Hi Ed, good video. I have the same chain saw and I think your bar oiler is not working. Your bar is blue around chain grove. Just my opinion, you can check it by reving it up while pointing end of bar down towards paper or other clean surface. You should see some light oil spray on paper. May be a lack of chain oil in the past also.

Yes, it is normal for a little bar oil to leak out. If it is a lot then it could be the lubricating mechanism may be clogged, allowing it to leak bar oil.
Hi Ed! I seem to be cleaning a saw every time I'm in the shop. That being said, I'm cleaning Husqvarna and not Stihl. I found this video very interesting based on the technology and difference in the two brands. The 251C and thr tensioning mechanism was very very unique. I'm always learning something. Maybe the Husqvarna just needs to be cleaned up a lot more 😂😆 lol I have a Stihl 500i and just can't bring myself to getting anything else ever thought a husky is soposto be a good saw also have a good day and marry Christmas ⛄🎄 take care
@@larryhronesz5693 Hey Larry! I see you get around. Ed lives to the west of me, about 90 minutes. You have a good saw. Those saws are ridiculous with the fuel injection. I like saws with wooden spoke wheels and canvas covers I guess 🤣 I chose a brand and stuck to it. You should do the same. Happy Holidays, brother!
Thanks for watching! I typically use just a general all purpose oil in the can as I use it for other equipment around the shop. As you can see, I don't use a lot, just a bit to get the chain lubricated before the bar oil kicks in on use. Thanks for the question! best, Ed
Hey Ed. It’s jamie in south Arkansas. It’s 59 degrees here. Lol. Nice saws. If u get another saw buy a ms 261. 18 inch bar. U will love it. Professional saw that has power and speed. Weight ratio is great. My Wolfe ridge splitter should be shipping soon. I’ve been waiting over 6 months.
I have a ms 250 , ms 261 professional 362 professional an MS 500 I. Out of all these saws I prefer the 261. It’s light , stout and will cut the firewood. Anything under about 16 inch width. I grab the 261. Bigger logs then I reach for the bigger saws.
i use my saw a lot to rip planks. lots of debris ends up in those tank areas. those fuel and oil caps areas are a bad design. getting the caps off and resting them against the body of the saw they always pick up dirt and sawdust. i use a short bristle paint brush but even brushing off the saw the recess around the caps are always dirty and crap ends up in the tanks. out in the field is hard to work around it. is there any better way to deal with the issue out in the field? thank you

Air compressor….. and make sure you clean out the grooves/rails of your bar. And blow them out after and also the oil and grease holes.

I hate to look into your vacuum cleaner hose! Why don't you wash the saw with cleaning solutions ???😊 also brush away from the bar nose not into it
