Once again a nice film Robert, well done. Ive just been on Ebay and ordered all the materials, thanks for sharing them. Im looking forward to your next video. Id like to get over next year and do a bit of fishing with you. Hopefully Covid-19 shall be gone then! Great work, looking forward to your next film. Kind regards, Ewan.
Great movie! It even conveys your mood, not just information. I have a question about a fly: does it make sense to knit the body of a fly using chenille? And one request: I would like to ask you to include subtitles on your videos. It would be great to read the text in your own language.
Great job Robert, really enjoying your videos. :) Right now i got no predator dubbing here, but this small one should also work with Senyos Laser Dub instead of Predator Dub, right? :)
It can be done. Sure. You can tie this type of baitfish with any long hair dubbing. If you want more length than the laser dub can give you, just experiment with blending it with another material as well that has the desired length. Might turn out to be a great fly!
Happy Easter, Robert! Nice video and good sbs of the fly. Are you going with your thread over the eyes before using the resin? Cannot see that exactly. Best Jan
Thanks! It is a mono tying thread that I unwrap after the glue cured to make the eyes curve around the hook. Mono thread does not absorb the glue so it is quite easy to get undone. It gives a nice 3D effect and the eyes are less likely to fall off after some use.
First of all - great to see your enthusiasm every time you catch a fish. I cant see from your tie descriptions that you¨re using quite large hook sizes. I have recently bougth Ahrex hooks for the first time - pretty nice and sharp but i also find them bigger than other brand (like e.i. Kamasan) i think. Al in al that means big hooks for your fishing. Is that because you only got big seatrouts in Gotland or is it to prevent small fish from biting? Thanks Jesper
Hi Jesper. Traditionally size 1 hooks are not common in sea trout fishing. I come from a river and lake fishing background and big flies work great there. Big flies work great in the sea too. I cover large areas when I fish on the coast and a big presentation gets the fish's attention from the distance. So I don't have to hit the fish in the head with the fly, so to speak. But I always use a smaller dropper fly or one of us if we are several people out fishing, one uses smaller flies to try what's best. I find it to go in periods. There can be a week where small flies are the best and some time later I get all my fish on giant 15 cm flies. But most my fish this year has been on flies in lengths between 10-12 cm. Also the smaller fish often don't hesitate to take such a fly. Then a large hook makes sense. Hope that explanation makes any sense 😇
@@FlyFishingbyRobert Thanks for at great answer. It makes perfectly sense - just watching spin fishers lures like long spoons and woblers. But even on spinning lures I would down-size the hooks at least one size so I still think #1 is very large. I tyed the jiggyfly silver (pink, chartreuse and chartreuse/olive) with #2 and tried it yesterday. No sea trout takes but a lot of garfish playing with all of them. I guess no hooked garfish because of the big hook - thats good and i guess they get attention. You use that big hooks for salmon and river-sea trouts? I have been to Mörrum some times and have always been told, that small tube flies with #8 treble hook is ideal? I bougth some ripple ice fibres - that is crazy! Amazing glow! I got it in a bag that looked like very long fiber dubbing. I lookes like yours is more nicely arranged. If yes - where do you get it from?
Super cool thanks! I'm making captions for the new Fly TV upcoming soon and just wondered "How did he tied this fly?". Two clics, and i have the answer. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for an interesting & well-made video. I like the use of foam to hold the body shape while gluing the head & the use of mono thread on the eyes Both are new to me. I have used orange flies on flat water during a bright sunset (even baitfish appear to glow orange then) but never pink. Do you know why it works in your waters? Have you ever tried the same design in chartreuse or chartreuse over white? Note: my saltwater fishing has been mostly in Massachusetts, USA & I have no experience fishing your area, so I don’t know what the baitfish are in Sweden or the rest of Europe.
Thanks! Don't know why pink seems to be so good. I tie this fly in orange as well but besides that I mostly tie it in more natural colors. But in general many accent colors are good. I vary some by the light and watercolor but there are no rules. It is fun to experiment.
I don't sell any materials myself. Most material is available globally but some only in Europe or Sweden. Let me know where you live and if it is a certain material you look for from the video and perhaps I can find a link for you.
Great clip, that’s how it should be done, fishing first and share the tying later.
Brilliant!
Thanks for sharing 👌
Thanks Robert. Will try this fly in west of Ireland when our estuaries open again!

Thanks. That would be fun!
I like how you fasten the eyes with the thread, they often come undone with just glue, great vid
Thanks! It really helps. And mono thread does not get stuck that easily. Often enough to have it tied around the eyes for 30 seconds or so.
Amazing expertise coupled with infectious joy, bravo Robert! Enjoy your vids immensely, keep it up!
Well done! Thank you for sharing the how to and the catching. Take care!

Nice to hear. Hope you will enjoy the Fly Tv as well.
@@FlyFishingbyRobert I did! It's a great episode. And i tried a version of the Predator dubbing minnow, works like a charm on rainbows!
Nice one Robert!!!👏🏼👏🏼😉😉
Thanks Cap!
Love your fly fishing videos! Are you fishing in saltwater?
Thanks. Yes it is. In a few months I will make freshwater videos.
Grym video som vanligt 💪

Tack! Ja, det har jag. Den är riktigt smidig. Vet ej om det blir någon film. Men det är inte omöjligt 😊
Nice video and exellent bait fish

What gloves are you wearing thanks and an interesting tying will give it a go
Fish Monkey wool gloves
Great fly! Gave it a try, and what do you know, caught my first ever Seabass here in Norway😅 fucking awsome
how did you make the mold thing for making resin heads, is it just foam with a hole or a crack in it? doesnt the uv resin stick to that?
It is just foam. Only to hold the material back.
Do you know what they were taking that day? like the worms that are spawning or something?
Will you be leaving a link where / who you purchase your fly tying material from ????

Hi fantastic video's your passion for fishing is awsome what rod, reel are you using many thanks
Thank you so much. Glad you like it! It's the Vision stifu seatrout and merisuola reel.
@@FlyFishingbyRobert awsome what # is the rod
Found it 7# many thanks
Nice Video. Wich Line do you fish ?
Thanks! Vision XO floating 8 weight line 👌
Hi which backpack do you use? Can you attach your rod tube to it?
Kan du lägga upp hur du gör din upphängarknut? Jag har försökt lite olika och får mer ofta problem (trassel) än framgång med upphängare :)

@@FlyFishingbyRobert Way a head of me ;)
Are you using a sinking flyline when using this fly?
I'm using a floating line. Info about my setup is always found in the video description 🙂
Hey Robert, can you tell me what kind of Rodholder this is? (at 6:42)
👍🐟
Kinda like a surf candy
They do like those kind of flies 😋
