  • 436 - Grandpa’s Still (5/3/23 Schuller) I had written a note while at Brad’s “Grandpa’s Still” and thought of that as I sat down one morning to play guitar. I played a couple chords and the lyrics just flowed out of me. Once they were all on paper, I figured out a melody and recorded the initial version of the song. It was not what I had planned for the day, but sometimes things just happen. I played the rough first recording for Deb and she actually liked it enough to wonder how to send it to her uncle. She also had a suggestion for the last line of the song, so I changed it from “he couldn’t read or write” to “I hope we got this story right”

Thanks! It's the story of Deb's grandpa on her mother's side as handed down. Played a lot of jaw harp back when I was in Williams. Was pretty good back then. Rattles my teeth too much now, so must have lost my technique😮

Finally got this one listened to. Ha,ha,ha….funny story. Didn’t you say this was inspired by one of Deb’s relatives? Didn’t know you played Jaw Harp. You play that thing good, son!
