Buckin' is how I found you. I also watch hotsaws101, human, and Project Farm. Just watched my first 2 videos from Jereme Bell, aka Bellhopper this morning. (Wednesday)
One ton truck needs repairing, Tractor just got fixed and it's raining bad news....You could write a country western song! I ported my Jonsered 2171 using your instructional videos and your degree numbers. Its running great! Thank you Harvey!!!
I've learned alot from walter over the past 3 years watching him. He puts out very good tips on parts to use and not to use. On tricks that's helped him over the years. Love your videos just as much buddy, a bunch of different persons view on things is nice to learn from. Keep up the cool builds man!
Harvey it's been a long time since I've seen a 306 A poulin. My dad bought one when I was a kid. And I bought new in 1977 . A good saw i cut a lot of hedge posts and fire wood with it before I got hard up for money. And regretted selling it shortly after. You brought back a lot of memories . Thank you. 😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💖
I got this late last nite. Thanks u tube again. But thank you lronhorse for it. An thanks for that poulan. Some hate em. But lve had really good luck with 4 so far. 1 iz a 1985 a little bigger 1. But thanks l always watch sometimes 2 / 4 times. Alabama appreciate s you.
You finally got some green in your saw stable. 306 was a loyal saw, 60cc class, hang right in there with an 041. Now you need the 245, 74cc, dad has one he uses to level stumps. It dont back down from much sporting a 32" bar. Some used to say the 245a had one of the best power to weight ratios ever made.
Hi Harv, I’ve been watching Walt’s channel for years, his videos of seeing the roads and farm land is very pleasing. The saw work is a bonus! He isn’t too far from you. I’m a new sub since the summer. I watch: Buckin, Chainsaw guy, Donnyboy 73, Bellhopper, and Hotsaws too. Thanks Sam in Pennsylvania
I watch Walt's videos every so often myself. As a fellow CR500 rider, a heavy equipment mechanic, and chainsaw lover.....you guys speak my language, thats why I enjoy these videos.
I just got an old Poulan running that looks like that one , it's the Texas chain saw massacre model , can't remember the numbers now but looks like that one , runs like a champ, hadn't been run for years , popped the second pull !!!! BIG D .
Lookin' forward to seein the 306a in action...lookin' good fer an old man Harv....lol...I got a 245a thats an old man too..borned in 71 and still runs great but retired to a day occasionally. I have a 306a but its a 75 model....its havin' a mid life crisis since runnin' a few days ago and its askin' fer a point filin' and new condenser to make it feel more in touch with its denial of slowin' down....lol. I dont run it much either but still like it. Walt is a good guy, been watchin' him some for a couple yrs or so. You are doing great stuff Harv, Many Blessings, Kev
Sorry life's been a crap shoot. Cheer up watch Buckin, take one day off and go to the woods. Helps heal your mind. And your body if you don't push it.. I spent yesterday in the woods with my dad, he's 73 it was fun. Thinking it will be a Saturday thing from now on...with Dad and my kids. He will be stocked up on firewood for a while... Thanks again for your time.
Thanks for sharing all the information that you do Mr Ironhorse. I found your channel when I was searching for info on saw porting. Now I watch almost every new video. Hopefully soon I'll get some time and try my hand at saw porting myself
Hi Harvey!!😀😀 I've been subbed to Walt for a few years now. He is a great guy and knows his stuff!!😀😀 I'm hoping to get to Buckinstock this year. My wife's birthday is the 19th so I have to either get her to come along or let me come by myself. Hopefully I'm feeling up to taking the ride to decals place. Because I really want to get some time to hang out with you. We just didn't get that time last year. Take care my friend!!😀😀❤ Logger Al
Yep always this time of year. 🤣Had to do front Hub assembly on my truck. Always below 0 when have to Cowboy up. Sometimes if not for disappointment I would have no appointment. Thankfully I have the abilities I do , because saving 800.00 by doing it myself is all I had to keep me warm. Stay ahead buddy.
Hey! LOL Thank you and I've started the process of going back in history in your channel. Excellent stuff and as you pointed out we have the same approach to life. SO maybe we should have a "youtube channel" GTG. Get a few creators together AFTER we do something here on the farm? Maybe rebuild some trail. Not certain I really can ride anymore but I can make believe right? Hoping to head down to Bob's before heavy winter set's in. Maybe that can be a day trip?
I would love to! I got 10% left and I’m making good use of it! Whatever you got in mind I’m game! Let’s put something together! We’ll have fun! I can do it any time!
Ahh..its nice to be "retired" at times OR having your own business. Retired here or as my kids tell me..."un-employed" so I usually have plenty of time as well... Let's see what's going on with the weather this weekend and plan around that first. I'm always on the hill and looks like your pretty much the same. One place I like to communicate is using the messaging on forestryforum.com you on that site? "weimedog" is the screen name there. If you are send a "ping" :)
Thanks for the shout out to walt I been watching his vids for a while now got a good channel his buddy Bob make me smile too looking forward to meeting you at bucking stock and so many new friends I been talking to this saw community is just something
Hi Harvey, I'm a new subscriber for about 3 weeks to a month now. Was told about you through Buckin'. I've been following Buckin' since he had somewhere between 400 and 600 subscribers! He calls me UA-cam Johnny because I was the first one of his subscribers to call him on the phone from UA-cam. I have also been following Walter (afleetcommand) for about 4 or 5 years now too. My dad just turned 81 years old on January 6th and we still cut wood together. Mostly McCulloch's, but my dad has a Stihl 051 AV Electronic and 038, a Poulan 306SA and a lot of other saws. Would love to e-mail you or talk to you on the phone. We're in Northwestern Illinois. Sorry for the long post.
I have an axe meet on March 28th up here in Ballston Lake NY. You are welcome. Killinger might be willing to tag along he said. Hes a few hours from you.
I BBEN SEEUN AND LIKEUN WHAT YA KNOW ! I'M A LIFE LONG MECHANIC, HOBBIEST {63 OF 70 YRS} AND A RETIRED CNC MACHINIST OF 35 YRS. I'VE KILLED MANY MOTORCYCLES, AND BUILT MANY ENGINES OF ALL TYPS. AND I GOTTA SAY "I LIKE WHAT YA SAY., WHEN YA MEAN IT"
I love Poulan, from the old ones to the new ones, they have a special spot in my heart like Husqvarna! The new Poulan saws get such a bad wrap. At least Husqvarna is keeping the name alive like McCulloch too. They still serve a purpose and good saw to have around the yard and home and for the money, how can you complain?
Hi I'm a fairly new subscriber, and I have some experience with saws. Someone ported buckins little echo? Was that you? I like the little poulan/ Craftsman 2.0. That said has anyone ported one? I can find them used cheep. I own a few. Tempted to try it. Do you know of any aftermarket cylinders and piston kits? In case I screw one up. Lol
Aaron Schoessow I’m familiar with the saw, 2 of my buddies have them. They are good but I’ve never had one of the engines out. They are a clamshell design so no base gasket to be taken out so possible port work is minor but still do able.
If u where my neighbour id be over there helping you get these jobs done ..australia. bill block is in aussie not shure where abouts though its pritty big contry
Sorry you’re having problems with misc small stuff in your life. Please concentrate on your health! I’ve had some minor burps in my health along the way and just dismissed them. Now they have amplified themselves and I have major problems with my right ankle and leg. On another note. I have a stihl 064 av magnum that was my father’s family wood saw. I’d appreciate some help with going thru it, fixing the always present unforeseen complications and general 😊restoration of it. I know you have posted your not building friends saws, I’m not asking for that. Just possibly some off line question and answer and possibly some video exchange so I get things correctly. I.m a A pretty good wrench in heavy equipment and diesel trucks, but older saws stump me fora while. Take 😊😊care and get well as this is the only chance Jesus gave us to prove ourselves. Semper fi. May GOD be with you
I have been watching Walt for years and we are lucky that the both of you are willing to share with us. Thank you much.
Thank you Walt and Harvey - I'm a fan of both channels - love the narrative and variety in your channels. Its not all saws which is good.
