Joshua you should look at the naked gopro cinewhoop. Which is the Betafpv 85x frame and a stripped down gopro hero 6 perfect for indoor flights. I have built one and I love how it fly.
That arming thing is so personal... For me arming is pulling towards me because that is like a conscious action for me but slinging my index finger up to disarm is basically a reflex by now.^^

@@TheCaffeinator nice! I also got the mobula6 hd today. Have you tried it in a 75mm frame? It is way more efficient and has more punch (although still feel very heavy compared to mob6)
@@abrahamtan9704 I did the frame swap to 75mm.. but I mistakenly put the props on upside down and they're all stuck. It's now a pusher thanks to some config and has a lot of jello but I don't want to buy new motors yet 😬 some day I'll get it fixed
Nice Job. I know you're new to 3D printing but PLA is only used for prototypes and figurines & models; never used for anything used outdoors because it deforms in the sun. The drones parts are usually made from TPU for flexibility or PET or PETG for rigidity. Both do well at high temps & do not deform. PETG is much easier to print than TPU.
I just bought the shen drones squirt. Prebuilt BNF and I didn't realize they sent it completely set up to the controller. So I set it up like I did my Evoque and screwed up. Erased a few settings and lost acro. Stuck with angle and horizon mode. Any advice?
Hi Joshua, I have learned a lot from your videos the last couple of days. I screwed up the firmware of my IFlight Bumblebee V3. Iflight support tries hard to help me. They provide me with a CLI file but I have to be at firmware 4.2.9. When I start my betaflight configurator (10.10.0) and start the firmware update I only can opt for firmware version 4.2.11. Applying the provided firmware results in a long steady beep when I connect a battery. Any suggestions?
My Taycan 6s dont stop to beacon beeping when I plug the battery and when disarm the quad.... someone has this same issue? when the quad is flying the beacon beep stop to annoing me... WTF

Hey man, im planning on getting the taycan, but im not sure wether or not to get the 6s or 4s, i initially thought 4s would be the more suitable, controllable version, but if i get 6s, i can run the packs i use on my 5inch quad, being on a budget makes this a big plus, what would you recomend?
Your tutorials and reviews are great, although I have a cloud reptile 149 and if I have air mode permanently enabled or assigned to a switch the motors just rev up at high speed with no control over them, do you know a fix for this, if so could you do a how to 👌
We need a cinewhoop tuning video to help get it locked in for that cinewhoop feel. There are none out there other than blackbox tuning😔. I Kno I Kno. I gotta learn blackbox eventually lol.
Since cinewhoops are flown in close proximity to objects, and we don’t do flips and rolls, I prefer to have Airmode off and rely on idle up so that it doesn’t flip out the moment you touch something.

It is super annoying... it used to happen to my mobula 6 as well until I followed your precious advice and instal emuflight mockingbird config > so there must be a configuration trick ;)

Josh uses (or has prior) logical switch setups on the radio to achieve that - I personally run that on a separate channel just because I like that as a forcing function that even if I make a big mistake on channel stacking (which Josh has the best how-to guides for), because you DO want two-switch as a requirement. I do like FL1's double-arm on first arm, but ALSO want that in addition to pre-arm on both switches (because I've most often inadvertently attempted to maul myself when bending over to pick up quads, or walking back with one still plugged in)
@@tehllama42 could you drop a link or explain how to set up that double arm on first arm or something of the likes? my biggest problem with having pre arm setup is if i say clip a tree branch and disarm but if i think i can recover and re arm mid air i never manage to due to the pre arm being in the way
@@Schulz-Racing I run pre-arm on a momentary switch, which helps. With practice, it's natural enough that about 80% of the time on racetracks and flying freestyle, I can catch it after disarming while still in the air.
@@tehllama42 yeah thats exactly what a friend of mine told me to do i currently have my failsafe switch set on the momentary switch but im starting to notice more and more people dont have an actual failsafe switch just have it configed in BF and set up on the tx. i think ill just move it to an un used switch for peace of mind and try prearm on the momentary switch. thanks man :)
@@Schulz-Racing I personally rely on using the AND logic in Betaflight to force my mode switch AND buzzer switch to be required to cause BF Failsafe to kick in - a bit odd, but it also lets me overlap the RX channel settings to be sure it goes towards that behavior... this also frees up a switch spot for me (I have one quad where I'm using a switch for Arm/BB, a buzzer switch, a momentary for Prearm, a 3-Pos for Turtle/VTX Pit/Normal, another 3Pos for Air/Acro/Angle [angle enables FS], one pot that lets me set Launch control and BB log, and another pot that changes RGB LED colors... it's a mess, but it works and all fits on 4 AUX channels.

I think the biggest takeaway is that iFlight has somebody competent actually flying their stuff, whose advice they're actually taking - and it shows. Awesome job to IFlight - I'm really happy with the five quads worth of stuff I run from the Succex/XING line, because it's been awesome stuff... sounds like it's going to keep getting better.
RE: Do you have a link for the right angle usb connector adapter to get at FC usb when ducts are on? I sure as heck can't find it. This is the configuration that it is shipping with and I am testing these all as shipped. Trust me when I say that lots of people who buy a bind-n-fly or ready-to-fly do not upgrade it they just fly it as delivered. You can upgrade it and tune it and tweak it and I make those videos too but when I do a roundup like this, the question is, which product is best out of the box.
The minute you upgrade to the latest version a whole bunch of things change and the drone may not fly as the manufacturer intended. At that point, if I criticize the drone, people may say, that's your fault for upgrading. It worked fine as delivered.
With a great respect to you as well known drone blogger I have to say that it's absolutely useless video. Here is the reason: fpv quadcopter industry nowadays is such a DIY open source geek thing, what means that it have to be undone. It's just like a raspberry pi or Arduino theme. So the problem is not in companies who offer components or "drones"("" because it's not a final working product like dji drones) not setted up, but in betaflight ecosystem, who must to make such an algorithm which could set up all parameters like pids and filters automatically after for example a couple test flights with a list of few rolls and yaws with reading blackbox information. For me it's absolutely strange that it haven't been done yet. There's well known algorithm of automatic pid calibration which is already works for years in temperature programmable regulators. But for some reason you have to make a few flights changing each parameter of p I d and put it into simply python script from GitHub to see graph on each parameter and choose the right one. What about filters... I absolutely don't understand why it couldn't be automatically done in real-time by fc. Filters just cut of the high frequency peaks
No offense but this is your perspective because you haven't followed the development of FPV firmware for the last five years. Auto PID tuning has been tried. It doesn't work well. In a hugely noisy and dynamic environment like a flying quadcopter. Filtering is the single biggest improvement in flight performance we have seen. Saying "it just cuts off the peaks" is a huge oversimplification. The bottom line is, this is all open source code. If you can do it better, go for it.
@@JoshuaBardwell your conclusion at the end is the thing I'm worried about for the last 4 years. I'm an engineer and I often need some sort of automatisation for my equipment. I have no programmer knowledge and I have to use open source platforms like rpi or Arduino. Of course use libraries from GitHub, but they are all work in some awful way. There's no solution in open source programming for any propose that works right, and also there is a syntax and some commands that are not clear to understand by its names

DJI air unit requires DJI goggles. The FPV system works with the goggles 2 and the v2 goggles.
Outside of the goggles, how much more expensive is a digital vs analog? Like $100?

When you Fly them can you go over which battery you would use with each whoop please as I am buying a new setup and do not have anything yet
Recommended battery is between 850 mAh and 1500 mAh 4S, or equivalent Wh in 6S.

Hold down the bootloader button on the FC. Plug in USB while holding down the button. This puts the FC into DFU mode and you can re-flash it.

I like Taycan with the interiors of Bumblbebee or i like Bumblbebee with the frame of Taycan. Damn. I bet Bumblebee will win the contest!

have you tried turning airmode off? i have airmode set to a toggle and i just shut it off when flying indoors
