Before the new dollar coins of today we had the Eisenhower dollar coins and they had reeding on the edge of them too. The pennies and the nickels have a raised rim on them. The United States put reeding on the dimes and the quarters , and the dollar coins when they were made out of 90% silver to stop shaving the silver off.

No there is no braille but there are devices that say the bill number
