This shows the power of inverted chords and additional notes added to the chord such as D2, DM7 etc. Include some connecting melodic lines and you’ve got a great composition. I find “simple” music to be the most moving at times. Great video, Nathan!

When I was younger me and my guitar friends used to joke: "oh, this song uses only two chords" or "this guy can play only two chords". And what I like about you and your playing is how you completely crush this musical paradigm. Thank you! Thank you for your passion for music! It is infectious(I bought Take on Me, last of us 2 emotional version tabs and learning it. I have so much happiness in my life simply from practicing guitar, the song that I like.) Well done. Picking the I and V (or IV) gives you all the notes of the key. You clearly know how to take it from there. Super clean playing and a great recording doesn’t hurt either. Thanks for sharing.
In C major, notes are c d e f g a b. Chord "I" = ceg. "IV" = cfa. This leaves out notes d & b

I love improvising on a 2 chord pattern lol. I also really like 3 and 5 chord pattern and i absolutely can have a blast noodling on a single chord haha.

It's the same story as Imagine Dragon's "Natural." Good musicians (like you) can make great music with a few resources. It's all practice and passion with a pinch of music theory.
("Natural's" two chords are Dm and A7, if you're wondering).

That's very much debatable. It really depends on how you choose to separate melodic elements from the harmony.
