Just when I thought your walks couldn't get any better. This was brilliant. From the quaint narrow streets to watching you sketch, and even watching your dog digging is entertaining.
Another beautiful walk. You are so blessed to have all this on your doorstep. I could watch your videos all day as I always feel so relaxed afterwards. Thank you 🙏🏻
He he...two and a half cocker spaniels wide 😋🐾👌...love it 💞. So many memories of this walk when I was a child. My Dad would march us all to Dodman from Mevagissey when we lived there, and we so looked forward to getting a drink or an ice cream from Gorran Havan 🍦. Another thing engrained in my memory, is swimming at Volt beach and not wanting to get out, as there were two naked men at the water's edge..just where I needed to exit 😱😂. Really enjoyed this guy's ... happy memories and more to come hopefully 😁🌅👌😘
What a wonderful walk with a new length. We love streets that are a maximum of two dog lengths wide, the most beautiful are those that are one dog length. Thank you for the great video Greetings from hot Germany Greetings Günter
So glad you have been to our families little bit of heaven. Been going every year since my late wife Alizon introduced me to Gorran Haven on our honeymoon in 76. I shall be there in October when it’s a little quieter. Thank you to you Sarah and Andrew for a lovely video.
I think we will return over the winter, when the roads are a bit quieter to feel the breeze on our faces and walk it again - I fancy trying it the other way around! Sarah :)
Gorran Haven looks a lovely quaint village, definitely has the noisiest seagulls, the coastline to Dodman Point is stunning, and pole vault beach was idilic, I was paying attention Andrew, which surprised me as no sleep for days due to the heat! I’ll no doubt miss the rest! Doggie 🐶 thoughts 💭 I’m sure you can get to Australia this way! he was so focused on digging I had to smile 😊 and loved the way he obliged as a living tape measure, be careful Andrew he’s out to steal your limelight! thanks for a great walk about to somewhere I’ve never been, 👍🤗🥀
@@CornishWalkingTrails Hi! your little brown dog 🐕 is smarter than most, the beach sands are easy to dig even though he doesn’t get very far, but enjoys it immensely, land soil is mostly like concrete these days, he could damage his little paws 🐾 that’s my theory anyway! take care 🤗👋
Awww, this one was you two at your sparkling best (not forgetting Mr.Scrumptious Two Dogs Wide of course!)... with the glory of Cornwall spread out all around as far as the eye could see. Truly spectacular bit of coastline and one of your fab paintings to top it off at the end. Feel like I have been on this one with you today even though I'm stuck in sweltering Kent! Even in the summertime you can find secluded beaches with not a soul in sight (although Andrew was doing his best to spot the more elusive ones!! :-)) There's a remote walk in Kent with a nudist beach at the very end....with warning signs when you approach it! 🙄😀 x J x
Wow, thank you so much! I so miss traveling there. I could remember feeling the breeze, the wind, the sun, the grasses at my legs and smell the salty but mild air as I watched you walking. Your videos are such a treasure. And what a great idea to look up what people said about these places in former times!
That was a funny entertaining video:)). Andrew was in good mood because he made so many jokes. Very funny!!! I have the same walking book and we will definitely do this wonderful walk in September. One near Mevagissey is also on the list. The views are magnificent. And perfect for sketches as you can see from your great picture, Sarah:)) To see your little dog digging was so cute. Perfect hike, perfect video, perfect couple:)) Thank you. Gabi:))
Thank you! Yes, we had a very good day, managed to remember everything, plenty of water and food, so relaxing and fun! sometimes it just clicks! Sarah :)
Interesting video again😀Walked through Gorran Haven once,on our way from Mevagissey to Portloe walking the South West Coast Path. Did not take the time then to look around the village. So nice to «revisit» the village and Dodman’s Point.😀
Hi Sarah and Andrew…lovely to see your drawing. I love your artwork Sarah and lovely to say I own a couple of your pieces myself and they are fun to always look at…sorry I’ve been away from watching been in a whirlwind! But so fun to enjoy a quiet time to view! Lovely area to explore…hope you are all well. All the best Ana 🌹
Hi Sarah and Andrew. I loved your walk today. You are right the views were brilliant and Gannet Haven looks quiet picturest. I didn't know about it but I will visit next time I'm down your way.
Hello Sarah and Andrew! Fantastic video from every aspect, as with all of your videos😁I think my brain was on chill mode as well just watching the breathtaking views
remember camping at a farm in port holland just a bit further on past dodman and walking along the coast path to gorran haven an absolutely beautiful area of Cornwall
A truly lovely walk. Amazing views. Being able to see all the way to the Lizard was very exciting. Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful area with us.
Yes! Wonderful views! Doggie was the star today. Can either of you tell us how many Pubs/Cafes in Cornwall are named "The Mermaid"? You are fortunate to find so many charming small beaches with few people. Surfers have claimed many here. I especially enjoy comparing your coastline to ours. Interesting about the deep water off Dodman Point. The La Jolla underwater canyon leads to a deep trench; the Scripps Institute of Oceanography has a long private pier for research, and the fantastic Birch Aquarium. You must see it if you come here. The seagulls do seem extra loud in Gorran Haven. :)
Our coastline is so interesting. Being a triangular County, we have the contrast of the north and south coast, both so different in character, I can never decide which I like best! Sarah :)
Thanks guys.. I was just thinking at the beginning of this vid that I'd not seen Sarah drawing or painting for a while .. Then the sketch book comes out lol.
My home village! The other coast path you can take runs behind my house to Chapel Point and Portmellon. There is also a small seal colony just before Portmellon :)
We 'found' Portmellon last year, lovely spot and we need to walk from Gorran to join the dots, fill in the gaps so to speak! We will look out for the seals, sound like one for the winter month, Sarah :)
Our second place in our hearts. The bakery is as you say Cakebreads but it is now owned by Barbara and Ralph Newt friends of ours. Their Cornish pasties are to die for.
Hi Sarah and Andrew What a lovely walk, we could see the Dodman when we were last down in Cornwall in 2013 from the Roseland Peninsula. also Sarah you are a very good Artist. Thank you for Sharing your lovely walk with us it’s a 12 out of 10 from me too Cheers Glenn 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
You say that you've not been to Gorran before, well it was worth the wait. CWT at its best with stunning views, a bit of gate leaning and the return of digger dog! Speaking of dogs, Andrews new measurement system needs explaining. How many chihuahuas to a cocker? Is a French bulldog half a Labrador ? We need to know !!
Very relaxing and very picturesque as usual. You make the making of your video’s look so easy but the effort needed is sheer dedication. This is one to watch again and again, really enjoyed it. PS I am sure your ‘digging friend’ knows your every word - he is a real star.
This is my second comment after the seagulls! The walk was filled with beautiful views and I love the effortless skill that Sarah used for the exquisite landscape painting!🥰🙏❤️😊🥳
Wow, these views are fantastic 🥰 We will probably walk from Portloe to Gorran Haven during one of our walking days next year. And now I am looking even more forward to it 👍🏻🤩 And the water colour picture is so lovely. Torunn 🥰
Still catching up with your wonderful vlogs. Gorran Haven is known in our house as Gorran Heaven ever since we walked through there on our walk of the whole SWC path (in sections) years ago. Re: gate leaning, we think it should be made an olympic sport, we're experts at it !!!
A seagull in NJ took an ice cream cone right out of my son’s hand when he was at the seashore! If that happens the ice cream shop will give you another cone!!
Oh dear! But how lovely of the shop owner! One tried to steal some fish and chips from me in Falmouth but missed and his claws scratched my face! Horrid things! Sarah :)
'Carts' doesn't necessarily mean horse drawn vehicles. When I was a boy growing up in Penzance (60s/70s) hand pushed carts were still being used to carry ladders, tools, building materials and for selling fish and bread to people's homes.
Sorry to disappoint about Rattle St, but it wasn’t about horse-drawn carts - it referred to hand carts on which the fishermen would bring their nets and pots and other gear back to their lofts!
Last time I was at Dodman point I was spear fishing and caught a nice Bass, from emerging from the water I was confronted by a naked 80+ year old woman, I lost the Bass.

Many years as a kid spent here. I recognise it all. Tears in my eyes lol

Another lovely village in Cornwall. I agree that the seagulls were having a domestic. Very noisy. Great seeing doggie today. A very nice walk.💕🐕👟👟⛅
