had no idea you where ther
There is a place just north of the Golden Gate Bridge on the California coast called Drake’s Bay, named after Sir Francis Drake’s landing there in 1579.
Today is the 6th of February 2023, and I'm watching the 6th episode of All The Stations ❤
Starcross is my station!! And yes, trains are always late!
I was on the same train as you from paignton to dawlish 😵 how did I not see you, I got on at torre
Hang on... Did that say 'Class 158' on the DMI? There are no 1-car 158s! You really should've done some more on the Tamar Valley Line. I love that route! Oh, has anyone noticed 'Newton Abbort' in the description?
Yes, I've been on the Looe branch and I can confirm that some of the DMI's on the 153's display "Class 158" in error!!
so the theme song has faint words. it's been three ish days and I have figured out it *is* "all the stations all of them". I thought I was mad.
These are great, but it would be even better if there were some graphics in the video indicating where you are, and which stations you are actually hitting.
there's a map on our website at www.allthestations.co.uk
Can’t wait to get out on the trains again, as lockdown eases 🙏🏻
I think there doing all the stations !!!!
Awesome video! I despise the Dogbox, but nice scenrey though.
The tamar bridge represents the last time National Rail invested in the GWR properly, as if National Rail really wanted to solve the Dawlish problem they'd build a line inland instead and maybe electrify it while they're at it. btw glad you saw my home city Plymouth
You would have thought they'd hold the station up with something more durable to the element than wood in Dawlish!
Classic Jeopardy Intro. Well done !
Anyone notice that the first train they went on said on the information display in the carriage 'Class 158' when actually it was a Class 153!
ATWF Studio's I noticed that also
I went there last week for my holiday
That's my homestretch of train I make everyday 😂😍 Newton abbot, torre, starcross and exeter 😂 I go to school in Torquay and live inbetween teignmouth and Newton abbot 😂
I think I'd have a nervous breakdown with all those tight, five minute connections.
RoulinBrooks i did a similar challenge near where I live and I had 2 min connections
I once had to make an 8 min connection once at a station I've never been to and I still had to purchase a ticket for my train.
Nice to see the GWR/WR colour scheme and WR signage at Liskeard and Coombe. Definitely a sight better than the depressing purple with grey that we get in Kent.
Lovely series! After each station could you please put the number so we know how many stations you've visited? Thanks
there's a map on the website at www.allthestations.co.uk
Great! Thank you
brilliant!
I went on holiday to Paignton.
It's when you see videos like this you realise how old most of the locomotives in Britain still are. It seems a majority of them are still from the British Rail era.
I had the pleasure back in 1988 of seeing 'Sir Francis Drake' being given a parking ticket in Plymouth. :-)
Chapelton - least used station in Devon. Half expected the "Whats that music, Geoff?" music to start. Also there is nothing there.
